"It's time, Nam. Prove that you're really on our side. Pour this over Arthit." Jessica spoke with a smirk, giving the bottle of water she was holding to Nam, who seemed reluctant to get it.
Finally, she raised her head and looked at me with odd determination in her eyes.
Could Nam really do it to me?
Even though I know that Nam had turned her back on me, I was almost sure that she wouldn't do what Jessica was asking her to. I believed that though she chose her love over friendship, she wouldn't choose Jessica's friendship over our friendship, she wouldn't choose Jessica's friendship over mine because they never ever got along in the past. It would be like she chose our grumpy old Physics teacher over me.
It would never happen.
I was sure our friendship was stronger than that...
But I couldn't help but feel wronged when Nam suddenly took a step towards me, gripping the bottle of water firmly in her hands. And having seen this, May took action. She walked over to Nam and stood in front of her with an angered expression. "What are you doing? Are you seriously going to listen to someone like her?" she remarked, pointing at Jessica with a disgusted look.
Nam didn't speak to that at once. She looked down on the floor, but then looked up again after a minute. "I have the right to listen to anyone I want." She finally responded in an icy tone. "You have a problem with that?"
May shook her head disbelievingly. "Have you gone crazy? Have you forgotten how much trouble that girl caused you before? What about how much you hated her?" She tried to remind Nam. "And what's this? You're going to destroy your friendship with Arthit over Jessica? Please tell me you're not stupid enough to do that."
"She's not stupid if she does what I told her to do. I don't see anything stupid with trying to protect your boyfriend from a guy who wants to ruin him." Jessica shot at May, walking over to Nam's side. "You're doing the right thing, Nam."
But May stood firm. "Well, if you're going to do it, then you just have to pass through me, because I won't let you." She replied with a stubborn smile. Dear May, thank you for sticking up to me alone.
Jessica, who always was unafraid of anyone, decided to fight her by pushing her back harshly. "That's easy." And with May out of the way, Jessica told Nam to go for it. "Do it now."
Nam followed her order and started walking towards me with a blank expression. I decided that maybe I could talk to her, make her change her mind. "Are you really going to do this to me?" I asked her, looking at her with pleading eyes.

She didn't budge at all. She continued walking and stopped once she was right in front of me. She then poured the whole bottle of water over me so quickly that I didn't even have enough time to move away. And when it was over, she gave me a cold look. "This is what you wanted me to be." Nam remarked as she dropped the bottle and started walking away, leaving her new so-called 'friends' behind.
I was soaked, but I didn't even feel it.
While Nam was standing in front of me, I became unaware of the things happening around us. I zoned out for a while, just staring at her and still disbelieving what had happened...
But once she left the scene, the sound of Jessica and May quarreling with each other reached my ears again and I realized exactly was happening between them. And to my surprise, a crowd of nosy people had already formed around them as they continued fighting by pulling each other's hair, screaming and pushing each other.
I was on the verge of stopping them when someone stepped out of the crowd and stood before them. It was none other than Michael, who as usual, was wearing something pink. And this time, it was a pink cap. Despite being labelled as a girly color, it suit him really well.
Following him was Daniel, who didn't seem to notice my presence. As soon as May saw Michael, she turned away and rolled her eyes. But when she noticed Daniel appear after him, a small smile of interest formed from her lips as she continued to defend herself from Jessica's attacks.
Wait, does she...
However, Michael's presence was not enough to stop Jessica from screaming and fighting. Michael grabbed one of Jessica's arms and held it firmly to finally stop her.
"What do you think you're doing?" He asked Jessica with a very serious expression. It was the first time I saw such expression on his face since he was always smiling, unlike Daniel who was mostly serious. (Talk about opposites attracted!)
Jessica must've noticed that too, because she instantly stopped moving her other arm and faced him. "I am defending myself from her." She answered, pointing at May and trying to shake off his grip on her arm.
Michael raised an eyebrow at her. "Are you serious? Because I just saw you attacking her." He spoke, letting go of her arm. Jessica didn't answer to that, instead, she glared at May as if saying it was her who brought Michael there to rescue her. Michael continued seriously. "Look, I don't know what happened here, but you shouldn't hurt May like that."
Upon hearing that, Michael protecting May, people around us started murmuring. "Wow, he came for her rescue! Michael likes May! I can tell!" Someone whispered loudly and excitedly to her friend. "They match well!"

Jessica seemed to have lost her voice as she just stared at Michael angrily. If I was there, I would take that chance and leave. But Michael wanted more and gave Jessica a very dangerous look. "Please apologize to May now."
Now, I didn't really know if Michael was playing or not, because I, for one, knew that Jessica was too stubborn to say sorry to anyone. And sure enough, Jessica laughed at that. "Are you joking?" she asked in a sort of irritated tone. Oh no...this was definitely gonna stir up another fight.
Michael shook his head. "I'm serious. It's not right to hurt someone and not say sorry in the end. So go and say it to May."
"Do you really think May's innocent? Ha! She's the one who pushed me first!" Jessica remarked, trying to turn the tables on May.
Of course May wouldn't allow that. "Everyone saw it was you who attacked! You even asked best friends to fight each other!" she exclaimed, pointing towards me without looking.
Daniel had only been listening to them until he heard about the 'best friends' part and turned to where May pointed. Upon seeing me standing there, he rushed over to my side with a concerned expression. "What happened?" he asked, seeing my wet hair and clothes.
Seeing how Michael and May seemed to be handling the situation well now, I decided it wouldn't be bad of me to get out of there. "Let's go somewhere else to talk." I told Daniel quietly. He nodded in agreement and followed me as I led the way out of there and headed for a classroom that was empty.
When we found an empty classroom, he and I took a seat. After which, I started explaining what had happened. "It's really nothing." I started carefully so he wouldn't think it was something serious. But it really was, I knew it. I had just lost my best friend. However, I didn't want him or anyone else worrying about it. "Nam and I just had a huge fight."
"And where does Jessica come in?" Daniel asked me.
I wanted to keep things simple, but I guessed that Daniel didn't want that so I explained to him my side of the story. "Last night, I found out that the reason why all my plans against Kongpob never worked. It was because of Nam and Jessica. The two of them have teamed up to stop me." I explained, pausing to clear my throat before I went on. "But I never thought that Nam would choose Jessica over me. I just thought that she was doing it, because she didn't stand the idea of me hurting Kongpob. I know she still has feelings for Kongpob, but I was wrong, because earlier, Jessica asked her to pour a bottle of water over me and...well she did it."
"You know what? I think you don't deserve a friend like Nam. Think about it, didn't you do all those evil schemes just for her, and in the end, it was her who was sabotaging you?" he replied. "So don't fret about having fought with her. Look at it this way, at least you wouldn't be fighting a war with Kongpob now."
I was about to say he was wrong because I was still going to continue on with my fight, but before I could, my cell phone began ringing so I took the call first. "Hello?"
"Arthit! Come over to the cafeteria quick! Nam is fighting with Kongpob!" May spoke so quickly that I almost didn't understand her.
"What do you mean?" I asked confusedly.
"Just come over here now!" she answered before she hanged up.
Taking the hint, I sensed that it wasn't just a confrontation between Nam and Kongpob. It was something a lot more serious. Pulling Daniel's hand, I stood up and dragged him out of the room along with me. "Come on."
"Where are we going?" he asked, looking utterly confused.
"Just follow me." I answered shortly, hurrying towards the cafeteria.
When Daniel seemed to realize that we were heading to the cafeteria, he let out a small laugh. "If you're hungry, you should've just eaten that cake you're holding."
Oh right...
Honestly, I didn't even realize I was still holding the cake with my free hand until he told me. But sadly, I was too worried to think about that.
When we reached the cafeteria, I was even more nervous because the air was so intense and there was quite the crowd staring at the commotion. Kongpob and Nam were standing in the middle of the crowd, I even saw Joss standing behind Kongpob.
But what shocked me the most was that Nam was crying, her eyes were puffy red, and Kongpob's usual smug smile was nowhere to be seen.
Ohoh...I had a really bad feeling about this...
"I'm not going to keep your secret any longer, Kongpob." Nam said defiantly.
Kongpob's eyes widened at that and it was the first time I saw Kongpob scared of something.
Or someone.
"I'm so tired of hiding it from everyone. And I don't think that Arthit should be left out on this. It's time for him to know your secret, Kongpob."
