《Behind Closed Doors》Old People... but Drunk?

The Hokage had us waiting in this damn room for about 15 minutes before some haggard-looking old man who reeked of alcohol and shame walked in...
I wasn't paying attention until I heard the Hokage tell Kakashi that this man was the person we were supposed to escort.
"This is Tazuna. You'll be escorting him back to the Land of Waves."
"Nah, you're joking, right? This is the person you had me waiting 15 minutes to escort? He's just an alcoholic who's having his last few drinks before he surrenders to the grave."
The two oldest people in the room sported some angry looks while my team just looked annoyed.
"Oi! You think I want a bunch of brats that probably just learned how to walk to escort me?" Tazuna yelled out.
Little did he know I was a clap-back master.
"Aren't you just mad because I see more boobs a day than you do?" Although saying that resulted in some whacks to the head from Sakura.
"You're 12, what do you know about boobs?!!?" Tazuna sputtered.
"So? And you're ugly."
"Naruko! This is our client, you need to be respectful!" Sakura cried out, and while I could see where she was coming from I frankly didn't care.
"Fuck off I want a new mission." I put on my best intimidating face and I was sure it worked... well at least on Sakura and the drunk geezer.
"Sure I think there are plenty of babysitting jobs available-" That old bitch thinks he's so funny. Making a fool of me just cuz' he's the Hokage.
"Suddenly I love drunken old people... I don't mind helping him out the grave and into the wave for this occasion only." My words were met with sighs.

"When and where should we meet up." Sasuke cut to the chase.
They all exchanged the details... I'll just ask Kurama when I should go to the meet-up place. Hopefully, he picked up where that was.
'Why are you swearing you bitch."
'Romantic, but I don't support bestiality."
With that, I cussed out my team and headed off to go get ready for this mission.

I wouldn't lie, I was pretty excited. It would be my first time out of the village. Hopefully, nothing goes wrong.
Although seeing as what happened the last time I hoped for something it went wrong. Yeah, I'm looking at Sasuke and Sakura. (4th wall break, I see your comments.)
Anyway, packing went by in a blur, and Kurama was already telling me that it was time to go.
Even though I wanted to I had decided against bringing my new sword. I just wasn't confident enough in using it yet.
It wasn't my plan to drop dead because I put a little too much trust in my ability to slice bitches.
'So...where's the meeting place again.'
'Don't be a pussy and back out on me now."
'You love me. You don't have to deny it Kura-sensei, I know I'm your favorite student.'
'Still the favorite.'
"HEHE HEHE."
"SHIT."

Walking to the meet-up place Sasuke and Sakura were already there. Like usual Kakashi wasn't there, but neither was the client so I'm guessing it was a little early.
But then again I'm sure this dude is a massive asshole. I don't trust alcoholics.
"Yo, are we early, or are these shitheads late?"
"We are early by ten minutes Naruko. I'm surprised you even made it." Sakura just had to get her two cents in.

"Shut up you fuck up." I don't care about being nice to her anymore. I don't think I ever really was... but hey maybe I was going to try to be later.
'Also Kurama why in the world did you bring me here ten minutes early??'
'I'm gonna beat your fuzzy ass.'
"Tch."
Like always me and Kurama played a quick round of Uno. We only got one in, before Kakashi and the client arrived. Tazuna was it...
And before the question comes up, of course, I won uno. Of course, I did.
Anyway, sometimes being in control of the connection comes in handy.
"Let's get moving team. Enough waiting." Kakashi spoke up after having a short conversation with our client himself.
Everyone broke up into formation at his words and we started our journey to the land of waves.
As soon as we stepped out the gates some sort of rush of freedom came over me. I knew this was a mission, but it seemed all too fun for me.
Somehow the pretty blue sky and bright sun shining down all today didn't match the puddles on the ground.
Wait...puddles?
It hadn't rained a drop since two days ago. How the hell are there puddles here.
"Kakashi... aren't these puddles a bit so-" Kakashi gave me a look that showed he had already realized something was off so I stopped talking.
'Kurama is there chakra in those puddles? I'm not good enough at chakra identification yet. Especially not within liquids.'
'Chunin? That's more than what c-ranks are supposed to have. Something isn't right."
'What do you mea-'
"Naruko! Pay attention" Sakura's cries caught my attention and I turned around to see some shit flying directly at me.
I blocked it as best I could, but it hit me. Seeing the blood from my hand drip onto the floor was a bit disappointing that I couldn't dodge, but I didn't have time to think for long.
Two Chunins were standing battle-ready in front of me and my team, but for some reason, they were looking a little blurry...
"Fuck I knew hoping was a bad idea.

8 82Fragments of Glass
before the 1939-1945 War, most churches in England had stained glass windows, but despite local people's best efforts many of these windows were smashed in the bombing. What could be repaired was repaired, but in many churches all they could do was reassemble the remaining fragments randomly, with extra bits of clear glass added to eke them out to fill the windows. That is what I imagined for my collection of short stories: fragments of stained glass, bits of robe, bits of faces, all sorts of odds and ends randomly stuck together. And with quite a lot of clear fragments among the coloured ones. Just broken pieces of stories that anyone can look through.
