"You never really understand a person until you consider things

from his point of view -

until you climb into his skin and walk around

in it. "

~DAISY~

Months fell into a year.

One year fell into another.

And another.

Elder brought another girl after Angie. This one worse and on the brink of death. Her mate abusive and causing her to be in critical state throughout her whole months pregnant.

It was a welcoming relief to Daisy, to stay at the hospital for long periods of time, instead of the pack. The warriors though still watched her. Still made sure she didn't escape.

As soon as the pup was delivered. As soon as she made sure she was okay and the pup's vitals were fine. She left. The pain within her almost unbearable as the moon's whip lashed out against her, a punishment for staying put within one place for to long.

She ran. Escaping into the dark folds of the night.

As far away from that pack as she could, laying low for several months, hiding away from the warriors that pursued her and into the safety of a different continent.

Into the depths of South Africa, where the pack there loved and adored her, treated her with praise and high respect.

Then she moved on, traveling further up into the heart of Africa. Wandering. Restless.

Yet she couldn't move back to where her heart really was.

Where she really was needed.

Because of the fear.

The fear of the choice she had made.

She gave up not only her mate, but her child.

Her flesh and blood.

He.

He would never accept Daisy after that.

Would never accept the choice she had made, even if she had been in a circumstance where she thought it best at the time.

She should have fought harder.

She should have fought, tooth and claw and with everything she had, to make it back to her mates side.

And now that she was free, she couldn't bring herself to face the rejection she was sure to find. The rejection she had put him through.

They were better without her.

It was the thought that drove and kept her away.

Yes. She missed them.

She missed her males everytime she came across a pair of dark blue eyes or saw a head of dark hair. She missed him whenever she saw a lake. Any body of water. She missed him when she looked up at the stars and the moon. Missed sitting within his warmth. Missed his slow breathes and long kisses. Missed his callused hands and rough voice.

Him.

Him.

All of him.

And sometimes Daisy laid awake at night, hoping to fall asleep, before she would fall apart.

Because if she felt this pain.

She couldn't imagine what they were feeling.

Because she had left them.

Chosen it.

They had not asked for such a fate.

Had not asked for such a cruel thing to be inflicted upon them.

Some days Daisy wondered how old her little one was. What he looked like. If he had a girl he liked. Found a mate. If her males were training together. How he was doing in his role to be future Alpha.

She wasn't Luna.

Would never be his Luna.

Daisy wandered aimlessly around. Never coming near them though. The temptation was too great.

The only relief she occasionally received was when she healed someone. Brought a soul back from death.

Sometimes she wondered if she didn't deserve happiness.

If the moon needed her to heal her children, instead of herself.

She never realized how unhappy she was, until he had come and woken up her soul.

Never realized how dead she was inside, until he made her feel alive.

And that feeling- truly scared her.

Scared her to reveal her true colors. To show the coward she was.

She thought this through everyday.

Re-lived her decisions and actions, her consequences and choices.

She was within a pack in Europe. Staying there to help take care of a sick pup, when she felt it.

The doctor grabbed the wall, the mothers held their ears and children began crying as she screamed.

Screamed and screamed her soul wrenching scream that brought blood to her mouth as she ripped her lungs from the sound.

She thought she was broken.

Thought she truly had shattered her soul.

But she had been wrong.

That was nothing.

Nothing compared to this.

This.

She felt the very fabric of her being, the existence of herself, tear literally in half as she cling to her chest, eyes going black and seeing red spots from the fire within her.

Consuming.

Consuming.

Broken.

Now she really was broken.

Tears coursed down her face as she clawed at her chest, her eyes and head. Screaming for the pain to leave.

No.

It couldn't be.

The pain she was feeling.

The tear of her heart.

The ripping away of her soul.

It could only mean one thing.

She sobbed, a heart wrenching sob that had the children within the room crying with her. That had the mothers falling to their knees as they took in the female's pain.

This pain could only mean one thing.

One thing.

He couldn't be.

Daisy's thoughts swung wildly out of control as she ran out the door, ran out the pack, ran and shifted away towards in the direction that she so long had been avoiding.

He can't be.

She couldn't finish her thoughts.

Couldn't bring herself to the stark, bleak conclusion that slapped her in the face as her mate mark burned like a branding iron.

It couldn't be.

Her wolf sobbed with her as they ran, faster they they ever had.

This pain could only mean one thing.

One thing.

Until next time,

Loves,
