《YOUR EYES TELL || Taekook ||》[5]

Taehyung bought pizza as Jimin asked him to and placed it inside his car.He then started his car to go back but before he could drive away, he saw a man dragging a boy forcefully towards an alley.Anger crept on his whole being seeing the sight. No matter what, people like this doesn't deserve to roam around freely. He went out of the car immediately and carefully followed the man who seemed drunk to not alert him. When the man pushed the boy he was dragging on the wall, Taehyung was finally able to see the face of the crying boy....Jungkook!
If Taehyung carried a gun with him, he would kill that man right away.He was fuming when he saw it was Jungkook, his love. The vulnerable look the younger had was enough to break Taehyung's heart. He saw red out of rage.Taehyung didn't even know when he started beating the man, all he knew was he was liking the painful screams of that filthy man.It was Jungkook's voice what brought him back to his senses. The boy looked so tired, so weak. And then Taehyung's eyes widened seeing the boy falling down.Fortunately, he was fast enough to take the unconscious boy in his arms.Since he didn't know where Jungkook lived, he finally brought him to their apartment.

And now there they are, waiting for Jungkook to gain his consciousness. At first Jimin wanted to call a doctor but Taehyung stopped him thinking Jungkook might get panicked again if he sees someone new all of a sudden. The state he found the boy in was terrifying. He didn't want to see it again, he can never see Jungkook in such state!
Both Jimin and Taehyung just decided to let Jungkook be and sat on the living room in order to not disturb the younger male.Taehyung has already told Jimin about what happened to Jungkook earlier.Jimin was too angry that he wanted to report the case to police but again, Taehyung stopped him saying they should wait for Jungkook to gain consciousness before taking any step hastily.Jimin understood and both of them just sat there in silence, the pizza long forgotten...

When Jungkook woke up, he couldn't see anything properly in the dark room.He was feeling a bit nauseous but still he managed to raise his body to a sitting position, his eyes half closed because of uneasiness.Jungkook tried to search for the switch of the light but didn't find it as usual. He opened his eyes in horror when realisation hit him like a truck. He remembered how a man tried to force him, how the boy from his uni beat the man up before he could anything......how he passed away all of a sudden.Where was he?Who took him there? Why he is in an unknown place.....

Jungkook didn't even know when his eyes turned teary again. He tried to stand up and search for the exit of wherever he is at the moment. He needed to go back to his apartment.Even though there's no-one waiting for him, he still wants to go there right this instant.
"Ahh" Jungkook yelped in pain when his knee hit something hard suddenly.Well, because of moving frantically in an unknown room which didn't have any source of light, made him bump into some hard surface. His senses got alerted when he heard hurried footsteps coming to his direction.Soon a switch of the light was turned on, making the room lit up.Jungkook looked towards the direction from where the sound of footsteps stopped. He saw the male who saved him earlier standing with another male who was shorter than him.Jungkook looked at them with his scared, teary doe eyes not knowing what he should say.His lips wobbled, feeling helpless. Why was he so awkward in the first place!
Before Jungkook could say or react something, the shorter male started speaking.
"Thank God, you woke up.We were so worried. This idiot didn't even let me call the doctor." He rolled his eyes towards the end, looking at the taller male beside him. What he failed to notice was the scared look in the younger boy's eyes after mentioning the word doctor.Jungkook didn't want to meet new people. What if they find him through them....
Taehyung who was observing Jungkook's face intently understood that the boy somehow was scared of meeting new people.Unlike Jimin, he noticed the look on the boy's face.Taehyung has been always concentrated on the younger male and by now, he started reading the slightest changes in the younger male's expressions. It may be creepy but Taehyung felt like Jungkook needs someone who can understand him, can listen to him even if he is silent, can be there for him when needed.Unlike Jungkook's face, his eyes spoke a lot.May be, Taehyung has gotten used to read them......at least a little bit....
"Jungkook, hey, I took you to our place since you became unconscious. We didn't call any doctor as you needed rest. Are you feeling better now?" Taehyung asked with so much concern and care which made Jungkook's heart flutter. It's been long since someone cared for him genuinely.
"Y-yeah." This time, Jungkook's voice came out without any difficulty which surprised himself.
Taehyung felt so many emotions when Jungkook replied. He didn't expect him to speak. The fact that Jungkook replied him without any hesitation, made him feel happy!

"You must be hungry right?Even we are hungry.Let's eat now.I'll just go and set the table.Don't be late, you two." Jimin who was now noticing everything quitely, butted in.He felt the need to feed the younger boy who looked to skinny and pale in the light. He didn't even wait for any reply and just ran away, giving his best friend some space with his crush.
"Don't mind him. He's always like that.Hope you didn't feel uncomfortable." Taehyung said with a small smile after Jimin left.
"I-I didn't." Jungkook replied yet again, making both him and Taehyung started.Taehyung was beyond happy while Jungkook felt oddly comfortable. After the other saved him, he felt safe with him being around.Only if he could have someone like him in his life like the short male had!
"I wanna g-go home." Jungkook spoke up slowly. His voice seemed like a whisper but Taehyung heard it clearly because of putting all his concentration on the boy in front of him.
"Ok.Let's eat something first. Then I'll drop you off at your place." Taehyung said with a soft tone, as if Jungkook was a fragile baby.
Jungkook wanted to deny.He didn't want anyone to see where he lived. It was risky but his heart was continuously telling him to trust the other. He didn't feel like a stranger at all, not after saving Jungkook from that man...
With a sigh Jungkook just nodded his head in approval.Taehyung smiled wide looking at the precious boy nodding his head so innocently. He wanted to hug Jungkook so bad but he restrained himself knowing Jungkook would feel horrible. But he couldn't stop the urge to ruffle the boy's hair and he did it before going away hurriedly, saying he would check up on Jimin. If he stayed a bit more, he could've seen the younger's boy's cheeks turning light pink because of blushing.......

While having some healthy yet tasty food, Jungkook got to know that the two males were two years elder to him. Both of them were best friends since forever.Jungkook also got to know about their studies and interests.Oh...most importantly, he got to know their names.Though Jungkook barely talked, he listened to every little thing the other two were saying. He felt relieved that they didn't ask him anything but also didn't let the situation become awkward at the same time.Instead of staying silent, they talked as if they don't mind Jungkook not participating in their conversation. That's what made Jungkook feel comfortable with Jimin and Taehyung's presence. He didn't felt forced to talk at all and that's what mattered.
After the three boys had dinner together, Jungkook took his leave. He bowed to Jimin saying 'bye' before Taehyung drove away the car.The ride was silent but the two boys felt good that way.It started raining slightly by the time they reached Jungkook's apartment.Taehyung stopped the car and unlocked it.He frowned when he saw the big apartment looking so dark.It looked like no-one was inside at the moment.
"You live alone?" The question left Taehyung's mouth without his consent.Jungkook who was about to step out of the car halted, hearing the question. He felt bad, thinking he made Jungkook upset.
"Yes." Taehyung sighed in relief when the younger male male replied with a small voice.
"Oh....See you around then." Taehyung said after being silent for few seconds.
"Sure." Jungkook replied within a second which surprised Taehyung for the n-th time on the single day.Damn...even Jungkook's shortest answers can make his heart go crazy.
"T-thanks, hyung." Jungkook's voice snapped Taehyung out of his thoughts.
"W-why?" Taehyung asked when he realised what he was being said.
"For saving me." Jungkook replied with a blank face but as usual, Taehyung could see many emotions running around those pretty, big, doe eyes...
"No need to thank me.Just remember, I'll always be there whenever you need any help.Just don't hesitate to talk to me yeah?" Taehyung didn't even realise when those words left his mouth naturally, as if they were meant to be said to Jungkook.Taehyung didn't regret saying it though....especially after seeing Jungkook's face lit up with a small yet genuine smile.....
Sorry for updating so irregularly.I'll try to update the next part asap.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.
