《A Fiery Love: A Charlie Weasley Love Story》Chapter 18: Long Day

Saturday finally came around and I was ready for a day to do absolutely nothing! Too bad that’s not what Charlie had in mind.

“Come one Izzy! Wake up!” He shook me while I hid under the covers.

“No!” I buried myself further into the sheets.

He wasn’t having it. He went under and pulled my out by my feet. He cradled me in his arms and threw me in the bathroom.

“Take a quick shower, and get ready real fast! I’ve got a surprise for you.” He closed the door, but not before smacking my butt for me to get a move on.

I jumped in the shower without enjoying it and got right back out. I dried off my hair and put a little make up on. I threw on a pair of jeans and a cute shirt.

“You ready?” He gave me a crazy look.

“Yeah, yeah.” I glanced up at the clock. “Charlie it’s 7:30 AM! What are we doing?”

“You’ll see! Come one Mum’s waiting.” I had no idea what was going on.

He took me in his arms and apparated up into the unknown. We arrived at the Burrow seconds later. We walked past the garden and I could hear whispering. We opened the door and…

“SURPRISE!!!”

I looked around unable to speak. Harry, Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Molly, and Arthur were all in the kitchen with big smiles on their faces.

“Congratulations on your job Sweetheart!” Charlie said planting a kiss on my cheek.

“Thanks you guys!” I really couldn’t believe that they cared enough about me to do this.

“Sit down! Breakfast is almost ready.” I could smell how great it was and my stomach made a growling noise.

“Better make it fast Mum! Someone’s hungry!” Ron said laughing.

“How was your first week at Hogwarts?” Hermione asked kicking Ron.

“It was good. I really like teaching!” It was true everyday that passed was great. “How are you guys?”

Everyone talked about things going on in their lives. Harry and Ginny were vacationing in Spain for their Honeymoon, and now Harry was back at work in the Ministry. Hermione and Ron were trying to figure out how to celebrate their six months of being married. Charlie talked about a new Peruvian Vipertooth that they had to keep separate from all the others. Even though he wasn’t a big dragon he was very dangerous. They weren’t keeping him for long just until he got healthier.

We ate and talked about random things. We asked each other strange questions just to pass the time. Molly laughed at our answers since some of them were stupid.

“Alright well I’ve got question for all of you!” Announced Molly. “Am I going to get any grandchildren from any of you any time soon?”

I looked over at Charlie and him and I busted out laughing. We never actually talked about kids before. I wouldn’t mind having a few, but I didn’t even know if he wanted any.

“Not from us sorry Molly.” I said.

“Yeah Mum. Izzy and I aren’t still adjusting living together and our jobs.” Charlie said taking a sip of his orange juice.

Harry and Ginny also said no the children idea. They just got married and wanted time to themselves. Ron and Hermione were looking a little suspicious though. We all looked at them waiting for them to say something.

“Well?” Asked Charlie curiously. Hermione’s cheeks blushed red.

“Hermione are you pregnant?” I asked without thinking.

“Well it’s not me that’s pregnant, but someone in this family is!” She tried to keep quiet but couldn’t hold it in. “Angelina‘s pregnant!”

Everyone eyes widened and no one could say anything. George and Angelina weren’t married yet, but today most people weren’t when they had their first child.

“Why isn’t he here to tell me about my grandchild?” Molly stood up. “Next time I see him I’m going to let him have it.”

“How did you find out?” Ginny asked.

“Well they were at the house and George looked nervous and Angelina got sick so he had no choice but to tell us. He promised us not to say anything yet, so don’t give him a hard time!” Hermione was always kind when it came to others.

It was a surprise to us all, but we were excited none the less.

At around 2:00 PM Hermione and Ginny decided they wanted to take a trip to Diagon Alley to pick up some books and maybe a new cloak. I decided to tag along and let the boys have their fun.

Diagon Alley was just as busy as the first time I went. Since everything was safe again people had no reason not to come and shop around. We walked around and looked at many different things; cloaks, witches hats, a new broom for Ginny, and books.

I decided to go into Flourish and Blotts and pick up a textbook for my classes. I told Ginny and Hermione that I’d meet them at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor when I was done. Walking into Flourish and Blotts was easier than most other times since kids were already in school. The book was easy enough to find, but of course the book I needed would be on the top shelf that I couldn’t reach.

I stood on my tip toes and knew it wasn’t going to happen. As I went to grab my wand a hand appeared and pulled the book off the shelf for me.

“Here.” Said a voice I knew.

I looked up and saw the grey eyes and blonde hair. I hadn’t seen him in years, but he looked much older than I. He was Harry’s age, but stress wore him out and aged him. He handed me the book with a slight smile.

“Thank you Draco.” I said taking the book.

“It’s not a problem.” He said. “I don’t remember you being this short.”

He was much taller than me, taller than Charlie even.

“Well last time we were face to face you were fourteen and kind of small yourself!” We both laughed.

“What brings you here?” He asked kindly.

“I’m here with Hermione and Ginny picking up a few things.”

“And that book? Why do you need it?” He asked curiously staring at the book.

“Oh! I need it to teach my students. I’m a teacher at Hogwarts now!” I said smiling.

“That’s great. More than I’m doing with myself.” He laughed. “Well it was good seeing you.”

“Draco, before you go, can I ask you something?” I needed to see if maybe he knew.

“Yeah sure.” He listened carefully. I took a deep breath nervously.

“Do you know a man named Peter Rowland?” My voice cracked.

He looked at me a little nervously and shifted in his feet.

“Um.. Yeah.” I waited patiently for the rest. “His family was forced to fight along side… Voldemort… but they were like my family and didn’t want it. They left the battle as soon as they could.”

My chest felt a little caved in, and Draco searched my face for something.

“Why do you need to know about him?” He asked.

“Because he’s my father.” Draco just looked at me with an unchanged expression.

“Are you sure?” He seemed in disbelief.

“Yeah, pretty sure.” We stayed quiet for a moment.

“He lives somewhere up in Scotland near Inverness, if you want to look for him.” Draco was sincere in his face.

“It’s just strange that he had a whole different family and I’ve never met him.” I sighed. “Should I go find him?”

“I think you should.” He put a hand on my shoulder. “Just watch out for his daughter she’s strange!”

He walked past me and out of store. I stood there a moment processing the information just given to me. If I wanted to I could go see my father at any given moment, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted that.

I walked to the Ice Cream Parlor to see Hermione and Ginny stuffing their faces. I bought a small cone for myself and joined them. I wasn’t ready to tell them about my father or the whole Draco Malfoy encounter, but I knew Charlie was going to want to know about it.

Before we left we had to make a stop at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes to bother George. We teased him for a while before congratulating him on the baby.

“You know Mum is going to kill you because you didn’t tell her first!” Ginny told him.

“She isn’t mad about it, is she?” He seemed scared.

“Not one bit!” I said happily.

We left Diagon Alley and returned to the Burrow. It was getting late and Charlie and I decided to go home. We sat on the couch cuddling together. Charlie knew something was up but waited for me to say something first.

“I found out where my father is.” I blurted out.

“How?” He asked shocked.

“Draco Malfoy told me about him.” I look into his green eyes and cuddled closer to him. “Apparently Voldemort used him and his family, but they wanted nothing to do with him.”

We sat together quietly as I let everything sink it. I shifted myself so my head was laying on his lap. He began playing with my hair knowing this relaxed me.

“Do you want to go see him?” He finally asked.

“Yeah, but not yet.”

Charlie kiss my head, picked me up, and carried me to the bed. I laid my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat.

“I’m going with you when you decide to go.” It was order not a request. “I love you too much to lose you.”

I felt tears form in my eyes. As hard as I tried to contain them, they escaped.

“Thank you for loving me.” I said quietly.

“Someone has to right?” He said playfully. He took my face in his hands and gave me a loving kiss. “No matter what happens I’ll always love you. You are my life now.”

I laid my head back down and grabbed his shirt lightly. He rubbed my back and began to hum.

“Charles Weasley, you are just too perfect.”
