《Affection || Lee Know》열 - Asking Out

"Are you able to take a few days off work?" I asked him when I woke up on the Sunday morning.
"I'll be able to, my hours are flexible. I'll be staying with her till she's better, don't worry." He said tiredly as he just woke up.
"Morning Dami-" I said to her, though she was asleep.
"Morning Minho-" I said too, noticing one arm was around my waist and the other draped across my stomach.
How I didn't notice that before, I don't know?!
"Get off Min-" I said, and he chuckled, pecking my cheek before moving so I could move off the sofa.
I walked over to Dami, and she slowly woke up, smiling as I sat down on the chair beside her.
"How're you feeling?" I asked, and she giggled.
"I'm feeling better- do I still have to do my homework?" She asked, which made giggle too. I noticed Minho's cute eye smile from the corner where the sofa was.
"No darling- just get better, ok?"
"YOU'RE THE BEST!" She half-shouted, her voice cracking slightly.
"Be careful darling-" I said, "Don't strain your voice, ok?"
She nodded, Minho walking over to her bed.
"Daddy? Are you finally dating?" She asked.
"No darling, we aren't dating." I said, and she sighed.
"Why not?!" She whined.
"Your dad is very annoying-" I said, earning a glare from him, "And hasn't ask me yet."
I giggled, Minho rolledbhisbeyee.
"We'll have to have a conversation-" He said, and Dami nodded, half-asleep still.
"Do you want to watch a film?" I asked her and she nodded, sitting up with help from us because of her broken limbs.
"What do you want to watch?" We asked her, and in the end we chose a Disney film, Mulan.

"I love this film-" I said quietly to Dami, and Minho giggled.
GIGGLED!
"I've never seen it, hopefully I love it too." She said, giggling like her dad.
We sat beside her bed, in two separate chairs, watching the film on the big TV she had at the end of her hospital bed.
"We'll talk later ok?" Minho asked me quietly and I nodded, seeing that the time was almost midday.
"Are you hungry Dami?" I asked her, before leaving to get her a sandwich and Minho and I a coffee.
"Hey Annie."
"Hello?" I asked, confused as I turned around to see Woojin.
"Hey Woojin- what are you doing here?"
"I work in the hospital, in the speech therapy area, what about you?" He asked, I nodded.
I tried to find an answer but he quickly asked why I was holding two coffees.
"Are you here with someone? Is everything ok?"
It's right for him to be worried, he's probably close with Dami.
"I came with Lee- Lee Know." I said, thinking up a name.
"Huh? Who's that?" He asked.
"Someone I met-"
"Anyway- can you get Minho to get back to me? He's not picked up any of my calls for a few days."
"I'll tell him."
"I'll see you later." He said, hurrying off back to work with a sandwich and crisps.
I hurried back to Dami's room.
"You never told me Woojin works here." I said, sitting back down in the chair, Dami perking up when I said 'Woojin'.
"Did you see Woojin-oppa?!"
"We discusses this Dami-ah, he is not your oppa!" Minho said, and Dami giggled.
"Yes- I saw Woojin." I said, enunciating the 'saw' to communicate to Minho that it had been an unexpected and shocking meeting.

"Sorry ba- Annie." He said, "He works in the sp-"
"Speech therapy, I know."
"And I lied, saying I was here with Lee Know- who the hell is Lee Know?!" I said, making both Dami and Minho laugh.
"I didn't know what to say about Dami- and he's worried about you because you haven't picked up your calls for a few days." I said, Minho nodded.
"I'll phone him now- you should phone Changbin too." He said, getting up to phone him outside.
"Why?" I pestered him.
"To tell him not to worry."
"Why would he be worrying?"
"There's a lot you don't know about your 'brother'." He said, and I rolled my eyes before he left the room.
"Dami, Do you like your sandwich?" I asked, and she nodded.
"The doctor should be coming at 1 o'clock so we have enough time to play a game, if you want?" I asked her, and she nodded.
"It's called- Who Am I? i give descriptions of something or someone and you've got to guess who I'm talking about." I said, she nodded along.
"Ok- he's got shiny grey hair, and has a funny accent-"
"CHANNIE!" She shouted, cutting off my description.
"Correct!" I said, laughing along with her.
"Alright, Another one-" I said, trying to think of something.
"OK! She's small, has black hair, a mole on her left cheek-" I said.
"ME! ME! ME!" She shouted, making me giggle now.
"Yay! How did you know?"
"Come on Miss Wang- these are easy."
"I'll give you a harder one then." I said.
"He's got black hair, and a small face."
"Come on- that could be everyone!" She whined, and I giggled.
"You didn't let me finish."
"He's also short, very short."
"Hmm-" She said, thinking hard for a few seconds.
"AHH! CHANGBINNIE!" She shouted.
"Correct!" I giggled with her, she smiled widely.
"I've got one for you, Miss Wang!" She said, happily.
"Alright- tell me." I said, chuckling a little. The door opened but I didn't see who it was, I was too focused on Dami.
"He has brown hair, he is very pretty, and loves the best person ever!"
"Hmm-" I said, knowing exactly who she meant even before she said the last bit. Though, it did make me feel cocky.
"Come on, how do you not know?!" She asked, smiling.
"Hmm- do you mean your dad?" I asked, and she laughed loudly, nodding and clapping too.
"YAY!"
"You're dad is very handsome." I said, blushing slightly and turning towards the door, seeing Minho there.
Minho walked over to the two of us, telling me the doctor was here so we should leave.
"Think of a colour for your cast Dami- we'll be back in a bit." I said, waving to her as he led me out.
"Do you want to talk now?" I asked him, sitting down in the waiting area's seats.
"Sure-" He said, holding my hand.
"Wh-" I said, noticing he had turned my body to face his.
"Huh?"
"Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

Legends rise. Country’s fall. Empires wage war. But what supports these great powers, allowing them to function as a single organism. Is it the common man, Farmers and Millers forming the backbone of the land? The Soldiers and Guards keeping public order? The Wives and Widows supporting from the side-lines? The Nobles from their seats of power? Or the elusive Sorcerers who wield power untold? And what maggots crawl in this great creature, all trying to get a piece of its slowly decaying flesh. The gangs of the Underworld hidden in the shadows? The Bandits and Deserters hiding at the edges, ready to pounce on any weakness? Witches and Warlocks working their dark art? Or other Nations clawing at their neighbour’s, salivating over the riches they stand to gain from another’s demise. There is one group that belongs to neither group. These are the merchants, the lifeblood of kingdoms, because what is the one thing above all else men crave. Is it Love? Power? Destruction? All these things can be acquired with one simple thing. Wealth. Wealth is the true power behind the world. Wealth can buy army’s, strangle kingdoms, and turn even the most devout man from his faith. Merchants come in many forms, shapes and sized, some gaudy, bleeding the people for all their worth, some tricky, preferring to make contracts and debts to trap men. And some desperate, doing all they can to sell even the most worthless of junk. This is a story of one merchant who goes against all a merchant stands for. He works not for profit but for some unseen goal, a prophesy aeons old. He comes and goes like a ghost, bringing with him hope and victory. All pray for his arrival to spare them from despair. But what about when he doesn’t show? What about the people he doesn’t save? For this man is no angel, no saint sent to save the masses. His goal was never to deliver hope. It merely isn’t time for their destruction yet. For nothing is eternal. And all things must end. But what comes after? Quick disclaimer in response to the review I got, this is my first story and somewhat of an experiment for me, hopefully my writing will get better the more I practice.
