You didn't know what to feel. Broken heart, hurt, played, anger, sadness, are some of the things you are feeling. Scott played you and you know that now. He only dated you to make Jean jealous. You now hated living in the mansion, you try to stay out with friends are just walking alone in the park to stay away from him. Rogue and Kitty tried talking to you, just like Evan, Kurt, Professor, Logan, Beast and Storm. You sit with your other friends at lunch now, and Scott has to admit he misses not having his arm around you at lunch. Scott knew he made a mistake, everyone knew he knew he made a mistake. He shouldn't have said that in the fight you two had. Now he was following you around the mansion trying to talk to you. You entered the kitchen were everyone was, you opened the fridge and grab a bottle of water. "Y/n would you just listen to me?!" Scott asks. You snapped. "So you can play me so more? Stop playing me! Do I look like a fucking game to you?!!?!" That shocked everyone, You walked out of the room. "I'm going out!" You call and walk out the door. You called your friend Heather(If your name is Heather change it). "It's okay Y/n," Heather said as you got into her car with tears falling down your face. "I gave him my heart Heather and he broke it. How is this going to be okay?!" You ask. There are 7 levels mutants can be, Jean is a 5 and you are a 6, with your powers to copy powers, looks, and voices. The other X-men say that you are a mixture of Rogue and Mystique. Heather being your best friend knew this. "Let's call my brother Tommy and give Scott a taste of his own medicine." Heather says. "Lets bring Kitty and Rogue in on this." You say. She nods and you call Kitty to tell her that she and Rogue need to meet you at the front gate. After you and Heather pick them up you go get froyo and explain the plan. "So Heather's brother is coming home from the Marines he's 19, so you two will sit with us tomorrow at the table right next to were the others sit, and I'll show you a picture of Tommy so we can give Scott a taste of his own medicine." You say.

You say and show Kitty and Rogue a picture of Tommy in his uniform, fully knowing the others were looking. "He's Heather's brother?! He's Cute!" Kitty says. Scott growled a little. "Thank You!" A voice says from behind you. You and Heather look at each other. "Tommy!" You to say together and hug him. Everyone is know looking at you three. "Tommy these are our friends Rogue and Kitty." You say introducing them. "How about you four join me for lunch?" Tommy asks. You, Heather, Rogue, and Kitty nodded and follow him to the office. "I just got back from a tour in Iraq and Would like to bring my sister and her friends to lunch." He says. They nod and you guys leave. Later when Tommy drops You, Rogue, and Kitty off you are met with the X-Men. "Where were you three?!" Logan barks. "With Lance Corporal Tommy Johnson. He just got back from a tour in Iraq today and brought as to lunch along with his sister." Kitty says. "A Lance Corporal? How old is he?" Professor asks. "19, I've known him sense I was 5." You say. "You three may go." Professor says. You all leave, Scott stops you. "Y/n I never used you to make Jean jealous, I was just mad and said it please, I love you and I'll do anything if you take me back." Scott pleas. You kiss him. "My plan worked." You say. "What are you taking about?" Scott asks. "To make you jealous." You answer. He shakes his head and kisses you again.

"You drop the plates being the only one to notice them. Everyone looks at you and then the Marines. You, Heather, and Heather's mom break down crying. Scott quickly hugs you. "He can't be dead Scott! Tell me this is some sick joke." You sob. "It'll be okay, you'll be okay." He whispers.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
