《Smile》One

"Yes, I love that smile!" Jordan, the photographer, yelled at Gigi and Jasmine. "Work it hunny!" I snickered leaning on the food cart."You're doing amazing sweetie!" He continued to yell.
"Ah, I love his enthusiasm." Kayla said grabbing a donut off the food cart.
"Nope," I snatched the donut out of her hand. "Your trying to keep a figure remember." I smiled and took a bite out of the donut, instantly regretting it as jelly shot into my mouth.
Kayla smirked at me. "Mhm your right thank you," she paused. "You must be loving that jelly donut."
I grimaced.
Nope.
"Yup." I said and kept chewing.
"Swallow the donut Y/n." She squinted her eyes still smirking.
I hummed. "I thought it was your job to swallow."
She gasped and smacked my arm. I finally swallowed the donut and laughed.
"I hate you." She said rolling her eyes.
"Mhm love you too." I walked towards the garbage and threw the donut away.
"You didn't have to throw it away asshole!" Kayla yelled.
"And that's a wrap! Great job ladies." Jordan said with a big smile. He always seems to be happy but I call bullshit, nobody can be that happy 24/7.
The girls walked offset and Jordan clapped. "Kayla your up next, get ready darling!"
I shook my head and walked over to Gigi and Jasmine who were looking at the photos.
"Good job you two." I smiled wrapping my arms around their shoulders.
"Thanks, babe." Gigi smiled.
"Are you going to the party tomorrow night?" Jasmine, my "friend" for plenty of years asked.
"Um, I'm not sure I wanna be around a bunch of stuck up rich people," I lowered my arms. "I hang out with this one too much already." I nodded towards Jasmine.
"Get smacked," Jasmine raised a brow. "I've only been back for a month and your already talking shit."
I nodded. "Rightttt, how was your trip to Cuba?"
Jasmine gasped. "Wait, are you actually being nice?" She pouted and reached forward squishing my cheeks. "Your crush back."
I rolled my eyes and smacked her hand away as Gigi chuckled. "Ohhh you had a crush on Jasmine?"
I smacked my lips. "It wasn't one-sided."
And a crush is a little bit of an understatement but...whatever.
Jasmine nodded. "But wasn't it?"
"Ouch."
Gigi chuckled shaking her head. "Seriously Y/n, you should come to the party, you'd have a great chance at landing a job since it'll be a lot of big businessmen."
I shrugged. "I have a job, I work here."
She shook her head. "A job you'll get paid more for."
"Exactly," Jasmine said looking down at the pictures. "All you have to do is show the men some of your work and they'll be all over you, I've been telling you this for years."
I don't even want to be a fucking photographer, I'm only in it for the money.
"Oh, and there's going to be a bunch of models," Gigi winked." You need some love in your life."
I don't need love, that shit is confusing.
I laughed. "You're so worried about my love life, sometimes I feel like your coming on to me," I raised an eyebrow. "Are you coming on to me Gigi?"
"Oh yeah, I definitely am." She said with a straight face.

"Wait for real?" I perked up.
Gigi laughed, a little too hard if you ask me. "You're funny Y/n, I have a whole meal at home." She smacked my back.
"Yeah your right, even I'd let Zayn do something strange to me." I sighed
"I bet." Jasmine chuckled.
I rolled my eyes. "But yeah, I'll think about coming to the party as long as someone's with me the whole time, I don't want to be alone."
"Don't worry we'll stay with you." Gigi gestured between herself and Jasmine.
"Or," Jasmine interrupted. " You could invite Quincy you know, get the gang back together."
I looked at her and frowned. "Jazzy, Please tell me you're not into Quincy now."
"Now?" She shook her head. "I was just suggesting you invite him," she put the camera down and looked at me. "So we can all hang out."
"Hang out my ass, I'd be very shitty if you like him Jazzy."
"Jealous huh? Sucks for you." She smiled and walked away.
Jealous?
I watched her continue towards the door and hummed as my eyes trailed down...
Maybe a little.
Gigi shook her head. "Eyes up Y/n, that's pretty degrading."
"Shut up, shes always degrading me."
I looked back towards Jasmine, but my eyes were averted towards the door when someone else walked in.
Jasmine smiled at the girl as she left the room.
And man was this girl pretty fucking gorgeous.
"Who the hell is that?" I asked tapping Gigi.
She waved at the girl. "Oh that's Vanessa, a good friend of mine, we're hanging out today."
She started to walk towards us and I panicked."Oh my God, why didn't you tell me about her?" I turned to Gigi. "Quick tell me everything I need to know about-"
"Hey G." I stiffened as I heard a voice from behind me.
"Hey, Nessa!" Gigi walked past me pulling Vanessa into a hug.
I began to slowly back away. I'd rather not embarrass myself in front of this goddess.
"Oh, Vanessa meet my friend Y/n."
Dammit, Gigi.
I slowly looked up and smiled. "Hi, I'm Y/n."
Vanessa nodded slowly while smiling. "Wow really? I wouldn't have guessed," she held her hand out. "I'm Vanessa."
Fuck, that smile.
I shook her hand and nodded as my heart started to race. "Really? I feel like someone just told me your name."
Lame ass.
She chuckled and pulled her hand away. "Wow, you were quick with that one, proud of yourself?"
I shrugged. "I mean it got you to laugh so...yeah kind of."
She hummed and ran her eyes down my body before meeting my eyes again. "So Y/n, are you hanging out with us today?"
"Well-"
"No she's not but, she'll be at the party tomorrow night." Gigi cut in.
Cockblock.
Vanessa bit her lip. "So I'll see you there?"
"If you want to."
She nodded. "And if I don't?"
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."
"I don't know, I'm not really the confrontational type."
"Aww man so your not confident?"
"Oh no, I have a lot of confidence."
I hummed. "Good because I like confidence."
She chuckled. "That'd be good information if I was trying to impress you."
I placed my hand onto my chest and pouted. "Ouch, and here I am thinking we're flirting."

She smiled again and no lie, my heart skipped a beat. "Your-"
Gigi cut her off and I frowned. "Hey, Vanessa why don't you go start the car?"
What the hell?
She glanced at Gigi. "Yeah um okay," she looked back at me and shrugged. "It was nice meeting you Y/n."
I smiled. "Nice to meet you too."
I watched as she left the studio and damn that girl is- this must be what love feels like. I hummed as my heart rate started to slow.
Yup, I'm in love.
Love is confusing my ass.
"Oh my gosh, you looked so in love." Gigi exclaimed.
"Shut up don't act all excited, why'd you make her leave?" I frowned.
"Well because I don't think you could handle Vanessa?" She questioned as she shrugged.
I groaned. "Gigi."
She shrugged. "Come on, do you seriously think you could handle her?"
I shrugged. "I don't know because you kind of sent her off," I pouted. "But, why wouldn't I be able to? Yeah, she looks like a Goddess but, look at Beyoncé and Jay Z anything is possible," gasping I shook my head. "You think I can't handle her because I'm ugly huh?"
She rolled her eyes. "Shut up dummy I'm not talking about your looks," she shook her head. "Look, Vanessa's an amazing girl but, she's horrible with her feelings and pretty shitty in relationships."
I scoffed. "Who said anything about a relationship? I thought we were talking about if I could handle her."
She frowned her brows and stared at me for a moment. "Y/n it's literally the same- shut up just, be careful if you decide to get close to her."
I chuckled and nodded. "Thank you for looking out for me Gigi."
"Anytime."
"But hey, I'm horrible with relationships too you think we could bond over that?" I gasped. "We could have a sleepover and cry about our failed-"
"Okay bye-bye." She pushed me away.
I chuckled and waved heading over to Jordan.
Pfft, I wonder if Gigi was trying to scare me with that info. It definitely didn't work if that was the goal because I'm pretty sure I'd sell my firstborn just to take that goddess on a date.
"Hey, I'm leaving." I said stopping in front of Jordan.
He smiled at me. "Great work today Y/n, I'll see you at the party yeah?"
"Yup I'll be there."
He smiled and picked up his camera. "See you tomorrow love!"
I smiled and waved at Kayla who was on set starting to pose then I headed towards the door. "Yes beautiful just like that!" Jordan yelled as the door closed behind me.
I shook my head and walked towards my car. Even though photography isn't my dream job, let's hope I catch somebody's attention tomorrow, Lord knows I need better pay.

"Honey I'm home!" I yelled walking into the house.
"Y/n what the hell did I say about yelling in my house?" Quincy asked.
Quincy, my best friend, is my anchor. He's kept me out of a lot of shit and without him, I'd probably be locked up for selling drugs or dead.
"Correction our house." I walked into the living room to see him sitting on the floor in front of the tv.
"Yeah yeah, how was work?" He asked really into his game.
"It was cool," I plopped down on the couch behind him with a big smile on my face. "I mean I am hanging around models all day."
"You sound chipper," he paused his game and looked at me. "What did you do?"
I laughed. "Why do you think I did something, can't I just be happy?"
He shook his head. "No this is a different kind of happiness in your voice, hmmm," then he gasped fully turning towards me. "Y/n did you meet someone?"
I laughed. "No, we barely said 5 words to each other."
He squinted. "How does she look?"
I sighed and looked up. "She's fucking gorgeous, her eyes are like this hazel-ish green-ish type of color, and she-"
"Wait dumbass," he cut me off. "Hazel-ish green-ish? Hazel is fucking green-ish."
I frowned my brows.
"Nu-uh."
"Yes, you imbecile- do I have to pull up google?"
"No dude let me finish."
He shook his head and turned back to his game. "Okay hazel eyes, what else?"
I shook my head. "Well, she has this tan skin that reminds me of those butterscotch candies every grandma gives their grandkids, and-" I stopped talking when I saw him smirking. "What now?"
He chuckled. "Nothing continue."
I rolled my eyes. "And she's just a girl that I might be attracted too because that's what happens when you see someone good looking."
He nodded. "Just attractive, okay."
I cleared my throat. "Anyways there's a party tomorrow night if you wanna come." I shrugged trying to change the subject.
He laughed. "Ok I'll let it slide for now, but I'm not interested in a party."
"Come on I need a friend, there's going to be a bunch of famous photographers there so I might have a chance to get my work seen."
He frowned his eyebrows. "And you need a friend because?"
I sighed. "I don't want to look like a loner, just come." He hummed. "So are you gonna come with me?"
He shrugged. "Probably I'll see."
I leaned forward. "You know Jasmine is back from her trip. She will be there and she may or may not be trying to talk to you."
"Why does she want to talk to me now? We've known each other for like five years and-"
"Maybe she was scared to talk to you then."
Quincy shook his head. "Whatever, why don't you just hang with Jasmine then?"
I shrugged. "Maybe I'm trying to play wingman."
He scoffed and looked down thinking.
He looked like he was having a mental debate with himself and I frowned since he usually told me everything.
"What's up?"
He shook his head. "Uh nothing, what time does the party start?"
Okay, I'll let it slide for today.
I chuckled and shook my head. "Ohhhh do you like our Jazzy?"
He turned back facing the tv and his shoulders visibly relaxed. "Shut up miss, her skin reminds me of butterscotch candy."
"Fuck you." I leaned back on the couch and started to think about this party.
I needed to get recognized so bad. If, no, when I start making money a lot of my problems will be solved. The saying "money can't buy you happiness" is the biggest lie I have ever heard. When I get rich I can finally help my mom and brother move out of that shit hole, but as of right now they have to rely on my "dad" to keep a roof over there heads.
"Ahhhhh damn creepers always blowing shit up!" He threw the controller down. "This is too much I need pizza." He got up and walked away.
I laughed getting up and following him to the kitchen.
