《The Girl Running From Shaw (X-men / Havok/ Alex Summers Story)》Chapter: 8

The blue beast was just standing in front of us. I was staring at him. I snapped out of my daze when the beast suddenly had his paw? Around Erik's throat. He probably said something stupid. Erik opened his mouth and all I could think was 'Shut up.' The way this beast was behaving. It scared me a little. Why? Because Hank is still the one controlling this blue mountain. Alex reached for my hand but I walked towards the ship. No time.
No one knew it but I am about to murder someone and his name is Shaw. They won't stop me. Even if I have to take them down too. Shaw dies.
"You okay?" I looked at Raven. My eyes hid the storm in my head. Hid my true objective. So in order to soothe her. I grinned and said:
"All good. Ready to save some lives." Raven nodded.
Okay so the plan did not go completely according to plan. Sean left and had a run in with Angel. My heart squeezed a little when Alex jumped out but I calmed myself. Beast went to have fun with Azazel.
Before Alex went, I grabbed his hand. "Don't you dare die." He nodded and jumped. I swallowed the lump in my throat ad got ready. I thought of my mother. My father. His blood on my face.
I felt the electricity run through my veins. I was ready. Can't say the plane crash helped though.
Then our plane found the ground. The very hard ground that crippled our plane like a rusty tin.
"Good flying, Hank." He sent me an apologetic look. We all clambered out. I just had a few scratches. Charles however wasn't going anywhere soon. His leg was injured...badly.
"I can't get through to Shaw." My ears perked at that sentence. Charles lowered his hand from the side of his head. Agent Moira was standing next to him.

"What?" Erik looked angry. It dawned on me that Erik and I might have the same objective. I shook my head, that is not possible. Charles had dealt with Erik's issues. He just didn't understand how deep my ran.
"I'm going." Erik set off. Charles looked at me. I nodded and followed Erik.
Charles must have thought if things got too far I would stop him but there was no chance of that. It was pretty nice in here. That's annoying. Shaw should not be allowed such a nice place. Oh, I am going to enjoy hurting him. This is for you, mom and dad.
We were so close and I really wanted this over with. I love Charles, I really do. But I hate when he talks in my head.
Shaw should be in that room.
"He isn't here Charles."I argued. Erik started freaking out.
"Where is he, Charles? He isn't here!" Erik was spinning getting angrier.
Keep looking. He has to be there. There is no where else he could be.
"I am telling you isn't here, goddammit." Then I heard it. A door opening and I turned to see Shaw in a metal helmet.
"Erik. McKenzie. My two prodigies." I felt the electricity in my hands as all the anguish I felt came to the surface. "So good to see you again."
I heard Charles in my head but I didn't reply. He would just try to stop me.
We walked in the room. There was a mirror on every corner. As we stepped in the door shut again.
"You fight for a doomed race that will hunt us down as soon as they realize their reign is coming to an end." Erik punched him and what I saw, I can't completely explain. Like his head split into two then joined again. Crap. "I am sorry for what happened in the camps." He looked at me. "In your house. I really am." I gritted my teeth.

Suddenly both Erik and I were thrown into the mirrors and they cracked. I heard a voice and realized it was Charles.
Whatever you are doing guys. Keep doing it. It's working.
"I did it for both of you. To unlock your power." He threw us again.
It is working. I am starting to see him but I can't see his mind.
Shaw walked in front of Erik with me behind him.
"You have come a long way from bending gates. I am so proud of you.' Erik jumped up and started pulling every metal pipe he could muster from the walls. None hit me but then Shaw just started to walk to Erik like nothing had happened. "And you have just scratched the surface." Erik started pushing a metal pipe forward but Shaw just kept walking. Metal was flying and it was probable that one piece would hit me. I just didn't think a pipe would go through my abdomen in the exact spot the bullet had five years ago.
"Ohhh, that has to hurt." I fell to the ground and coughed up some blood.
McKenzie, what happened? God Charles shut up.
"'McKenzie, I'm sorry." I waved off Erik's apology. Shaw walked over to me and crouched down.
"Remember the night I killed your parents? I do. Quite vividly actually. Your mom was so pretty. Too bad she had to go." I was on my knees and hands coughing up blood but nothing hurt like thinking of my parents...dead. I felt my anger build up again.
"I am going to make sure you never hurt anyone again." I launched myself forward and brought Shaw to the ground. I started to punch. I knew I couldn't use my powers because he would just absorb them. So I let all my anger out with punching. The thing is I felt no relief. Shouldn't I feel better. I am hurting him. But why do I feel so..guilty?
It didn't last long because he threw against the wall and the metal pole moved. I screamed in pain.
"Always so stubborn. But you will see. One day you will come crawling back to me." I chuckled through the pain.
"I wouldn't hope too much for that." Shaw turned back to Erik and pushed the metal closer to him. They started talking but I didn't hear anything. I lent against the broken mirror.
"Charles?" My voice was barely loud enough for me to hear it.
Yes.
"I think I might die today." I chuckled. "It is funny. I came here to kill him. To kill Shaw. But I don't want to anymore. It won't bring my parents back. All it will do is hurt me."
It is going to be okay.
"Don't worry about me Charles. Erik. Stop him." I had seen Erik got the helmet off Shaw and Shaw stopped like someone pressed pause. The piece of metal holding Erik back fell. He walked around and stared at Shaw. I looked at him confused as Erik put the helmet on. I knew Charles would have screamed in his head before he put the helmet on. But nothing, not even Charles, could calm Erik down.

Living in Paradise
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a group of people standing over me shouting "Happy Birthday!!!". Immediately after they start debating what type of world I came from and calling me 'William'. Later on I would learn that everyone here is reborn from another world and many children come with magic or superpowers or other gifts leftover from their old lives. I came from a world that was, to me, typical modernity. To them it was pretty boaring with the only thing interesting about my world being was a higher than average tech level for a non-spacefaring civilization; technology that wouldn't even work in this new world. All I brought with me was a peculiar mindset and the strong suspicion that there must be something more to life. Once everyone started to clear out my mother took me up in her arms, explained how the world works, and then stabbed me in the neck with a knife. I got better. -------------------- This story was written from the central idea of a simple question: What if a videogame like world, with all the normal video-game staples and tropes, was actually a real world? How would that work? How would people understand the universe around them? What sort of weirdness would the world appear to have from the point of view of someone who recognizes the odd nature of the place? And finally, if left to its own devices, how would this type of world ultimately develop?

He must claim his heritage if he has any hope of escaping the clutches of the forces that seek to use him." This is a work in progress. Major editing will be done after the book is complete, so there will be egregious typos and parts that make no sense whatsoever. Please feel free to point any and all of these things out. Chapters WILL get edited, and that editing might break earlier chapters. I will attempt to keep readers apprised of all changes. As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated. World Labyrinth
Meet our hero: an average young man with an average life, who ended up dying while working an average job. However, he's a given a chance to see another world at the final crossroads of his old life. The catch... well... he knows there's one. There always is. But, hey, when you're about to die, you take whatever opportunity's provided to you. This is the young man's story in the new world as he learns he can't afford to be average anymore. AUTHOR'S NOTE: I've decided to put this note up due to some comments and ratings left for this ORIGINAL FICTION complaining its boring. This story starts slow and it takes time for things to pick up. Also the MC doesn't start off as superman or become superman magically in two chapters. He also is AVERAGE... so it takes time to build up his character. Starting chapter 14 or so things pick up, but this isn't a pure hack and slash and skills level up story like most of the FF on this site. Just giving you a warning, so you don't end up disappointed and end up having to post large paragraphs complaining about the story... I also post on average every TWO OR THREE DAYS, so you'll get more to read.
