"Let's go for a swim." I told Calix at 2am as I caught my breath while lying on my back.
I got out of bed ignoring the pain between my legs and went outside.
I guess I'm going skinny dipping for the first time.
I looked over my shoulder and saw Calix coming after me. When I got outside I jumped into the pool.
Calix did a backflip into the pool and I rolled my eyes.
"Show off." I said blankly.
"Watch your mouth." He said before kissing me roughly.
I threw my arms around his broad shoulders before resting my head against his chest.
"I wish forever was ours." I said under my breath and Calix took my face into his hands.
"Forever is ours. No matter what happens it's always going to be you and me." He said before placing a soft kiss on my lips.
"Do you mean that?" I asked and he nodded before kissing me.
"You're perfect." He said softly and I blushed a deep shade of red.
"What would I do without you?" I asked before placing my face into the crook of his neck.
"Can I go to the mall tomorrow." I stated while looking at the water. "Your mom invited me."
"You can go. But I'm sending John with you." He said blankly.
"The bodyguard?" I asked in confusion.
"Yes Nevaeh. Your life is in constant danger, I can't let you leave this house without protection." He said and I sighed.
"Fine." What the hell do I do now? We'll just have to make a plan around the stupid bodyguard. I have a feeling that this isn't going to end well.
Calix and I swam the night away while getting to know each other better.

Why am I doing this to myself? To Calix?
I suddenly got out of the water before sitting on a beach chair. I covered my naked body with a white towel.
"Why are you acting so weird tonight?" Calix asked curiously before fixing himself a drink by the mini bar.
"I'm acting weird?" I asked in fake confusion.
"Yes, why what's going on?"
"It's nothing Calix am I not allowed to be a little weird?" I asked and he looked at me suspiciously.
"Sure." He said before handing me a cocktail. I wrapped the towel around my body like a dress before looking at the drink suspiciously.
"It's a martini Nevaeh stop looking at it like that." Calix said and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Well thank you." I said before kissing him. I took a sip from my glass before pulling my face in disgust.
"This is disgusting, people drink this?" I asked and Calix full on laughed at me. "Why would you drink that out of free will?" I asked and Calix held onto his stomach.
"You're crazy." He said through his laughter, I couldn't help but smile.
"So you won't drink alcohol?" Calix asked and I shook my head.
"I'll pass." I said pointedly.
"Good girl." Calix said huskily. He knows what that tone does to me.
"Am I gonna get drunk?" I asked curiously and he shook his head.
"No, you barely took a sip." He said and I sighed in relief.
"What are you drinking?" I asked while looking at his glass.
"This is Ciroc." He said before handing me the glass. I took a sip and it wasn't half as bad as the martini was.
I took another sip and Calix chuckled lightly.

"Slow down kitty." He said before taking the empty glass from me.
"It tastes like apples." I said with closed eyes. It's delicious.
"You're not drinking another glass." He said pointedly and I huffed out in defeat.
"Fair enough." I said before laying on my back.
We watched the sun rising together. Calix took a few pictures of me. I think he made a video too. I took a selfie of us while I kissed his cheek.
But he'll still have the pictures on my phone if these aren't enough. I can't believe this is the last memory I'll have of him.
"I need to take my shot." I said before heading towards the kitchen. "Wanna do it?" I asked him with a small smile on my face.
I handed him the needle and he fixed it before looking at me quizzically.
"Pinch my skin between your fingers. Yeah like that and inject me." I said softly. He pricked the needle into my skin before injecting the insulin into me.
"It's that easy?" He asked and I nodded.
"But don't be fooled it gets boring." I told him and he shook his head at me.
"Nothing about you is boring, Heaven." He said before kissing me slowly.
I pulled him by his arm and went upstairs to our bedroom. I laid in his arms on the bed and fell asleep like that.

Naruto Retsuden: Toru
[SI/OC Third Shinobi War]Well fought and well done. All of us fight as one. It took me three years to be able to properly read the faded out kanji of the flimsy poster that I keep in my back pocket. The illustration is colourful, bright reds and yellows. Colours that would definitely catch the attention of a child. The poster was carefully placed along the walls and fences of my village, level with the height of a four year old. I thought enlisting to become a Shinobi was a heroic deed, something I needed to do to save my family from poverty and to serve my country at the cusp of war. Then I graduated early to be deployed to the front lines.I am sadly and sorely mistaken. Warnings:Slow-burnNO OP-NESSRomance? What romance? It'll take at least 40 chapters or more before anything romantic happens.Realistic depictions of War from a child's perspectiveBlood and goreChild SoldiersPTSDRealistic character developmentTragedy. A lot of tragedy. Critiques much appreciated!

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
