Third Person POV

"So does the flour go in first or do the eggs go in first?" Seven year old Liam asks his friend Niall, brown eyes flickering between the two items.

The six year old does the same, slightly pouting "Ummm, I think the eggs go first."

Liam looks at him unsure, the younger boy looks up at him smiling happily. For a second his friend says nothing then ruffles Niall's brown hair "You sure Ni?"

"Yup. I'm sure LiLi." Niall rolls his bright blue eyes at his friend and grabs two eggs.

Following Niall's example, Liam grabs an egg and watches Niall crack the egg against the counter "See you crack it then all the gooey stuff comes out." The boy explains tongue peeking out the side of his mouth in concentration.

The older boy thinks its funny and giggles. When asked by Niall, he just shakes his head saying that its nothing. But the other boy persists wanting to know what his friend was laughing about.

"Leeyum! Please tell me." Niall whines pulling the puppy face.

Knowing he'll give in if he sees it, Liam turns his face away. Niall huffs annoyed, then his eyes land on something and his mouth turns up into a mischevious smile. He reaches out a small hand, scooping out the yucky stuff and smears it all over Liam's cheek. Instantly Liam turns around with a shocked face.

"Did you just put the yellow egg thing on my face?" He asks grossed out.

The blue eyed boy looks up proudly "Yup."

Liam's eyes scan the kitchen until he spots it. Before Niall can react, Liam pours syrup all over his hair. He smiles to himself, now they're even. Or so he thought.

"L-Liam." Niall cries out, tears threatening to spill over.

The older boy's eyes widen at the sight of his friend close to crying. He didn't mean to make him cry. It was just a joke. He scrambles to get towels to clean up the syrup in Niall's hair.

"I'm so sorry Niall! I didn't mean to! I'm sorry. Please don't cry. I flint like it when you cry." He rambles on trying to calm Niall down.

"Hey Liam?" Niall says with a hint of laughter.

"Yeah?"

"You're mean." Is all the young boy says before throwing a handful of flour at Liam.

Soon a food fight begins between the six and seven year olds. Their laughter echoes throughout the silent house in the early morning. Food covering every inch of the once spotless kitchen. Egg yolk I'm the counters, flour on the floor, syrup on the walls, and other food thrown across the room.

It's not until hurried footsteps coming downstairs stop the boys. They look at each other in fear, hurriedly hiding behind the couch in the living room not noticing the flour footsteps they're leaving behind.

"Oh my god! What happened here?" Liam's mum, Karen, screeches "Boys!"

But neither boy makes a move to show themselves, too scared of getting yelled at. Knowing this, Karen spots the footsteps rolling her eyes and following them. What she finds nearly makes her heart melt: the two boys covered in flour and syrup, holding dearly onto each other as if their lives depend on it. Liam had the younger boy clutched to him, Niall's head under his chin, arms wrapped around Liam's waist.

"Boys," Karen starts deciding to let it go this time "Why don't you go out back to the playground?"

At this, they jump up excited forgetting about the mess they previously made. "But clean yourselves up first."

With a sigh, they go to Liam's room to change. Niall had brought an extra two sets of clothes for his sleepover at Liam's for the weekend. His mum, Maura, had him go with a smile. The two bits were practically inseparable.

"Can't get me!"

"Yeah-huh!"

"Nuh-uh!"

The sounds of small running feet across the grass was heard as the two friends played tag. It was barely nine in the miring but for these two boys, it was never too early to play outside.

"I gotcha!"

Liam wraps his arms around a squealing Niall as he tries to get away. Unfortunately, he only manages to make them fall to the ground in a pile. Niall lands on top of Liam, both breathing heavily from running.

They just stare at each other smiling. But not in a romantic way, no. In a brotherly way, reliving all of their moments together. They always had each others backs no matter what, knowing each other like they knew themselves. A true friendship that no one could break.

"Hey Liam?" Niall breathes out.

"Yeah?" Liam answers.

"Can you push me on the swings?"

He pushes the Irish boy off, laughing as he does but nods. The other boy cheers and drags him over to one of the swings. Niall sits down, hands tightly gusted around the metal chains, feet kicking under him excitedly.

"Now Li."

Liam pushes him once, twice, three times, until Niall is up high in the air. He stops pushing just watching his friend laugh as he swings back and forth. Every once in a while he would yell out "HIGHER!" And Liam would comply.

"Hey Liam?" Niall says loudly.

"Yeah?" It's like their thing now.

"We'll be best friends forever and ever right?"

"Of course we will Ni!" Liam doesn't know who he would tell his secrets to if they weren't.

"Like Buzz and Woody?" Niall knows that Liam loves the Toy Story movies.

"I'm your Buzz." Liam replies with a big smile.

Up high, Niall looks down at Liam with the same smile "And I'm your Woody."
