Third Person's POV
Due to one traumatic experience in his younger life, Louis Tomlinson has a major liability; he stutters when he speaks.
He always thought that no one would possibly love him or tolerate his annoying hinderance. He was proven wrong when Harry Styles came into his life.
Harry showered him in incessant love and enamored compliments. Everyday, Louis questioned his seemingly perfect life. He always had that dark thought in the back of his mind that one day Harry would snap and everything would go wrong, so he wasn't surprised when that happened, but he can't say he wasn't wretched and that his heart didn't shatter.
One day Harry came back from work so frustrated and raging, but sadly Louis didn't notice that and didn't avoid his lover.
"H-har-ry, w-wh-at-s w- wro-."
"Oh would you just shut up for once! I'm sick and tired of having to hear your stupid stuttering everyday. I mean seriously? Can't you just say something without sounding so retarded and annoying? If you can't do that Louis, then please, grace us with your silence." Harry spat at him, momentarily blinded by his anger.
Harry was slapped back into consciousness when Louis's eyes dimmed and lost their childish sparkle that brightened his gloomiest days. He then knew that he had royally fucked up.
Louis felt like collapsing onto the ground and sobbing his broken heart out, yet not wanting to look more pathetic and humiliated, he simply nodded his head, turned around, and rushed upstairs to their room.
The feeling of never being good enough hit home, hard.
Louis hated that feeling with a passion.
He always knew that one day this would happen, but he had that glimmer of hope that Harry wouldn't do this to him, but now it was extinguished.

His Harry didn't want him anymore. That fucking hurt.
<><><><><><><><><><>
Harry fell on the couch with a look of incredulity overtaking his features. He can't believe he actually managed to say that to Louis.
Louis. His lover, his best friend, his soulmate, his sunshine, his world, the only person who can make him smile; he broke him. He knew that that was Louis's biggest insecurity, yet he pointed it out when he's supposed to be the one to make him feel like it didn't matter; that it didn't lower in his potential anything whatsoever.
In fact, it never bothered Harry. He always thought that the older boy was adorable when he tried to form a sentence, but all his words would come out jumbled and incoherent and he would become frustrated with himself, albeit he knew Harry understood him; he always understood Louis, and that seemed to make him feel a bit better about himself.
The way Louis's sparkling blue eyes dimmed the moment Harry spat the poison at him was still fresh in his mind. The look of sadness and hurt that flashed in his widened irises struck Harry. The way he simply nodded, turned around and left made him realize that he had messed up, big time.
Harry quickly made his way upstairs, the compunction becoming way too much for him to bear, and the need to make everything better for his boyfriend became too much; he needed to be Louis's panacea again, rather than the reason to his misery. He could hear Louis's sobs radiating throughout the whole house, which caused his heart to clench in sadness.
He swung the door open to be met with a sight that he desperately wanted to avoid. His poor baby was curled up in a tiny ball rocking back and forth on the bed while he continued to sob, and worst of all, he was chanting a heart-wrenching mantra,

"Y-you-re an-annoy-ying, wh-why w-would he l-love y-you, h-he de-des-erves be-bet-ter."
That was the worst blow to Harry's heart. He quickly rushed towards Louis, picked him, and laid him on his lap. He unclenched Louis's hands that had a vice like grip around his legs, lifted his tear streaked face, and smashed his lips onto Louis's.
He poured all of his feelings into the kiss; the sadness, the remorse, the love, and the adoration. When the need for oxygen became too much, Harry reluctantly pulled away.
"Boobear, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean anything from what I said. I love you; you're perfect. You're far from annoying, and if anything, you deserve better angel. I would never mean to hurt you like that. I love the way you talk; it makes you even more adorable. I'm so sorry baby, so sorry."
Louis simply nodded, pecked Harry's lips, and hugged him. When Harry realized that Louis didn't want to talk, he felt even worse if that was possible.
"Lou, talk to me baby. Please let me hear your voice; I'm so sorry I didn't mean what I said. Please Lou, talk to me."
Louis shook his head and further buried his face deeper in the crook of Harry's neck.
"Lou, if you didn't talk to me right now . . . no more kisses for you." Harry threatened whimsically.
"N-no! Ok-kay Haz! I w-will t-talk, and I for-for-give y-you." Louis stuttered frantically, momentarily forgetting about what happened, because he can't live without Harry's sweet kisses, they were like his personal treat.
Harry chuckled and snuggled Louis tighter into his arms, then locked their lips together in a loving kiss.
"I'm sorry Lou. I'm so sorry. I will always adore everything about you because you are mine, I love you, and I can't imagine living a life where you aren't in it, right here, by my side."
Louis nodded again, smiling at Harry. "I k-know Harry. I lo-love you too."
"You're perfect to me Louis, never forget that." Harry pledged before pressing Louis down into the mattress, connecting their lips together, and the rest was history.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
