Light trickled into house through the large windows. As the streams of sunlight touched Quinn's face, her eyes fluttered open. She felt arms around her and her stomach dropped, momentarily forgetting where she was.

"Good morning, sweetheart." Christopher said in a husky morning voice.

"What's going on? Why am I still here and why am I literally on top of you?"

"You were crying uncontrollably last night when I carried you over here. I was holding you and I guess at some point we both fell asleep."

"Like this?"

"Yeah," he said with a smirk on his face "just like this."

Quinn loosened herself from his grip and jumped up. "I have to go." She said as she paced the room collecting her things. "I have to make breakfast for the pack. God what time is it even? I'm probably so late."

"Quinn, wait." Christopher said in a serious tone. "You aren't going anywhere."

"What do you mean?!" She said exasperated. "I have shit to do! So, unless you're going to accept my rejection, I REALLY have to go."

"Stop. I already mind-linked your mom and Alivia. I told them you're okay and that you would have to miss breakfast. Evan is giving me the morning off. The two of us, need to talk." He said in a very matter-of-fact way.

"I said all that I needed to say to you." Quinn said in a huff, crossing her arms as she did.

Her little huff of defiance caused Christopher to chuckle. "Well, I didn't get the chance to say what I needed to say and you're going to hear me out. Now, come with me to the kitchen. Please."

"Fine." She said defeated. "But can I use the restroom first?"

"You don't need to ask, this is your house too. The bathroom is right down the hall. There's an extra toothbrush in there if you need it as well. I'll run up stairs and freshen up while you do that."

"Okay." She said grabbing her bag and making her way to the bathroom and locking the door behind her.

She always carried her bag with her. Inside she kept a few extra tubes of make up or some hair gel. She even kept an extra set of clothes as she was always afraid of any wardrobe malfunctions caused by her size.

She slipped out of her clothes and pulled her hair back into a loose bun. Searching the drawers, she located the toothbrush Christopher was referring to and brushed her teeth. She used the face cleanser to remove all of her make up.

After using the toilet, she wrapped her hair in the scarf she carried in her bag and hopped into the shower. She wanted to wash the night off of her. Quinn needed the clarity that came with a morning shower.

She quickly dried off and slipped on her tight black yoga pants and a high-low white tee that exposed a shoulder. Quinn took off her scarf, shook out her curls and walked back to the kitchen to meet Christopher.

He too had taken a shower. His curly blonde hair fell damply over his shoulders. He was wearing a dark grey tank top and sweat pants. Quinn had to bite her lip to contain her attraction. Luckily he wasn't looking at her, so it went unnoticed.

"Good morning, gorgeous." He said, planting a kiss on her forehead as she tried to grab a bottle of water from the fridge.

"You already said that earlier."

"I know, I wanted to say it again."

Quinn rolled her eyes and sat down. Almost as soon as she sat down, Christopher placed a mug of coffee with vanilla cream and a plate in front of her.

"You made me breakfast?"

"That's right. I know my way around the kitchen too, you know."

"Eggs Benedict, my favorite...And it looks delicious. How did you know?"

"I pay more attention than you think." He gave her a wink. "Eat up." Christopher said with a smile.

He took the seat next to her and they ate in relative silence. Every once in a while they would sneak glances at each other and Quinn would inevitably look away awkwardly.

"That was delicious, Christopher. Thank you."

"Of course. I look forward to doing this for you more often."

Quinn ignored the comment and rolled her eyes. "Could I have more of that coffee?"

"Sure." He stood up and made them both fresh mugs of coffee before putting the dishes in the sink and walking to the living room. Quinn trailed behind him.

She sat on one end of the loveseat with her legs underneath her and her back against the arm of the couch sipping on the warm liquid in her hand. Christopher sat on the other end facing her.

"Quinn."

"Yeah?" She asked nervously.

"We need to clear some things up right now."

"Okay.."

"I'm not accepting your rejection. Nothing you say or do is going to make me accept it. I don't think any of things you said last night are true. I know I can't convince you right now but I'm going to make you see yourself the way that I see you, even if it takes the rest of our lives."

"But why... why is it so hard for you to just let me go?"

"Because I love your dedication and hard work. I love your thoughtfulness and your kindness. I love your curls and your curves and of course your cooking. I love you, Quinn. All of you. Nothing you say or do is going to change that fact. Okay?"

Tears were forming in Quinn's eyes. She bit her lower lip and shook her head yes. "Okay."

"Okay." Christopher said with a sigh. "Now can you come here please? You're too far away."

Christopher took their mugs and set them on the coffee table. Quinn held her hand out and he pulled her close to him. Her back was against his chest and their legs were spread out in front of them.

Christopher shifted her to the side slightly and lifted her chin with his index finger so that Quinn was looking directly into his eyes. He lowered his lips to hers and they kissed, deeply and passionately, erasing all doubt and worry from their minds. In that moment, it was just the two of them.

"Finally.." Christopher said exhaling deeply in satisfaction.

"What do you mean finally?" Quinn asked with furrowed brows. "As if you knew this would happen."

"You're right. I didn't know. But I feel like I've been waiting for this moment for a very long time."

"Yeah... I guess I have to."

"Then will you accept me Quinn? Give this mate thing a real chance?"

"Yeah, I think I can do that."

"Great! When are you moving in?"

"Aren't you moving a little fast?"

"I was kidding. We can go as slow as you need."

He gave her a peck on the lips and shifted her so that she was on his lap. "Now, unfortunately, I really have to go. Evan is already pestering me to get to work."

"Okay." Quinn said with a smile.

"You can get comfortable, stay as long as you'd like." He paused for a moment. "You know, it wouldn't be a bad thing for me if you were still here when I got back."

"I'll think about it." Quinn said jokingly. "Now, go to Evan before he bites your head off for ignoring him."

"Alright alright." He said slipping on some sneakers and throwing on a t-shirt.

He walked back over to Quinn and pulled her in tightly giving her a kiss that lingered on her lips even after he was long out the door. She sighed and sat back down, taking it all on. The night before, it all felt hopeless and now she was really giving this a shot. She was doing this.
