《Todobakudeku x reader》(Deku pt.3) Never liked Spiders

"Well we should get to setting up camp before we can't see anything. I'm kinda afraid of the dark ya know." I say playing with my fingers.
"Good idea." He said turning around and dropping off of the ten foot hedge. It was at this moment that I didn't know how I was gonna get down. "Aren't you coming down too?"
"Umm one second. I just wanna... enjoy the view a little bit longer." I said coming up with an excuse.
Ten feet was a long way down. I couldn't just jump. I felt like I'd break an ankle or something and that wouldn't be good considering we have miles of maze to make it through. I once again had to rely on my time freeze, but the timing would be rough.
I jumped down the hedge and look down to send a time freeze bubble right on the area I would fall on, until I realized I can't freeze myself in a time freeze. The only thing I could do was panic. I closed my eyes and braced for impact, and then everything stopped. I wasn't falling anymore, but there was no pain or the feeling of broken bones.
'Am I dead?' I thought to myself.
I opened my eyes and there I was, in deku's arms.
"Aha. Thanks. Kinda thought I was gonna die there." I said leaping out of the bridal style position we were in. When I looked around, I saw that there was a tent spread out on the ground, but it wasn't put up yet.
"Yeah, I was struggling with that." Deku said chuckling at the site of the deflated looking tent.
"That's okay. My tent building skills are top notch." I said as if I was the hero of the day when in reality, he was.

"Really?" He asked, his face lighting up.
"No. I've never seen a tent like this in person my whole life, let alone put up one." I said. We both sulked.
"Well two heads are better than one right?" He said trying to point out the bright side of the situation.
"I guess." I said smiling and walking towards the bookbag Deku was previous carrying.
I grabbed a flashlight and put it on the ground, positioned so that it was facing the tent that me and Deku were going to attempt to set up.
The setup was unclear since there were no instructions and everything looked the same. From the poles to the pegs, to the non-existent hammer, we didn't know what to do.
"How about we just improvise? As long as we have something to sleep inside of, it doesn't matter what it looks like right?" I asked, loosing hope of getting this thing up properly.
"Well I suppose so." He said.
We took the tent and tied it to the hedges either side of the path and hammered the four pegs to the corners of the tent into the ground with our own fist.
"There we go." Deku said dusting the dirt of of his hands that was never there.
"Well it's something." I said cocking my head to the side.
"Hopefully it stays up." He said getting on his knees and climbing into the tent. I grabbed the flashlight and did the same, following him into the tent.
The inside of the tent was surprisingly warm and comfortable. It gave me a cozy feeling. It was kinda cramped being the two of us, but I didn't mind sharing my space with him.
We layed the same way, situating ourselves so that we could both comfortably lay down. I turned off the flashlight but things were still visible from the bright moonlight that shown through the tent.

From the corner of my eye, I saw something moving. At first, I thought nothing of it, but the more it moved, the more uncomfortable I became. My gaze strictly focused on the tiny moving object that was scarcely noticeable.
Then suddenly, the small object that once looked like a dot was slowly climbing onto the side of the tent. At that moment, because of the moonlight on the tent, I saw the eight legged creature.
"Hey Deku," I said turning around to shake him awake. "I-is that a spider?"
"Where?!" He said, now becoming incredibly aware compared to his previous sleepy state.
"Th-there..." I was able to say, my voice now shaking more than ever, barely being able to get the words out of my mouth.
"Y-Yeah I think so." He said, his voice shaking too. He slowly backed up towards the opposite side of the tent. I did the same until I couldn't anymore, leaving as much distance between me and the spider as possible. Deku blushed and hugged his knees.
'Does he have boner? Nahhhhhhhhh. Nows not the time for dirty thoughts' I thought to myself.
We both quietly watched as the spider slowly made its way from the side of the tent to the top of the tent. And then, it disappeared from our view.
"Where did it go?" I asked now more relaxed hoping it miraculously found its way out of the tent.
"Maybe it's gone?" Deku said with slight questioning lingering at the end of his statement.
"Phew that was clo— somethings crawling on my arm!" I said, being interrupted by the creepy crawling feeling.
I sat up and started spazzing trying to get the spider off of my arm brushing it with multiple items including: My hands, my shirt, Deku's hands, the tent, the flashlight, and every other object in sight. Until the feeling was gone.
I was breathing heavily but finally started to calm down. I looked back up at Deku to apologize until I saw it.
"What's up?" He asked oblivious to the current situation. I realized I was staring.
"It's.. it-it's on your hair..." I said backing up slowly.
Panic immediately spread across his face.
"Out the tent! Out the tent!" He said and we both headed out.
Once out of the tent, he shook his head and brushed his hair until he felt he was safe again.
"I don't think I can sleep anymore." I said grabbing the flashlight.
"Yeah me neither." Deku agreed. We looked tired af but couldn't get a second of sleep because of the ptsd that spider gave us.
"Well we learned something new about each other. We're both afraid of spiders." I smiled.
"Yeah I guess so." Deku said smiling, slightly causing him to blush.
"But what are we supposed to do if we see another one." I asked worried.
"We can just call Kacchan to come kill it. He loves blowing things up." Deku said.
We put the tent back in the backpack and started walking around the maze again.

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
