I was taking care of Judith with Beth, Judith was playing with some cups. Carl leans against the cell doorway.

"Hey, how's Judith?" He asks us.

"Good, and very cute as you can see." I smile and Carl kisses Judith on the top of her head. Making me go like: Awwwwwwww!

"Oh, it's my shift in the guard tower." I say and I sprint out of the cell and outside to the guard tower.

"My turn." I tell Glenn and he nods and leaves the guard tower.

I was up there for a while before I heard the door open behind me. I look behind me, it was Carl.

I knew Carl since it all started and we'd hang out at base camp. I sometimes went hunting with Daryl even though Lori tried convincing Daryl that I was too young to go out into the woods. He let me use his crossbow sometimes, it was cool.

"What's up?" I ask him and he walks up next to me.

"Just bored." He says, then there was an awkward pause. "...do you miss Merle?" He asks out of the blue.

I shrug. "Well, yeah. He's family. Even though he was a racist bastard, he was my brother. I loved him and Daryl did too, but he freaking just had to amputate his hand and bleed out and ultimately die." I vent and Carl gazes into my eyes.

I sigh and look away. "Sorry...you know my dad went back for him." Carl says and I roll my eyes.

"Yeah, I know that. Part of me thinks Merle deserved it...but most of me just misses my oldest brother." I mumble. I don't want Carl thinking I'm sad, I'm over it. It happened years ago. When I was ten, I'm fifteen now.

Carl stares at me and I gave him a sideways look. "What? Is there something on my face again? Dang it..." I say and Carl smiles and shakes his head.

"It's nothing." He says and I roll my eyes.

"Well, it's your shift now." I say and the sun starts setting. "See ya around..." I start to leave.

"Can you stay up here with me? It gets boring after a while." Carl asks and I nod.
