Ellie's POV:

Flashing lights are all I see as I'm trying to stay conscious, while being rushed into an emergency C-Section.

All I hear are nurses and doctors shouting CODE OMEGA! *This code is for a peripartum woman who has sustained enough blood-loss to be life-threatening* all I am being told is I'm losing to much blood and my babies are going into distress. I keep reaching my hand over the bed railing grabbing this male nurses hand asking " where's Theo?! Where's my husband?"

All I get in response " Ma' ma we need you to stay calm."

(Ellie passes out)

Beep! Beeeep! I groggily open my eyes and am blinded by bright lights. I blink multiple-times to try and focus on my surroundings. I can see a heart monitor, that must be what's beeping. I have a massive headache and the lights aren't helping. I look to my right and see Theo sound asleep with his head resting on my bed, holding my hand. Then I remember my babies. I look frantically around the room , but can't see them. My jolting wakes up Theo.

" Babe?... Y-your awake!" Theo says standing up and giving my head a kiss. He calls the nurse in.

" Hello Mrs. Knight, good to see your recovery is going well. I know you might have a lot of questions and I will try my best to answer them all. Your babies are stable and doing well in the NICU. You suffered a lot of blood loss from severe hemorrhaging. We needed to give you 4 units of blood. You will be weak for some time as you begin to heal and replenish your blood levels." Said the nurse.

" Okay, thank you. Can I see my babies please?" I say in a shaken voice.

" They will be brought in right away Mrs. Knight. We were waiting to see how you were feeling.It's time for them to feed." Said the nurse

I start to cry and say " thank you so much for saving me and them"

She smiles and walks out of the room to get my babies. Theo walks over to me and grabs my hands and says " love I have never been this scared. I was so sick to my stomach not knowing if you or the babies would be ok." He said while starting to sob. I start to cry as well. " have you seen them?" I ask him

" Oh Ellie they are beautiful. I can't believe they're here, our little angles. I have never felt so much love for something so small before" he says in admiration. I beam at him and he gives me a light peck.

" I'm going to text everyone that you and the babies are doing well and can come visit, does that sound ok?" Theo asks so fragilely as if I was going to break.

"Yes babe, that sounds wonderful. I'm still in pain so maybe In a few hours" I say.

He started to send out the text when all of a sudden I hear rolling of two small bassinets. My angels are here! Tears start to fall, I'm so over come with joy and love. The nurse lifts one of them up, I notice it's my little princess. She's so small and delicate. The nurse unbuttons her onesie and lifts it off of her tiny body. She's left in the smallest diaper I have ever seen. The nurse then unbuttons my gown and pulls it down to expose my shoulder and some of my chest. She said the babies need so skin to contact, then she will have a lactation consultant come in and explain how to breast feed. She places my babies on my bare skin and it's the most wonderful feeling in the world. I just stare in awe at these little human beings that have been brought into my life. Shortly after my precious baby boy is laid on me, Theo comes over and sits next to us and lays his head on my head and wraps his arms around us. In this moment I felt like my life is complete.
