《Flatmates》19

I awake the next morning feeling fuzzy, but without a hangover. I hop in the shower and quickly get dressed, going down to the kitchen to grab breakfast. I am almost done when Alex appears, looking worse for wear and in yesterdays clothes.
'I swear I am never drinking again' he groans as he pulls a bottle of water out of the fridge, grabbing painkillers from the cupboard and sitting next to me at the breakfast bar. 'Never. Again.'
'You say that every time' I laugh as I place my spoon in my empty bowl, picking up my coffee to take a swig. 'So how long will it last this time? 48 hours?'
'Nope. Never again. I am going tee total.'
'I will believe that when I see it' I say as I dump my breakfast stuff in the dishwasher, heading towards the door to put my shoes on. 'See you later' I call as I walk through the door into the empty hallway.
I meet my Uber downstairs, putting my headphones in for the ten-minute journey. Before I know it I am outside the warehouse, ready for another morning in the office. I make myself my usual coffee and head down to my office, mentally preparing myself for the morning admin.
'Morning' a voice startles me as I walk into my office, Harry sitting at my desk once again.
'What are you doing here?' I laugh as he stands to let me sit in my chair.
I'm not needed at the warehouse today, but I knew Jess would be here and I really wanted to see her. I don't know why, I just did.
Yesterday was so much fun, and last night was.. eventful. I didn't see it coming, but I am glad it did. The feeling when I kissed her was electrifying. Like nothing I have felt before.

I wait for her to print all of the invoices and postage labels, I know she loves routine and she won't divert from that. Once she is done I follow her over to her packing station, where she lays the two piles next to each other in the centre ready for her team. Then I follow her back to her office.
'What is next then?' I ask as she sits back at her desk.
'Emails, then I need to go home and sort out the next drop' she says simply as she pulls up her emails and picks up her coffee.
Once the emails are done and my team arrive, I grab my handbag ready to leave. I don't want to - I want to spend more time with Harry, but I have work to do. Unless..
'If you aren't doing anything, you can come to mine if you want? Help me choose which designs to use for the next drop?' I ask.
'Yeah alright then, I will drive.'
'Good as I don't!'
***
We sit at the breakfast bar hunched over my laptop for a good hour, before Harry and I finally decide on the designs for the next drop. I email them over to the manufacturer, then give them a quick call to make the payment. And just like that, the next drop is ready and will be delivered in the next few weeks.
I make us some sandwiches, and we go and sit out on the balcony as the sun is shining. We talk about merchandise, our careers and our plans for the future. It feels like me and Harry have been friends for years not weeks.
'You know, I haven't been on holiday in years. That's what I need - a holiday' I say as I tilt my head back to feel the sun on my face.
'I have been saying that for weeks, but the lads keep coming up with excuses. I need some proper sun' Harry replies as he does the same.
'I might ask Alex and George. It's not like they need to request leave from work.'

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise).
