《Flatmates》5

After about thirty minutes in Will's apartment, I felt right at home. Having met Will the day before, he just continued to confirm my gut feelings that he was a good guy. James was lovely too, and funny with it. I was practically suffocating in the banter with these lads.

Will seemed intent on getting me drunk, but after the previous night I knew it wasn't a good idea. Surely I couldn't wake up hangover free two days in a row? I can't be that lucky.

Whilst the boys talked, I just sat there and took it all in. It was interesting to me to see the four of them interacting together, laughing at inside jokes and just generally fooling around. I was so nervous that this move would be a massive mistake, but with these four as new friends I realise that I was going to have the time of my life. If I am ever sober that is.

We play drinking games and dance and fool around, until so much alcohol had been consumed that everything was fuzzy. Then there was two of everything. Then I think I remember sitting on a bathroom floor. Then nothing.

When I open my eyes the next morning, I am taken aback by a searing pain between my temples. Honest to god, it feels like there is a twat with a chainsaw in there. It takes me a few minutes to adjust, before I realise that this wasn't my room.

Oh good lord, what have I done?

I move my head slightly, the pain exacerbated by the movement. Will is lying next to me. Will. I am in Wills bed.

Oh fuck.

Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck.

Will suddenly rolls over, opening his eyes and looking at me. He laughed, presumably at the shock I was having trouble wiping off of my face.

'You look like you have seen a ghost' he smiled, wincing slightly. 'Don't worry, you were just too drunk to walk home, so after I picked you up off of the bathroom floor I put you in my bed. You are still clothed, nothing happened.'

'Oh thank fuck!' My mouth speaks before my brain can catch up. Whoops. 'I mean.. uhhh..'

'Hahaha don't worry, I know what you mean.'

Will made me breakfast and coffee, and as the sun was shining we took it out onto the balcony. It felt kind of awkward to be alone with Will as I barely knew him, so I concentrated on keeping my heart rate down and eating my food.

'So when are you gonna show me your artwork?' Will asks, putting his empty cup down on the table as he looks up from his food. 'I bet its proper killer.'

I laugh nervously, trying to buy time. It doesn't work as his eyes are burning into mine, waiting for an answer.

'I.. don't know. Its just paper, nothing special. No proper skill involved' I say, trying to avoid his gaze.

'Don't be silly, go on. Pleaaaaase?' Will begs, clasping his hands together in a praying gesture.

I contemplate running and hiding, but it isn't going to work. I grab my phone and pull up my website, passing it to him before I can change my mind. He is silent for a few minutes, eyebrows raising every so often.

'Mad. Proper mad. So you cut all of that with a knife like?'

'Yeah.. I said its not really proper skill.'

'Shut up. That is amazing! I have never seen something like it before. You know you are gonna have to let me watch you one day, proper interested now like.'
