《What happens in Vegas》Epilogue

I sat there in the waiting room of the hospital with her dad sitting to my right while my leg bounced up and down rapidly, the nerves torturing me. The door opened and one of the nurses stepped out to call in another one. I could hear her screaming in there.

"She'll be okay, Noah. She'll be great," her dad said, patting my shoulder reassuringly.

I sighed, rubbing my hands over my face, my heart rate going through the roof. "Shouldn't I be in there?" I asked, turning to him.

"Son, if she wants you there, she'll ask for you. Hmm? If I know my daughter, she ain't callin' you in there," he sighed, leaning back in his seat. He's so calm, it's astonishing to me.

"Why not?"

"Labor doesn't look too pretty for any lady, hmm? She's not gonna like her husband seein' her like that," he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes, He's probably not wrong, to be honest. That's exactly how she is. I'm not allowed in the delivery room as per her request while she delivers my baby. I think you can tell who took charge when she got pregnant.

Her screaming stopped and I heard a faint cry from inside the room. Moments later, a nurse came out with a baby. With my baby and took it to the nursery to wrap it up and bring it back.

I'm saying 'it' because Bella didn't tell me the fucking gender.

After ten minutes, the doctor came out and looked at me while I shot out of my seat.

"I told her to tell you, she was determined not to do it, she wanted to surprise you," Mrs. Mills chuckled. That's our doctor. "Congratulations, Mr. Hudson, it's a baby girl." She walked away after that and I turned to her dad, pulling him into a tight hug instinctively.

Only her parents and I know the pains she dealt with during this pregnancy. She would always be exhausted, tired, aching, craving the most random fucking foods. The door to the room opened and she was brought out on the bed that was being wheeled to the elevator to shift her to the room.

"Hi," she grinned up at me. The bed bounced lightly on the gap in between and she winced, "Ow! Be gentle, weren't you in there hearing me scream in agony?" She glared at the nurse.

"Sorry, Mrs. Hudson," she smiled.

"Where is she?" We asked at the same time.

"She'll be brought up soon, they're just cleaning her off and wrapping her up. Congratulations," the nurse smiled.

I was sitting on the chair beside her bed, my hand locked in hers while we spoke. "It's a girl?" I asked, still in shock.

"Yeah," she nodded, squeezing my hand. "What do you wanna name her?" She asked.

I opened my mouth to answer but I had absolutely no clue. "Um..."

The door opened and a nurse walked in with her wrapped up in a blanket, fast asleep. "Hi, hun," Bella sang, carefully taking her when the nurse handed her over. "One hand under her head always, hmm? She's very little, can't hold herself up yet," the nurse instructed.

If it was possible to ever have my heart pounding and being shit scared, it was happening right now.

"You look like you've seen a ghost, Noah," Bella chuckled.

"I um- I-"

"Here, hold her," she smiled.

"No, no, no, I-" She put her in my arms before I could even comprehend. I held my breath and stiffened, that's how terrified I became.

"Noah," she said, tilting my chin up so I looked at her, "Breathe. She's your daughter, hmm? She's okay, she'll be fine. See, I'll hold her head, you can give her a kiss right here," she explained, brushing her cheek with the back of her finger.

Bella spent the next hour telling me everything her mom had explained to her about having a baby. I knew I had to get my shit together so I could be there for her. So I could help her. So I could be a good father and take care of my daughter the way I should.

"Babe?" I looked up at her. "If we can get married at 21 and I can survive labor at 23, then we can raise our beautiful baby girl, all right? Just never again. I cannot go through labor ever again, okay?" she chuckled.

I brought her hand up to my lips, kissing it while glancing at our baby who was fast asleep in her cot. "Madison," I said.

"Madison sounds pretty," she grinned, "I hope that name didn't belong to an ex," she mumbled.

I laughed, noticing the way she stared at me in awe when I did. She's always done that. "I love you," I whispered.

"I love you too," she smiled.

"You should get some sleep, don't you think?" We both watched our daughter for a while before she turned to me.

"She's been sleeping for over four hours, she's not letting us get any sleep tonight," Bella mumbled, leaning her head back.

"Get some sleep, okay? I'm right here." I leaned forward and kissed her slowly before sitting back down. She kept her hand locked in mine, clutching it, and eventually dozed off.

Three years later...

"Maddie!"

"Yesh, daddy?"

"Where's your mommy?" I asked while seating her on my lap and putting her shoes on. Two hands covered my eyes and I chuckled, holding them down.

"Guess who?" she sang.

"Mommy!" Maddie screamed.

"You always ruin the surprise, don't you? Come here," Bella laughed.

"Daddy, where we going?" Maddie asked, picking up her teddy from the couch while Bella slipped on her other shoe.

"Uncle Oli's getting married today," I sang.

"Uncle Lucash?" she giggled.

"No, Uncle Oli. And you're auntie Charlotte's bridesmaid," Bella grinned at her while pushing her hair back and putting it in place with a clip. Charlotte went all out for the wedding with Oli. Bella was talking about how she did everything different than we did.

We had a small wedding, a fairly small reception, and a big honeymoon. Bella's logic stated: If we're going to blow all that money, we should blow it on us, not on treating guests. I couldn't have been happier to have her as my wife.

Charlotte had her bridesmaids as Bella, Maddie, Ava, and Delilah. Delilah is Ava and Lucas's daughter. They had her a few months after we had Maddie and both of them get along really well.

It's good knowing your kid is best friends with your best friend's kid.

"Mommy looksh pretty," Maddie laughed, sitting in my lap while Bella grabbed all her things.

"Mommy lookin' real pretty," I smirked, leaning back.

"Daddy's gonna look like a real idiot if we're late," Bella said.

I set Maddie down and stood up, walking over to her. "I wouldn't mind being a little late right now," I said, wrapping my arms around her waist from behind, resting my chin on her shoulder.

"Is that so?" she chuckled. I placed a few kisses on her neck, looking down when I felt Maddie tugging at my hand.

"Yes, baby?" I turned to her.

"We're getting late, daddy!"

"Hmm, just like your mother, okay, let's go," I huffed, picking her up. I grabbed the keys and her teddy for her while Bella got the little backpack that she took everywhere and then we headed to the wedding.
