《Setter Ace of Shiratorizawa》25: Aobajohsai Third Years

"Morning~" Oikawa sang as he leaned over me. I groaned, then yawned before opening my eyes.
"Morning.." I mumbled as he moved so I could sit up. "What time is it?"
"It's nine am!"
"Why are so so chipper right now?" I gave him an annoyed look as I threw the blanket off of me and stretched.
"Because you're here and I'm super excited for today!" Oikawa cheered, then started humming as he headed towards the door. "So come on, let's go!"
"Geez, what a weirdo." I giggled to myself as I stood up and followed after him.
After a nice breakfast made my his mom, we headed out. Since we were going to his school, Oikawa had loaned me one of his practice shirts so I'd blend in if anyone was there.
"So, um, I know this probably isn't the best time to ask this, but are you still mad about the, uh... The kiss?" The brunette asked softly.
I raised an eyebrow at him and shrugged. "No, not really, why?"
"No reason, it's just that the last time we talked you... Ran away..."
"That's because you're hotter now than in middle school, idiot, so I was blown away by it." I joked, causing him to blush. I looked surprised, I thought he was gonna start laughing.
"You really think so?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck shyly.
"100%." I patted him on the back. "But, that does not mean I'm gonna go out with you."
"Yeah, I figured as much. You aren't a skin deep kind of person in that department..." Oikawa sighed, glancing down at the ground.
"I can tell you've grown, so don't worry, you're not off the list." I winked playfully, to which he looked surprised before grinning at me.
We arrived at Aobajohsai at 11:30am, walking side by side as we entered the campus. "Wow, it's been a while since I've been here."
"Yeah, a whole month." Oikawa smiled, "oh hey, there they are." He raised his hand in greeting. "IWA-CHAN! MATSUN! MAKKI!"

"Hey!" Hanamaki waved back as the other two nodded.
"Hello!" I grinned as soon as we were within comfortable talking distance, "Nice to see you guys."
"You too," Matsukawa nodded with a smile. "So is it just us or-?"
"Nope, I texted Yuda, Sawauchi and Shido and they're coming as well, should be here soon." Oikawa said, "come on, let's go~"
"How in the hell did Oikawa manage to get you to come here?" Iwaizumi asked as we headed towards the boy's gym.
"He asked if I could sleepover because he wanted to sulk so I agreed." I shrugged.
"That's it?" The ace's eyes widened as I nodded. "Wow, wasn't expecting it to be that easy."
"What?"
"Nothing, nevermind."
"If you say so." I gave him a skeptical look. When we got to the gym, Iwaizumi unlocked it and we all went inside, putting out stuff down and grabbing our shoes and knee pads.
"Hey! Sorry we're late!" Kaneo Yuda, Motomu Sawauchi and Heisuke Shido all ran in, panting against the door way as the others greeted them.
"No worries~ You guys remember Kazane right?" Oikawa lazily draped his arm over my shoulder, to which I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, I think so." Shido nodded, smiling at me. "Nice to see you again!"
"You too!"
"Alright enough chit chat, are we gonna play or what?" Iwaizumi asked in annoyance as he brought out the ball cart.
"Yep! Ready whenever you guys are!" I cheered as I headed to grab a ball to warm up with.
"Kazane! Warm up with me pleeeeaaassss-"
"Sure!"
Grabbing a ball from the cart, I grinned at Iwa before heading back to throw the ball at Oikawa. "Akkk! Don't pick up Iwa's habit!"
"You're supposed to pass it back, genius!"
"I know thaaaaat!"
"What's up with them? Weren't they on bad terms the last time your guys saw her?" Makki asked Iwaizumi, who shrugged.
"DON'T HIT IT SO HARD AT MY FACE!"

"I'M NOT EVEN HITTING IT HARD ENOUGH TO GET IT OVER THE NET, GROW UP OIKAWA!"
"MY HANDS AND FOREARMS ARE RED KAZANE!"
"NOT MY PROBLEM!"
"Guys can you stop shouting please, we aren't technically supposed to be here..." Sawauchi said, so we apologized and peppered the rest of warm up in silence.
"Alright, time to pick teams~ Kazane and I are captains." Oikawa proclaimed.
"Really? I'm surprised you're having her be captain, don't you want to play with her?" Yuda laughed slightly as Oikawa flushed.
"I-We can change it up next game!"
"Uhhuh, sure thing." Iwaizumi snickered, the rest of us joining him as the brunette setter pouted.
"Come on guys!!!" He whined.
"Alright alright, as funny as that was, we should get started. You pick first Oikawa." I told him so he nodded with a smirk.
"Iwa-chan!"
"Saw that coming.." The ace sighed as he walked over to his childhood best friend.
"Matsukawa, mind joining my team?" I asked, to which he nodded.
"Sure thing."
"Makkiiiiii!"
"Yahuh."
"Shido?"
"Sure."
"Yudaaaaa!"
"Sorry Sawauchi, guess you're left with me. I promise you won't regret it." I gave him a smile, to which he just laughed and gave me a thumbs up and a grin.
"No worries, I believe in us!"
"Good, now let's go." I said, and then we were on either side of the net.
Oikawa
Iwa-chan - outside
Yuda - middle back
Makki - right side
Kazane
Mattsun - middle back
Shido - outside
Sawauchi - right side
"Alright guys, whatever you want to do is cool with me, just let me know." K told them, so they relayed what kind of sets they wanted.
"Let's do some time lags." Mattsun suggested, so I nodded. Then the game began, and it was Oikawa's serve.
"If we need I can pull back to receive." I said to my team, who shook their heads.
"Nah we'll be fine."
Four points later...
"Please pull back!"
"Sure! Matsukawa, mind getting second if I get first?"
"No."
"Alrighty! Let's do this!" I grinned as we stood in our new formation, me in the middle with Mattsun up at the net.
"Switching things up I see~" Oikawa smirked, then served. It went to Shido, who shanked it. However, I managed to run it down before it could hit the ground, getting it back up.
"Send it!" I yelled as I got back up. Mattsun set it over, sending it to where Oikawa was.
"Makki!" Oikawa said as he received.
"Got it!" The light haired male said, "Oikawa!" He set it to the brunette, who did his approach.
"Matsukawa!" I called, making sure he knew to be blocking since narrowing down the area will help with the receive.
"Right!" He confirmed, jumping with his hands up. Oikawa easily avoided his block, aiming at a spot next to Sawauchi.
He managed to pick it up, so I got under it. Glancing at Mattsun, I did a back set. The ball hit the ground with Iwaizumi diving after it.
"Nice one!" We high fived all around as the opposing team watched us with intrigued eyes.
The rest of the game was fun, it was definitely a struggle but it was hilariously fun.
Oikawa's team won the first, then we won the second, then we won the third. After that, we switched up the teams.
Just to make it fair, we had Oikawa and I against the rest of them. Our duo still won even with no other players, we were just that good.
At the end of the day, I said goodbye and let Iwa and Oikawa walk me home. "So, who's idea was it in the first place?" Iwaizumi asked as we walked
"Mine." I told him, glancing at Oikawa. "Just thought we should have a stress free day where we just play some good ol' volleyball, ya know?"
"Well it was a great idea, thanks Kazane." Iwaizumi grinned at me, and I returned it.
"Sure thing!"
~•~
In silence, Oikawa smiled. He has gotten what he had wanted, she was smiling at him again. She was playing with him again. She was with him again.
Now on to phase two...
