《Setter Ace of Shiratorizawa》21: The Finals
Advertisement
The next day, Shiratorizawa dominated. Winning the first, second, third and fourth rounds almost easily. Kazane was kind of bummed when they didn't play Karasuno, but she got over it. The girls were on a roll. However, they were not the only ones.
"Man, I'm so nervous.." Kamada held her stomach as a few others on the team did the same.
"This is so exciting!" Kazane grinned as she looked around in awe. "So many people!"
"Your enthusiasm is making it worse, please stop." Hana grumbled, making the ace pout.
Finally, Niiyama girl's high came into the gym, walking confidently onto the court. Kazane's eyes narrowed at them. Then, it was time to start warm ups.
For their seven minutes on, they did hitting lines and Niiyama shagged what Yumiko couldn't stop, mostly Kazane's hits when she spiked them.
Switching with Fujimura, Kazane set a few before time was up and Niiyama was on. Shiratorizawa shagged for them while they did their hitting lines, then went to opposite sides to serve.
After that, it was time for the final match of the preliminaries to begin. "Thank you for the game!"
"Now, I would like to introduce each team's starting lineup. Starting with Shiratorizawa, number 9, Kazane Kageyama." I high fived my coach before making my way across the court and waving at the fans with a grin.
"Number 4, Emica Aguni."
"Number 5, Seiren Ejiri."
"Number 1, their captain, Azusa Shirashi."
"Number 2, Tani Chiyako."
"Number 8, Mirai Kamada."
"And number 7, libero, Uyeno Yumiko."
"And now, we will introduce Niiyama's starting line up. Number 1-" And so they were all introduced, the crowd going wild as each team bowed to the other.
"Thank you for the game!" Shaking hands, they stood out on the court and waited for the ref to check the lineups.

"Let's do this!" Kazane cheered, going around and high fiving all of her teammates. "Alright, don't hesitate to jump wherever, you'll get the ball."
"We trust you, Kazane." Ejiri, Yumiko and Aguni said in unison, causing Kazane's eyes to widen before she grinned.
"Well I trust you guys too."
With that, a ball was tossed to Kazane and she stepped beyond the line, backing up so that she was far enough away to do her jump serve.
The ref blew the whistle, signalling for the serve. Throwing the ball up, Kazane jumped and hit it. Flying over the net, their libero got it up. "Mine!" Their setter yelled, sending it to the outside.
Kanoka hit it down line, but Kazane was there, ready and waiting. She received it, but it was a bit short. "Cover!"
"Kazane, all you!" Yumiko yelled, passing the ball so it would be high enough for her to get in a full approach.
Doing just that, she jumped and appeared to be going for a line shot, but instead went for a cross court shot. No one even touched it as it landed on the side line, and the line judges called it in.
"YES!"
After a little come together to celebrate the point, Kazane went back again to serve. They got it up, this time getting a point as their middle tipped it.
They served it over, right to the place Kazane came up from, but Aguni was ready. She received it, getting it around the five foot and nice and high.
Getting under the ball, Kazane ran through a million scenarios before glancing at Azusa. Because she had used that trick before, the Niiyama girls immediately took Azusa off the list of potential attackers.
However, she was exactly the one they should have paid attention to, because as soon as she made contact with the ball, Kazane sent it to Azusa who was already in the air along with Ejiri.

Niiyama girls scowled at Kazane as she smirked. "Get ready." Kazane told Ejiri softly as she passed her, "it's your time to shine."
"Right." She nodded. The next person to serve was Aguni, who got the net and it was an ace.
"Nice serve Aguni!"
"Get another one!"
The next serve, Yumiko dug up Kanoka's cross court spike. Then, as Kazane got under the ball, Ejiri came in for a quick.
They got a one touch on her, but it was too far gone for them to get so Shiratorizawa got the point. Ejiri and Kazane exchanged a look. The next time they went for a quick, Niiyama's blockers were caught off guard when they did a time lag, getting them a point once again.
"Nice one!"
"Way to go you two!"
"Coming your way." Kazane muttered to Aguni as the outside hitter went back to serve again. With a nod, she waited for the ref to blow the whistle, then served at the setter.
Now out of system, Niiyama passed to their outside spiker, who shot the ball off the block. Yumiko managed to get it, and as Ejiri, Azusa and Chiyako went for a first tempo, no one except the audience noticed Aguni come from the back row for a one abs a half tempo.
Another point made it 5-1, but then Niiyama scored. The rest of the game went back and forth, the first set ending at 25-23 Shiratorizawa, all thanks to their lead.
"We'll take the next set!" Niiyama's captain cheered, her teammates joining her as Kanoka glanced at Kazane.
"We took the first, so let's take the second." Kazane smirked with her hands on her hips, "ya know what? Let's just make it straight sets!"
"YEAH!"
"Circle up ladies," Azusa said, all of them putting their hands in, "Shiratorizawa, fight!"
"Fiiiight!"
~•~
"Ah crap we're late!"
"Hurry up, hurry up!"
"I'm hurrying, geez!"
"Try not to trip you two."
"We're not gonna trip Akaashi!"
"You almost did, twice."
"Why am I even here?"
"Because you wanna see Kazane play as much as the rest of us, Kenma!"
"Oh shut up Kuroo."
"KAZZZZYYYYYYY!" Bokuto shouted as soon as they got out into the open second level, waving frantically at the girl.
Hearing her name, she glanced at the boy before grinning and waving happily back as Kuroo and Akaashi joined the owl while Kenma was playing a game, she assumed.
The four boys watched the game, cheering for their new friend as she played. From what they had seen so far, everyone at the finals knew that it was going to be a struggle for who was going to go to nationals that year.
And a struggle it was. The second game was taken by Niiyama at 28-26, and then the third game was won by Shiratorizawa at 27-25.
The fourth set was the best, because Kazane was now all wound up and ready to go off on their asses. And go off she did.
The finals ended with Shiratorizawa as the victors, winning the fourth set at 25-19. "WE DID IT!!!" The third years cried, clutching each other as they tried not to cry.
The first and second years were all practically bouncing with happiness as their energy was renewed and they ran around like headless chickens. "THAT'S EBOUGH!" Azusa laughed, then hiccuped as she wiped her eyes. "Guys, we are going to nationals."
"YEAH!!!!!!!!!!"

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise). If you are a first-time reader, feel free to start from the other Volume.
