The inside of his car was warm, the leather seats had heaters in the backs of them which ran up my spine. Sensations of warmth made goose bumps rise on my skin; being warm felt so good.
The heat made my skin crawl with a softness that I found comforting, "Where're you taking me?"
"My house, ya need to be checked over. I can't just leave ya there, can I? I didn't realise a pretty girl like you was there." He looked over at me, his lips tilted into a cocky grin.
I stayed quiet, not knowing how to reply to him. It felt like everything he was saying was rhetorical, that he meant absolutely nothing. A part of me believed that he'd only brought me home to stay in his bed. He was extremely intimidating, especially with several masked men surrounding him. I felt small and fragile. I wanted to go home-I wanted my family! I was done with being fake! I'd grown around this, why was I so afraid?
"Ya ain't very talkative are you?" He said, rubbing his hands over the hair on his jaw. I was scared to move, his eyes stalked me like a hawk watching it's prey.
"Sorry." I mumbled. "What's your name?"
"Jayceon." He replied, leaning forward on his knees, his fingers intertwined with one another. "What's your last name?"
I simply shook my head, refusing to share my dad's identity.
"Be stubborn then, it'll come out at some point." Jayceon leant back in his chair, his arms behind his head with his legs split in a masculine manner.
"We're almost there," Said the driver, a dark skinned man with a toy boy face.
Jayceon sighed softly, shrugging his hoodie off, "Lean forward."
"What?" I raised my eyebrow at him.

"Lean forward." He repeated, this time more demanding with his tone.
I leant forward, unsure of what he was doing.
Jayceon wrapped his hoodie around my shoulders,"Ya look like you're gonna turn blue. Wouldn't want that now would we?"
After half an hour we arrived at his house. He got out and went inside. His house didn't look amazing, it looked like an ordinary house. Two floors without an attic, four windows at the front and a wooden door that was painted black. There was a garage attached to the side. I knew straight away why a notorious gang lord like Jayceon Taylor didn't live the highlife so obviously. Living in a rundown place attracted less attention, but the cars on the front garden definitely attracted the eyes of the neighbourhood.
Several cars were parked on the front, including a red Alfa Romeo 4C, a white Audi R8 and a matte black Lamborghini Aventador.
I was taken upstairs immediately, my clothes were ripped from me and I was put under the shower.

Dreamer/Leveler
Zachary Trenner is a freshman at Burlington High School. Despite his mundane appearance and advanced course curriculum, something strange is happening to him. Every time he goes to sleep he switches worlds. Portals are popping up everywhere, allowing access between Earth and the world of Vera. Now he must spend every waking and sleeping moment getting stronger to fight off the [Instance Dungeons] opening on both Vera, and Earth. Prepare for an RPG fiction full of magic, action, a touch of romance, and the author's own dry humor. When the modern technology of Earth meets the medieval magic of Vera, which culture will invade the other world first? When the army rangers of the United States collide with the members of the Hunter's Guild, who will win? Updates on Wednesdays/Thursdays Cover is my own creation. Tips to reading: This is my first book, so cliches and tropes are used as the base and then expanded upon. My intention is to make it a casual read but deep if you decide to look closer. I'm not a people person, so my focus and purpose for writing this is to explore the world building and magic system, not necessarily the characters. There won't be a villian until the postgame ;) Author's philosophy: I took an professional personality inventory (through a community college back in 2018) and was categorized as a "double-checker." I'm never satisfied with the work that I complete, and never want to share it with anyone. But this book is a challenge to myself! As a rule of thumb, I will only add to the story. I can't remove elements I've already included (unless absolutely, absolutely necessary). PS, I'm a native English speaker.

There was a girl whose feelings changed the world around her, and with every step little smoke clouds emanated from her feet. Her soul pulled right out of her chest like a long, blue comet with a tail, and swirled around her body like a protective blue flame. When she walked in a tight space the very metal itself around her melted and shifted so that she was walking in a cage of blue light, a cage of her own devising. Out of hiatus, but with a hitch. . Read most recent "chapter", Status Update, for more info. Trapped for thousands of years. Betrayed by the ones he held dear, the ones he called family. Finally set free by happenstance, Amrin sets out to find the ones that locked him in the heart of a mountain. Find the answers he's been asking himself while conscious within the darkness. The world has changed in his time away. Learning new things, meeting new people, struggling with questions he may never get the answers to. He will journey through this new world and search for the "family" that betrayed him and figure out why they did it. If they did not have the answers he was looking for, there would be consequences. *This is a VERY HEAVY story driven fiction (read: can be slow!). There are some sections of action, drama and soon/eventually, mature related content (sexuality and gore). There are going to be sections with lots of text and little dialogue. There's going to be sections with lots of dialogue and little descriptive narration. ***Word of warning and advice. To save yourself the potential disappointment! The MC is mostly a pacifist! If you're looking for a super OP protagonist that uses his powers to get what he wants and to hell with the consequences, this story IS NOT for you. There are times when it should be obvious why, other's it's only implied. Either way, if you are expecting "shoot first ask questions later" mentality from the MC, regardless of how powerful he is, save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere. I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all the readers and commenters of my story. It's all the positive feedback and comments that really give me the motivation to keep going. Honestly. It sounds cheesy, but it's true. So, again. Thank you!
