"I'm hereee, the party has officially begun!" Kelsey announced as she walked in Johnny's apartment.
It was around eleven, just after the battle of Alberta, that the Oilers won. Surprisingly, most of the guys were there, as she recognized a lot of the Oilers and all of the Flames. She also saw a lot of the Inferno girls, mixed in, talking with the boys.
After the brown haired girl announced her arrival, a lot of the boys had started to make their way over to her, of course her best friend being one of them.
"Hey Kels!" Matthew slurred as he slung an arm loosely around Kelsey's shoulder.
"Hey boys!" Kelsey yelled over all the noise, as Connor, Ryan, Darnell, and Sean all made their way over to her as well.
"How are you?" Connor asked, pulling her into a hug.
"I'm great," Kelsey turned, "And Matthew, you're drunk." She stated, looking at Matthew as he stumbled slightly, then regaining his balance.
"Am not." He remarked, his eyebrows furrowing.
Kelsey crossed her arms over her chest, "Yeah okay, sure."
"Okay, well we'll see you around Kels." Darnell interrupted, clearly not wanting to stand around well the two friends argued.
"Yeah okay," Kelsey said, waving him off as she continued to look challenging at a drunk Matthew.
The three edmonton boys disappeared, however, Sean stayed near. He stayed close, off to the side, silently watching the two best friends interact. It was mostly so he could make sure Matthew didn't do or say anything stupid, however his curiosity got the better of him, and he also stayed so he could watch the two be together.

"You just need to let loose and have some fun." Matthew stepped closer to Kelsey.
The brown haired girl, took a step closer to her best friend, challenging him. Without saying anything, she grabbed the half drank beer from Matthew's hand, and chugged the rest of it. She shook the now empty can, before chucking it to the side.
Matthew stared, his jaw slightly dropped, as he watched his best friend do that. Part of him couldn't believe she just chugged the beer, the other part was still trying to get over the fact she took his beer.
"Fun enough for you?" Kelsey asked a still shocked Matthew.
Matthew quickly nodded his head, "You know, that right there is why I like you. It's too bad you have a-"
And that was Sean's queue to intervene. "Hey Chucky, lets go get you some water, you can talk to Kels later. "
"But I-"
"No, lets go man." Before Matthew could say anything he'd regret, or protest, Sean dragged him away, towards Johnny's bedroom, two water bottles in hand.
Kelsey sighed, then deciding that she did need to let loose a little. She walked into the kitchen, and went straight towards the fridge. As she closed the fridge, a beer in her hand, she came face to face with Oscar Klefbom.
"Hi Oscar," She smiled at the boy, cracking open her drink and taking a sip.
Oscar smiled, leaning up against the fridge, he replied. "Kelsey."
Kelsey could practically taste the alcohol on his breath as he spoke. "How many drinks have you had?" She questioned the boy.
Oscar seemed to ponder the thought for a second. "Five. What about you?"
Kelsey nodded her head, before holding her beer in the air. "I've had a half, this is my first."
the boy nodded his head, and stayed silent for a moment. A smirk made its way onto his face as he grabbed Kelsey's hand. "Well, we're going to need to change that."
Kelsey stumbled up the stairs, leading to Johnny's room. Its been roughly two hours sense she ran into Oscar and started drinking with him. Kelsey felt great afterwards, but needed a little breather.
As she burst through the door, she stumbled into it, before gaining her balance and making her way over to to the bed. She plopped down on Johnny's bed, pulling out her phone. Kelsey quickly scanned the room, making sure no one else was in there. The bathroom door was closed and the light was on, however she didn't care.
Her thumb hovered over Dylan's contact, before she clicked it. Kelsey brought the phone up to her ear, waiting for him to answer.
Finally after a few rings, a voice sounded on the other end of the line. "Hey babe."
"HEY Dyl! Babe whats uppp?" She slurred, a stupid grin making its way onto her face.
"Not a lot babe, how are you?" Dylan questioned, he couldn't help but smile as he realized his girlfriend was drunk, but nonetheless, still adorable.
"I'm GREAT!" Kelsey exclaimed, flopping back onto the bed, her feet dangling over the edge.
Dylan chuckled at his girlfriends enthusiasm, "So where are you, what are you doing?"
Kelsey had to ponder the thought for a second. She knew she was safe, however she couldn't quite put her finger on who's apartment she was in. "I, uh- I'm at the little guys place!"
"Johnny's?" Dylan questioned, making sure.
Kelsey scanned the room quickly, "Johnny?! Where? Johnny Toews? He's hotttt!"

Dylan couldn't help but laugh, he knew his girlfriend had huge crushes on Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. "No, Gaudreau, Johnny Gaudreau." He corrected.
There was a slight pause on Kelsey's end. "Ah right, yeah isn't that what I said? Little guy?"
"Uh sure..." He chuckled.
"Anyways, back to my little story!" She paused, "I'm at Johnny's place- not Toews, Gaudreau. Anyways, I uh oh and my Inferno babes are here too! And so are my flaming hot brotha's! Haha get it? Oh and the Oilers are here too!" Kelsey furrowed her eyebrows. "At least I think so, I'm pretty sure I saw Davo and Nuggets, but uh I'm not too sure. But I'm safe! Don't worry, I got everything under control... for the most part." She slurred, wrapping up her little speech.
"Well thats go-"
Kelsey cut him off before he could finish the sentence. "Oh and Oscar! Shit, Can't forget about the guy that gave me my boooze!" Kelsey exclaimed, bolting upright, her eyes scanning the room to make sure Oscar wasn't there.
"Oh uh okay, well thats good babe, so what are you doing now, I can't hear much noise." Dylan asked, concerned that his girlfriend may have wondered away.
"Oh I'm fine, I'm in Johnny boys room, he has a comfy beddd," She stated, flopping back down. "And it's getting kind of boring, everyones either puking, playing beer pong, which they are shit at, jesus, you could do better! Or couples are making babies!"
Dylan chuckled, "Oh, well sounds fun."
"Uh sure I guess. But yeah, I thought I'd call youu because I miss you, and well, watching people make babies is making me want to kiss you..." She admitted, making Dylan chuckle.
"I miss you too baby, and I wanna kiss you too." Dylan told her, he couldn't help but smile as he talked to his girlfriend he hasn't seen in weeks. Although she was drunk, and probably won't remember anything tomorrow, he couldn't help but smile as he heard his girl talk.
Dylan couldn't help but think that when Kelsey was drunk, her real funny yet caring personality comes out. She can tend to hide that side of her, however when shes been drinking, he gets to hear the real side of her.
"Have you ever thought of having a baby?" Kelsey questioned him, catching him off guard.
The line was silent for a moment as Dylan picked his words carefully. " I guess, someday..."
"We should have a baby together!" Kelsey exclaimed as Dylan's eyes went wide. He kept trying to convince himself she didn't mean it, she was drunk. "But I mean I guess it would be kind of hard because we don't see each other a lot..." She trailed off, her voice getting lower as she said that.
"Yeah..." Is all Dylan could say. He'd been thinking about their relationship a lot recently. They hadn't seen each other in only a few weeks and they were both already having withdrawals. Both of their careers were going good lately, he knew they both couldn't give that up, so he was left wondering how much longer they could do the long distance.
"Dyl, it's getting really hard..." Kelsey admitted, her voice serious, sounding normal almost. If it wasn't for their previous conversation, Dylan would've thought she was sober.
"Yeah, I know baby girl," He paused, sighing. "Look baby, I got to go."
"But, I-I miss you." She pleaded.
"I know baby girl, I miss you too, but I got a game tomorrow and its late..." Dylan told her, that was truth, however he also didn't want to deal with this right now. He knew things were bound to give in the next few months, however he wasn't ready to face that fact right now, especially well Kelsey was drunk.
"Okay, yeah, I'll talk to you tomorrow. And good luck at your game, I'll be watching! Get me a goal Larks!" Kelsey said, sounding happier.
"I will baby, I will." He promised.
"Okay I love you so so much, Dyl. And I miss you so much, bye ." She said softly, it seemed like the alcohol was slowly starting to wear off.
"Bye baby girl, I miss you too. I love y-" Before he could finish his sentence, Kelsey had accidentally pushed end on the call. She instantly felt bad, wishing she heard the end of the sentence.
She couldn't hold it in anymore, she burst out into tears. It was a mix of the alcohol, and how much she missed Dylan. It truly hurt to love him now. Being away from him for so long has really taken its toll on Kelsey.
Kelsey leaned forward, propping her arms on her knees and placing her head in her hands. Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed. The alcohol was starting to wear off, however that didn't seem to help. Her sobs quieted down, however the tears continued to pour.
After a few minutes, she heard the bathroom door open, and someone walk out. She kept her head down, waiting for the person to leave so she could continue to cry in peace. However, she waited for a moment that didn't happen. Kelsey didn't hear anyone walk out of the room.
Deciding she needed to see, she brought her head up to face the person. She was about to yell and tell the person to fuck off and leave her to sob in peace, however her gaze softened as she stared at a stunned Matthew.
He was frozen, not knowing what to do. Once he noticed Kelsey was looking at him, he shook his head slightly before walking over and plopping down beside his friend.
Kelsey immediately buried her head into his shoulder, as he wrapped his arms around his best friend to comfort her.
Kelsey noticed that Matthew's hair was damp, and he smelt like cologne. She sighed in relief as she realized that Matthew was sober. She definitely didn't want to deal with a drunk Matthew.
"Wha- are, what- are you okay?" Matthew asked softly, whispering.
"Shhh, I just need your presence." Kelsey whispered back, as she turned, wrapping her arms around Matthew's neck, her head buried in the crook of his neck.
Matthew moved his arms so they were now wrapped tightly around her waist, pulling her closer to him. She stopped sobbing, however he knew she was still crying when he felt her tears soak his shirt. However, he didn't mind, he simply found joy in her presence, her body against his.
Getting a little uncomfortable on the edge of Johnny's bed, Matthew slowly stood up, grabbing Kelsey's legs. He went to wrap them around his waist, however she took the hint and did it herself.
Matthew walked around the side of the bed and pulled back the covers. Gently he placed Kelsey down, then jumping in after. He got settled, and opened his arms, for Kelsey to collapse in.
Kelsey had cuddled into his side, her one hand gently on his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around her, as he rubbed her arm. Her head was buried into his side, her eyes closed.
Matthew was tired, however he simply didn't want to sleep. He wanted to remember this moment for along time. It felt so right. The feeling; of his best friend in his arms, him comforting her. It didn't feel like a friendly gesture, it felt like a boyfriend was taking care of his girlfriend type thing. And although this may or may not affect a few things, Matthew couldn't be happier as Kelsey fell asleep in his arms.
Maybe this was the one thing that would get things rolling. Maybe tomorrow, Kelsey would wake up in Matthews arms, and realize she was completely and utterly in love with her best friend. Maybe this was the beginning of a beautiful love story. Maybe, just maybe this was the start of a crazy, beautiful relationship.
Or maybe she'd forget about it all.
