《✔️Prince's Museum》Passing the loyalty test

"See, she is also looking at me with the weird expression. Didn't I tell you every person here is looking at me with a weird expression!" I pointed at the maid and explained Arham as we returned to the Palace.
We had slept in the garden for sometime until Arham got a call from someone. After that we decided to return back to the palace.
For some reason everyone in the palace seemed to stare at me. Agreed that I am not as good looking as Arham but hey, he is not some Prince. He is just one of the employees of the Royal Family. And he is a human. So he can have a girlfriend right?
And then I involuntarily smiled at the word "girlfriend" . It's not official yet.
Who knows if Arham would introduce me to the Prince and rest of the family later. I mean he is close to all of them! Maybe the whole Royal family can attend our wedding! That would be so much fun!!!
Wait! What the hell am I thinking? Stupid. I am smiling like an idiot!
"Daydreaming aren't we?" Smirked Arham.
"Yeah sorry" I came back from my world.
"Does your daydream involve some kissing?" Asked Arham.
And I gave him a bad look and he laughed.
I went to my room and switched on the TV. I wondered when would the Prince allow me to resume my work.
************************************
"Yes Maam you can resume your work. I shall cooperate with you fully" Said Sursevakji.
It was at noon time and I was worried about going back to the office. At work. You see I had taken 10 days leave and it was already the 4th day. And the work wasn't even getting commenced.
After lunch, when I was getting up to leave, Sursevak Ji announced that now I am allowed to resume the work. And His Highness couldn't be present due to some "unexplainable circumstances" so I could go ahead.

Arham appeared later. Wearing a chef's hat and an apron. We both were alone in the study room as Sursevakji went to retrieve the treasure
"Did you hear that? We can now commence our work!!" I said excitedly.
"Oh.. what work? You mean kissing?" He winked.
"By the way. Your hunch was right. I told your theory to the Prince and he ordered the jewellery to be checked by the expert. You were right. The jewellary was fake but the ivory was real" he said.
Maybe that explained why the Prince wanted to resume the process.
"I suggest we send this ivory into carbon dating process to estimate the time of digging this box" I suggested to which he nodded. This would help us to trace the period of the ruler who first thought of the trick of hiding the treasure.
Likewise the expert was called and he and his team took away the ivory to his lab.
"Mind giving me the tour of the palace? Let's begin the process of finding the treasure" I suggested.
"Ya but from where should we start?" He asked.
"Which is the oldest and least visited part of the palace?"
"Well I have heard that the 3rd floor of the palace have rooms that are locked since years. Maybe we should start from there right?" He said excitedly.
"I am feeling as if you are finding the treasure of YOUR family" I giggled thinking about his level of excitement. To which he didn't reply. Just took my hand and smiled.
He led me to the third floor of the palace. The lobby itself was deserted. There were portraits of many past rulers and all rooms were locked with the huge keys.
I saw Arham holding a big bunch of huge sized keys. He said that he was authorised to open the room and explore. I commented that if it would have been the old times, he would have been a trusted minister or commander of the army of the kingdom. He again didn't say anything. Just smiled.

He handed me the key of a room. Then he started laughing.
"What happened?" I asked annoyed
"Your hands are smaller than the keys" he found it cute.
And the next moment he took me into his arms and kissed my nose.
"These paintings are worth of millions" I heard him whispering as we opened the door of the first room. It had nothing but the paintings covered in plastic cases.
"I know" I smiled "I shall ask Prince to preserve them properly. These are at the risk of being stolen"
"Maybe he might gift you one of these" chuckled Arham.
"Na I shall not accept these. These are masterpieces. They belong to museum for the public to see" I examined the paintings.
I called Sursevakji and asked him to lock the paintings safely along with the treasure (though it was fake and worthless).
"Oh look what I found!! It's an old ring" said excited Arham.
"You can keep it if you want. I won't tell anyone" he said.
I smiled. It was quiet expensive. I could easily see that it was studded with a diamond and three emeralds. But again, it wasn't mine. I loved emralds but they didn't belong to me. They belonged to the Prince and his family who trusted me enough to stay near their family treasures.
"Let's give it to Sursevakji. He would preserve it so that it won't get lost again" I suggested. And we did the same.
Suddenly while returning to the other room, I saw Arham looking at me with admiration.
"What happened?" I asked puzzled.
"Nothing. It's just that you are a beautiful soul" he smiled. I didn't get what he meant but I let that pass. That guy could drool over me for hours. I had a business to do.
Finally I was proved right. My gut feeling was right. She wasn't the thief. Over the hours I subjected her to the paintings worth of millions of dollars and she didn't even flinched an eye. She could have stolen them later without my presence but she chose to get them locked away so that no one could touch them.

I am hoping to turn ths into a series that I can publish to Amazon, but my life is a bit hectic right now, so I can't make any guarantees. However, I have serious reasons for writing at this point in my life, so I will do my best to provide this new twist to the LitRPG genre and keep it up for as long as possible. Thank you, to anyone who reads this. *Also, tags might change depending on how the story goes, there may be mild profanity or mild sexual content, but I have not decided yet.
