《The Invitation》Chapter 14

--- Eliza ---
"What?"
"Ughhh" said Leah in annoyance, "I SAID THAT I FOUND THE BLOODY CURE YOU DIMWITS!"
"Oh."
There was silence, broken when Elias said, "Well what is it then?"
Leah quickly looked towards the new girl before asking everyone to sit down. Eliza couldn't figure out the connection between the new girl and Leah and Nico, but she knew it couldn't be good.
Anyway, it was none of her business.
Ha! She laughed at herself, as if that ever stopped her from poking her nose in.
But that was something for another time.
For now, Leah had something to say.
"So, we've all been thinking about what food we ate, and who was there and who had been poisoned, but what we missed is who wasn't there during breakfast. "
"Loretta!", said Nico, brightening up.
"Yes precisely. I had a feeling she was key to finding out the cure, but I couldn't piece it togethed until Eliza said that she remembers seeing Loretta drinking from the fountain."
"That was the only thing that she had consumed that we hadn't and its clear that there's something in the water that caused her hallucination and it could be a drug"
Suddenly all the pieces fit together in Elizas brain. "But what if the drug wasn't something bad, but actually something useful......"
"That certainly explains why the Armeshires kicked Loretta out, she would be immune to the whatever they put in our food, but if it was an anitidote, why would Loretta begin hallucinating......" asked Nico.
" And that would be if the drug in the water was very concentrated, and would only be properly effective if there was something for it to cure.", finished Leah.
"Well everyone, I believe we've figured it out!"

Suddenly Elias stood up, removing his waistcoat, and said, "Well then, whatever are we waiting for?"
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Eliza shrieked, as he began to remove more clothing.
But Elias only grinned and walked out the front door, everyone not far behind him. Taking a deep breath, he ran and jumped into the fountain - creating a huge splash.
When Elias resurfaced, Nico also grinned and jumped into the fountain fully clothed, with Leah not far behind him.
Sighing internally, Eliza took a deep breath and jumped, shrieking as her body came in contact with the freezing water.
The fountain, thankfully, was not very shallow.
And although it did occur to her that the water would be too dirty to drink now, that thought was clouded by the heady feeling of success that went over her, drowning out everything else.
Almost at peace, she didn't care about anything else, until someone stepped forward and said, "Did you forget about me?"

Haven in a Dangerous World (Old)
Devin McMullen. Female. 18. Single dad. Dead mom. Good in fights and little else. No friends. Or, at least, that's what she's always been. Now, she's not sure exactly what she is. She's never been one for reading fiction, or anything for that matter, but this feels like something straight out of a fantasy. Her newly acquired instincts, however, scream dungeon core. Whatever that is. Unlike most dungeon cores, though, she's missing something very important. A dungeon. Stuck out in the open, above ground where she's definitely not supposed to be, with not a cave in sight, or any other land form besides miles and miles of ice and snow, Devin's not sure if she can survive. Update: Big caveate, though, just so you know. Started with this one idea and ran with it as far as I could. Characters and plot suffer from it, but I'm proud that I wrote as much as I did. I will rewrite this at some point and make it so it actually has plot. Check out my wordpress © [koallary] and [Haven in a Dangerous World], [2017]. The devil's got my number
Dalton was always a nice place. Always had been. When that new couple moved here, we were all ecstatic. They were wealthy, but not arrogant, always willing to help out their neighbors. All around the perfect kind of migrant. They brought a child with them. Jacob. He was beautiful, just like his parents. He had his mother's beautiful hair, and his father's beautiful eyes. But he was different. He wasn't social, or nice, like his parents. He mainly kept to himself. Until one day he didn't. Strange tales, of the boy running around the neighborhood at night started to pop up. Of sacrificing children and dark rituals. The average person dismissed it as just that, rumors. But those of us that had seen the boy, knew the truth. His eyes were no longer the deep, vibrant color of his father. They were the green of rot, his skin the color of a corpse. The devil had taken the boy, and, like a disease, he was spreading his curse.

Broken (Peeta Mellark Fanfiction)
Peeta Mellark has survived the Hunger Games, he escaped the Quarter Quell, then he was rescued from the torturous hands of the Capitol. His memory has been tampered with, so everything he sees could be either real or fake. Instead of a smooth recovery, he is thrown right into war. What would become of him in the end? Broken. (Taking place a little over halfway through the Mockingjay book and after the movie Mockingjay Part 1) This is a somewhat sequel to the other story I wrote called Hijacked, but I think you could read this without reading the other one.
