《The Invitation》Chapter 9

After the scream there was silence. Pure and undisturbed silence, only broken when butlers came in holding candle's on candlesticks and closed the windows - blocking the sound of the wind howling and screaming in the dark.
No one had spoken and it wasn't until the room was fully lit again, that Loretta spoke up sheepishly and all eyes went to her.
"I'm so sorry everyone. I didn't mean to scream, I truly didn't. But I though I had seen someone right outside the windows and I just couldn't help it! all a scare"
Everyone stared at her disbelievingly.
"I always knew she was crazy lunatic.", murmured Elias, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Eliza scoffed and said, "Why you disrespectful imbecile! I have had enough of your apathy and emasculation! The poor lady was scared out of her wits! The least you could do was have some sympathy for the poor old woman."
Elias's face turned red and before he could say anything, Loretta screamed once again, pointing one trembling finger right at the empty wall across from her, and said, "THERE HE IS AGAIN! THAT MAN! CAN YOU NOT SEE HIM! AAAHHHHHHHHH!"
Her eyes rolled back into her head and she was out cold. But just before she could hit the floor, Lea leaned forward and caught her and screamed, "Help her! Somebody, help her!"
And at that very moment, just like they were just waiting to be called, the butlers stepped forward from their positions against the walls and carried Loretta away, leaving everyone staring after her. Yet, throughout it all - Percy and Frances had remained very still, their expressions two duplicate masks of indifference and passiveness. Then in a murmur, Percy said, "Well, I guess she drank the water............" And with a stiff nod to her husband, Frances addressed her remaining guests and said, "Do settle down everyone, that was only a minor disturbance. Please don't let it hinder your mood and enjoy your meal."

There could only be one answer. Your son. Elecar Winteridge, 7 B.S. (Before the Scourge) ________________________________ Ragnarök, judgement day or the day of reckoning. Every religion and cult has foretellings of the final day. For most people it is just an old tale, something to frighten misbehaving children or a tool for scaring the masses. But for Shea and her world this became a despairing reality. Forests turned into deserts and seas became salt lakes. Continents were smashed together, becoming one or disappearing without a trace. The whole world was covered in the ashes of fires. When Shea awoke in her shelter, not only was she injured but everyone and everything she knew was gone. Trials of a Magic Core
He was brave, and noble, and true. He was also a hunk of crystal floating in a magical circle, brought into existence by the self-styled "Greatest Magus of All Time" to be his personal intelligent magical encyclopedia, filled with every minutiae of the arcane this Magus could stuff into it, all ready and accessible at a moment's notice. But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.
