Holy Moly has it been a while!!

Hello to the most lovely readers EVER. Zoe and I (the great and powerful Niki) were casually watching "After 2" last night (because, hello, Wattpad...) and we started reminiscing on Handcuffed and thought

As young high schoolers with literally no romantic or sexual experience (definitely hadn't even had my first kiss yet), there is certainly room for improvement in this book. We didn't plan a whole lot before writing, and there were some miscommunications in our writing (re: Nick as the brother/cousin, when Cas and Jake first had sex, etc. etc.).

Also, what the heck happened to the whole Julia/Kyle ship? And why didn't we all get to watch Nick and Melissa actually get together? And, like, why did Melissa have to be anything but a favorable character bc I love that btch but she definitely messed up, as did Jake (and like I'm still kinda butt-hurt over that). Then there's the Flynn/Fynn guy. (WHY) WAS HE EVEN NECESSARY?

This book definitely ended up veering away from our initial ideas of it in some pretty substantial ways, and I'm sure some of you were a bit disappointed by that.

, our kick-ass (sorry, I did write for Jake, didn't I??) reader who probably has some pretty solid thoughts on how to improve this book.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Excuse me, Jake, you cannot break out of these handcuffs. That literally defeats the entire purpose.

We literally do not Flynn/Fynn as a character, and thus all that trauma that ensued

I was low-key looking forward to their presentations on what they learned about each other.

Chapters of a length that actually feels like you're reading a hecking book

More developed characters (I think Cas can cuss this time around)

Julia/Kyle ship? Yay/nay?

I need a lot more Melissa and Nick (but no Melissa/Kyle drama)

What turns into a really healthy relationship for Jake and Cas that we can all root for throughout the entire book; nothing unforgivable spoken. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want to see the same playfulness and sexual tension/rivalry, but everyone seemed to cross the line in the OG Handcuffed.

Showing more of how they are family friends?

What am I missing?

Also, this is a side note but if you are feeling so inclined that you wanted to write a fanfic type of thing/chapter/bonus thingy, how fcking sick would that even be. Like bruh we could publish those (GIVING YOU FULL CREDIT) as their own book so fans have a central place to read them if there was interest. Cause I definitely would be interested.

Now here's the catch: I have a son now (HOLY MOLY OKAY NIKI CLEARLY YOU'VE HAD YOUR FIRST KISS BY NOW), and an internship, and school. However, school doesn't start for a few more weeks (although my babes and the job will continue). I wish we could promise that this is something we have all the time to dedicate to, but that wouldn't be a fair promise to you.

We are going to start writing now, and we want to write as much as we are able to. We don't want to post a few chapters though and have things fall through (@fake it for me👀), so we won't be posting anything until we know we will be able to deliver fully.

That said, we are feeling hella inspired.

Thank you so much for reading this and we love you all so much. Zoe and I started writing Roommates for a Week when were 15 and started on this one shortly after. Now we're 21/22 and wow have things changed. Originally we starting writing because I switched to private school and this was a way we could stay in touch. I am beyond grateful for how this helped preserve our friendship and I love you so much, Zoe!!
