"So Ming can you tell me what happened again on the night of April the 2nd?"
"What more is there to tell he broke into my house and tried to rape me. He was stalking me, I got a restraining order but he still didn't stop." Ming said getting frustrated with the detective. Yasir rubbed her back trying to calm her down.
"Nobody else was in the house with you?"
"No my boyfriend went to go to the store." Ming said.
"Okay so why would Mr. Powers have been stalking you?"
Ming rolled her eyes. "Ugh we used to fuck! Happy we used to fuck. I broke it off with him and boom he got crazy and he started stalking me then he tried to rape me and kill me. This was all self fucking defense!"
"Ms. Simmons we need you to lower your voice and calm down."
"You all keep asking me the same questions over and over and over again. I give you the same damn response and you ask it again." She said.
"Okay Ms. Simmons you can go, but we will be calling you back."
Ming and Yasir stood up to leave out of the small room. Ming took a deep breath as she walked out feeling free.
"You good?" Yasir asked her as they walked out of the building.
"No I'm not. Everytime I close my eyes I see his face and I have to get new carpet because his blood won't come up out of it." Ming said. "School is driving me crazy. Alijah just up and left and now I have nobody but Laila and Di'anna. But Laila is busy with the baby and Di'anna is too busy with her boyfriend."
"You got me baby." Yasir said.
"Bae I know it's just hard to talk to you." Ming said. "I don't know why it just is."
Ming opened the door of her car getting in and Yasir got in the passenger's side.
"I told you to let me take the fall for it." Yasir said.
"No! If you would've said you did it then it wouldn't have looked like self defense. They are actually believing me well except for that other bitch ass detective, but just trust me. This will all end withen a month or two and we'll be straight." Ming said starting the car.
Yasir took a deep breath leaning back in his seat. "Ok." He said.
Ming backed out of the parking lot and drove off.
"I can't believe I actually shot him in his face well head I mean it all happened so fast." Yasir said.
"I'm just glad he's dead. At first I was obsessed over him then it went away and he was obsessed over me. I guess Karma is a bitch." Ming said.
Everything got quiet after Ming said what she said. Ming was just ready to graduate and move on with her life. Keith was just a bad thing that needed to be removed fully. Thing is Keith wasn't really dead.
"Hey baby boy." Laila said picking up Genisis. He was every spit of Lucas. The only thing he had from Laila was her lips.
Genisis got comfortable in her arms. She looked down at him smiling. "So precious." She said walking out of his room which was Lucas' old room. Laila decided to stay in the house and his mama wanted to move out into the new apartment.
Laila actually made the house look better after she moved out. She got rid of the old funiture and replaced it with new funiture and also got new carpet put in there.

"Let's get you a bottle ready before you grandma comes and get you." Laila said.
She had to go to some thing at school so she could catch up with her work that she missed. She laid Genesis in his swing and went into the kitchen to make him a bottle.
Alijah was gone so Laila really had nobody except her baby. Ming was dealing with that Keith mess and Di'anna was with her man.
She wished Lucas was still here with her. She missed him so much especially when Genesis came out looking just like him.
She felt like she was missing something even with Genesis still there.
Genesis started crying and she quickly finished fixing his bottle and went into the living room where he was.
I said I wasn't gonna do this....but I lied.
Laila dropped the bottle when she seen who was holding him. She quickly dropped to her knees crying. Taking a deep breath trying to calm her heartbeat down she slowly got up.
"This has to be a dream..." She said.
"Nope baby girl it isn't." Lucas said standing up holding Genesis.
"But you're dead. In the ground dead. I seen you in your casket lifeless." Laila cried.
"I...Laila I'm sorry." Lucas said.
She didn't believe in ghosts but she did believe in spirits. She closed her eyes and opened them again and Lucas was still there holding Genesis.
"You're dead." Laila said and she kept repeating it.
"No I'm not I had to go away for awhile." Lucas said.
"Your mother tried to kill herself. I went into depression while I was pregnant with our son and..."
Lucas grabbed Laila's hand making her jump.
"It's okay. I'm human. I'm not dead babygirl."
Laila stood there in awe. She knew she wasn't going crazy then and she needed a full explanation why Lucas did what he did.
"I got it I'm good leave me the fuck alone." Delilah yelled trying to change her bandage on her head.
She had just gotten out of the hospital again because she had a seizure and bumped her head on the corner of her dresser causing her to pass out and cause a deep wound on the side of her head.
When they say karma is a bitch she really is....
"Has August called me yet?" Delilah asked her mother.
"No Delilah he hasn't. Why are you so worried about him?"
"Because mommy he's my boyfriend."
"Boy was just desperate he don't want you." Her mother mumbled causing Delilah to start having a tantrum.
"Fuck you bitch. He does want me. Alijah hurt him she broke his heart and she left so he came back to me. You know what get the fuck out my face." Delilah said.
"Who the fuck you think you talking to? I will fuck you up so bad I'll tell the people at the hospital you had another seizure and slipped in the shower. Keep playing with me Delilah. Ion know what the fuck happened to you while you was in that damn coma but you better get it together." Her mother said before walking out of the bathroom.
Delilah finished wrapping the bandage around her head and looked in the mirror. She was still the same girl. She didn't feel different either.
She picked up her phone and called August which resulted in her being sent straight to voicemail.
"No no no please pick up the phone." Delilah said calling August again.

You've reached the voicemail....
"Fuck!" She screamed going into her room and grabbing her keys.
"Delilah where you going? You not suppose to be driving."
"I'm just going around a block mama I'll be back." She said leaving out of the house and going to get in her car.
Delilah was going around a block alright. She was going to see where August was and what he was doing. August really wasn't Delilah's boyfriend, he was just being a friend because he thought she needed one. He made one mistake by kissing her but that was because he was still trying to get over Alijah. Delilah took that to another level.
Delilah pulled up at the trap where August had been hanging out lately. She got out approaching Darion and Vonte who was sitting on the porch.
"What the fuck is she doing here?" Vonte asked Darion.
Darion shook his head. "August this crazy ass girl here again!" He yelled.
Delilah stood there waiting for August to come out.
"August why you not answering my calls?!" Delilah yelled.
Darion got up rushing inside to see where August was. He was laid out on the couch high as a kite.
"Yo Yung?"
"Wassup?" August said.
"Delilah out here."
August's face frowned up as he sat up.
"For what?"
"Ion know." Darion said walking back out.
"Where's August?" Delilah said.
"Look man August-
August came out the door. "Delilah what ya' doin' hea'?"
"Why you not answering my calls August? You said you'll always answer my calls." Delilah said on the verge of crying.
"This girl is crazy." Darion mumbled..
August looked at her like she was crazy which she was.
"Delilah you not my girlfriend. Yeah I said I would answer your calls, but you don't have to call or text me every hour and every day."
"August you kissed me." Delilah said.
"And? That was a mistake."
Delilah bit her tongue and nodded her head before walking away going to her car.
"Man she crazy as hell." August said.
Delilah got in her car. "He wanna play me I'll show him." She said before starting her car up and driving off.
"You kissed her?" Darion asked August. "Are you planning your own death?"
"Man shutup." August said going back in the house.
Alijah looked in the mirror at the small bump that was forming. She took a deep breath and rubbed her hand over it.
"Alijah?"
She heard her grandmother call her.
"Yes ma'am?" She said walking out of the bathroom.
Her grandmother had a two bedroom/one bath apartment and it was kinda small. Alijah wasn't use to this especially sharing a bathroom.
"Are you ready to go to school?"
Alijah nodded her head. "Yes um are you gonna let me drive?"
"Yeah you can get the car today I don't have to work." Her grandma said.
"Okay I'll be home right after school."
This will be Alijah's 3rd day at her new school and nobody spoke to her at all. They really wasn't even worried about her.
Alijah left the house and went straight to school. It was a walking distance but it was too hot in Miami at the moment.
She walked in the school and went straight to the dining room for breakfast, sitting down at a table all by herself she ate her breakfast pizza.
"Hey are you new?" Some girl came up asking Alijah.
Alijah looked up. "Um yeah."
The girl sat down without even asking Alijah. "Hi I'm Malakhi. I'm part of the welcoming committee even though we don't have one I made it up."
Alijah nodded her head slowly. "Oh okay well that's good I've been here for three days and nobody hasn't noticed me yet until now."
"So what's your name?"
"Alijah with an A." Alijah said.
"Oh okay um what made you want to move here at the end of the school year almost?"
"Family Issues." Alijah said causing Malakhi just to nod her head.
"Well again, I'm Malakhi and I'm a senior so I'll be graduating with you." She said.
"Okay." Alijah said.
"If you need anything I'll be here." Malakhi said.
"Okay thank you." Alijah said watching Malakhi not get up.
"Oh you want me to go?"
"Oh it's no problem I just wanted to finish my food in peace." Alijah said.
"I'm sorry I'll go see you at lunch." Malakhi said getting up and leaving.
Alijah went to take a bite of her pizza before getting a weird feeling in her stomach. She quickly got up running to the nearest trash can letting out nothing but last night's chinese food.
"Oh my god are you okay?" Somebody asked her.
Alijah grabbed a napkin from the counter and wiped her mouth taking a deep breath.
"I'm fine." She said before rushing out of the dining room.
Alijah sat at the kitchen table doing some homework she had to do. She finally could sit down and do something without having to vomit every three seconds. She didn't even want to eat even though she was starving and craving a peanut butter and jelly with cold ice milk on the side, but she refused to eat.
"Alijah?" Her grandma called her.
"Yes ma'am?" Alijah said getting up and going in the living room.
"Your parents sent you this."
Alijah grabbed the letter that had UCLA on it and opened it. She slowly and carefully read the letter.
On the verge of tears Alijah said... "I got accepted!"
Her grandmother stood up hugging her. "Oh baby that's wonderful."
Alijah was so happy she got accepted to her dream college, but that meant that she'll have to go back to California. Her mind went back to thinking about August and everything they went through to now she was pregnant either with his baby or Bryson's baby which she was praying was August's baby. If it is he'll find out one day just not now.
Zoned out Alijah didn't even here her grandmother talking.
"Alijah... Alijah.. Alijah!"
"Yes?" Alijah said snapping out of her trance.
"I'm pretty sure your parents already know, but I'm gonna tell them anyway. You can go finish your homework babygirl."
Alijah nodded her head taking her phone out of her back pocket and unlocking it. She went to contacts and found Laila's number she needed to talk to her and I'm pretty sure Laila needed to talk to her.
"Aye Yung?" Lord said.
"Wassup?" August said.
"Um come'ere I got a question for you."
August got up from rolling his blunt and went to Lord's office.
"Yeah?" August said leaning on the door looking at Lord.
"You still go wit' dat' girl?"

The Girl with Scales and a Sword
This is the story of a girl who ends up with scales and a sword. Yup. There you have it folks. Slice of Life is the key intended genre. This is literally going to be a running commentary of a girls life, especially as it relates to adventure and action This is going to be a continuous work, as I intend it to be a side project while I work on other books more decidedly, and I intend to rework chapters often, because I want this both to be a break from other titles, and a learning experience. I'm going to be trying to get a lot of people to comment on chapters so I can grow as a writer. So if you want to read, please do! and comment if you feel generous. Just keep in mind, releases will likely be veeeeery far apart. (Note: I try to put out a chapter a month, though that doesn't always happen depending on school, work, and generally how well I'm doing, energy-wise)
