The bell had finally rung meaning it was now lunch period. You met up with Hu tao and Yanfei while the others were already at the spot you guys always met up at for lunch.

"no," you heard xiao's voice as you three approached the others who was sitting down with no food. they were all staring at xiao who was munching on his food not caring.

"you guys good?" you questioned curious on what was going on. "we have no food and we asked xiao to get it for us but he refuses," venti explained.

you stood back up making your way towards xiao when suddenly a group of guys came walking down the hall bumping into you rougly making you lose your balance and fall.

the plan was for the guy who bumped into you to catch you and play it off cool then ask for your number. that wasn't what happened instead xiao leaned in catching you in his arms.

"what the fuck man?" you quickly thanked xiao before getting back on your feet and turning to the guys.

"hey hey don't bring me into this alright? it was only him," one of the guys behind him put his arms up backing away ditching his friend.

you stood there waiting for the guy who bumped into you to say something as he had the expression of holding something back on his face.

"uh- hey- can I get your number?" he finally asked walking closer and pulling his phone out handing it to you. you hummed staring at his phone for a while thinking about your decisions.

and that's when you came up with something. you put in the one and only xiao's number to scare him off. at least you wouldn't have to deal with him, sorry xiao.

"thanks text you later," the guy happily exclaimed before walking away with his friends beginning to brag about how he got his number.

you just hummed and turned to xiao who had the same expression as always. "sorry for that thanks for catching me," you smiled catching up with him.

you opened your drink and took a sip while you felt a pair of eyes on you which you began to feel a little weirded out by.

"what is it?" you finally gave xiao the attention he was basically asking for. "did you give him your number?" xiao questioned.

don't get him wrong at all, he wouldn't just do this for you. it's not special treatment at all. he might be harsh but he still wishes the best for everyone.

and from one good look xiao could already tell the guy wasn't a good person at all. he simply just didn't want you getting hurt, nothing more.

"here I didn't know what your favorite drink was so I just grabbed one that reminded me of you," you handed him the drink.

"I remind you of monster?" he hesitantly took the can. was he suppose to be offended but when he heard you laugh he didn't mind anyway.

"would you like to know who's number I gave?" you grinned and he already had a bad feeling about this.

he was drinking the drink you gave him just for him to almost choke on it as soon as you said that.

in return you offered to get him some free almond tofu at xiangling's restaurant which he happily accepted.

when the two of you came back with no bread and only bread for xiao and you. they all glared at you two.

safe to guess that they definitely now have a grudge against you guys. the guys began to bother xiao who turned away and just continued to munch on his bread.

you covered your mouth as you laughed watching them. lumine, hutao, and yanfei could tell from the side that a new couple was bound to bloom this spring.
