《Perseus Jackson: A New Purpose》My new job

The children of Night and the goddess herself helped train me and make me the best version of myself.
I had just been given a quest by my new mom, Nyx. It was to venture out to Tartarus and recruit more beings into the army of Night. I was still in the dark when it came to battle plans or what the army was for but I didn't really care. In the army, I was respected and treated as an equal. It was something one would call home.
As I trudged down the harsh landscape of Tartarus, I came across a battle. It was between a huge being with dark red skin, a black crown and a powerful red aura and a smaller figure covered in Golden armour whom I recognised as Chrysaor.
The big red man who I guessed was a Titan, stabbed his sword into the ground and sent out waves of power that blew apart the golden boy.
I stared in shock at the amount of power this Titan possessed. So naturally, I walked up to him, "Who are you?" I asked.
He simply grunted and replied, "Perses, Titan of destruction and who may you be puny demigod?"
I released a bit of darkness and let my power flow through me. "I am Perseus, champion of Nyx," I replied.
Perses smirked, "I'm guessing you're the same Perseus Jackson who wiped Iapetus' memory and helped vanquish Kronos and Gaia?"
"That would be me. Yeah,"I replied.
He threw his head back and laughed, "And what is the hero of Olympus doing down here?"
I continued releasing more darkness. "I was betrayed and cast out by the Olympians because they believed I was a threat. Now, I'm the champion of Nyx, with a new purpose.''

"Alright little hero, what's your new purpose?" He asked, genuinely intrigued.
"I'm recruiting warriors for the army of Night, would you like to join?"
The Titan thought for a while before replying, "I don't want to be a part of the army but I agree to aid you in any battles or in times of need."
"Very well Perses," I said, "I'll see you around and if you ever require any assistance, let me know."
He nodded, before walking away towards what I presume is a way out.
The ground suddenly started to shake with what I assume is laughter. An all too familiar warrior's body was formed in front of me. I could never forget that head.
"Tartarus," I said with a curt bow.
He nodded towards me, at least I assume its a nod. "I'm not here to kill you," he said, taking a form with a human head. "I'm here to let you know that some of the heroes of Olympus have entered my realm and are here to hunt you."
Yipeee, I thought, those rats never leave me alone. "Why are you telling me this Tartarus?"
"They are hunting for you so I guess you should know," he said. I was a bit puzzled, "why don't you kill them?" I asked.
He grunted, "I will if they try and leave but it is amusing to see them searching all over the place when you're here doing your job," he said in an amused tone. "I will allow you to have the power to enter and exit my realm and use your powers," Tartarus continued.
"Why?" I asked him.
"Because your life intrigues me and it is mildly entertaining," he said before disappearing from sight.

I then dissolved into black mist and landed at the entrance of mom's mansion. I spotted Hypnos taking a plate of cookies from the kitchen and walking towards his room. "Hey Hypnos, mind telling Mom for me that I made friends with Perses the Titan and he's agreed to assist us?" I asked.
"Sure thing," he murmured and snapped his fingers, closing the door and hopefully informing mom.
I then walked around the mansion, not knowing what to do. I still had to learn more about the mansion and it seemed to keep having new places to look at. I was immune to looking at the horrors of the mansion. It wasn't much, only Eris' room was a big no no. Geras' room smelled of old people, which was fine with me, Hecate's room was the tidiest and Erebus' was cool and nice. He was also sort of a father figure for me.
As I wandered around I came across someone I've heard of, but never met before. It was Hemera, the primordial goddess of day. She had bright eyes that seemed to shift from blue to Golden, she had shoulder length blonde hair and looked the complete opposite of mom with her bright and happy feature.
"Hey sis!" I greeted her.
She smiled warmly at me. "Hello Perseus, mom told me about you, hope no one's been mean to you. These guys tend to be as unstable as Eris when she's out for blood."
I chuckled, "nah, they're alright, this is probably the only place left in the universe where I feel at home."
"Well, I must be going now, Aether's calling, urgh...he's so impatient," she said before leaving with a blinding flash that left spots in my eyes.
She seemed cool, I wonder how many other siblings I have that I need to meet. I thought about visiting Akhlys as the two of us had made up and we're good siblings now, but decided against it because she's mostly trying to bring misery to some innocent mortals.
As I turned a corner, I bumped into the last person I expected to see here. We stared at each other for a good 10 seconds.
"Zoë!!" I exclaimed, "what the Tartarus are you doing here?"
"And may I ask the same for you," she asked me suspiciously.
"Nyx made me her champion and sorta adopted me after the Olympians threw me out," I confessed.
She had a look of surprise on her face until I recounted everything that even happened to me after she died.
To say she was shocked, would have been an understatement.
"So what happened to you?" I asked her, "I thought Artemis placed you in the stars."
Zoë wrinkled her nose in disgust. "No," she replied. "After the gaean war, the gods became more paranoid than ever and started to round up all potential enemies and make them swear their loyalty to Olympus. They didn't believe me when I told them I was a hunter. Zeus ripped me from the stars and cast me down here. I would have died if not for Nyx," she said.
I.was.fuming. How dare they! Zoë died fighting her father to save Artemis. She did not deserve to be cast into Tartarus. But nevertheless, she looked happy an free here.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
