《Lombardi - Finn Shelby》The Noose

Prison. I hated it. I felt extremely isolated in this cell.
It was just grey, dull and it had a rotting smell to it. I bet someone died in here. Wouldn't surprise me.
Two female police officers came in and glared at them, if only my eyes could kill them, they both made a funny face at me before making me leave the room with them.
I had no idea where I was going they took me through many hallways before leading me into a darker room. They took me up the stairs and that's when I saw it.
The noose. The dreaded life ender.
I gulped and tried to resist but the guards kept a hold of me.
They tightened the noose around my neck and I looked up at the ceiling terrified. I shakily recited the Lord's Prayer and I closed my eyes waiting to be dropped.
Soon someone came in telling them to stop. I opened my eyes in relief to see a man running up with paper in his hand.
They took the noose off and I closed my eyes in relief.
What a life changer.
—
I was with Finn at home. I was still off. I couldn't forget about it. The suffocating nightmares.
I was glad Finn stayed though. He tried to get me through it. It helped a lot as well.
"I'm worried about Polly." I said for the 1000th time today. I knew Polly had it worse. She says she saw ghosts, crazy isn't it? I think the gypsy side of her is coming out.
"Rose you've said that all day." Finn said getting closer to me.
"I know but I'm just concerned that's all, anyway come here. It's Christmas we should be celebrating or some shit." I said pulling him into a large hug.

"Where's my present then?" Finn asked and I laughed.
"What present?" I asked jokingly. I sat on his lap crushing him and kissed his cheek making him blush. Oh God so cute. I love how he still blushed every time I kiss him.
I heard the post box clink against the metal so I went to go collect it. I took the others and put it on the desk.
There was one letter for me though so I took it back with me to the living room.
"I got a letter." I told him not sitting down.
I opened it up and pulled the card out. Thinking it was a Christmas card or whatever.
"Whose it from?" He asked.
Merry Christmas Roseline.
You're father hopes to see you,
I heard you're friends with the Shelby family.
You should come home Rose.
From Luca Changretta & family.
On the other side of the card was a black hand. Wait a black hand?
I stopped the card in shock and Finn looked at me in confusion.
"What?"
"I was sent the black hand." I said finally realising what it was. It was that maffia, isn't it.
"You need to tell Tommy." Finn told me taking the card analysing it.
"Rose this says your dad wants to see you, whose your dad?" Finn asked furrowing his eyebrows.
"Gabriele Lombardi." I answered nervously.
"Wait aren't they related to the Changrettas?" Finn asked me again.
"Yeah, my grandma is a Changretta. But it doesn't mean anything right, I haven't seen any of them in years." I said hopeful.
"But Rose you never told me you were a fucking Lombardi." Finn said raising his voice.
"Don't raise your fucking voice at me!" I shouted back. I felt enough stress keeping it a secret I didn't need him shouting at me for it.

"I never told anyone about being a Lombardi because Easton used to tell me not to. When he died I was going to tell Polly but postponed it because I was scared." I admitted sitting down.
"I ended telling Polly when John blinded Angel and I didn't know how but Tommy figured it out." I said putting my hands through my hair.
"I didn't want to see my father or my mother, because I would have to be sent back to them. Because I would have to leave you and everyone else."
"Wait. But you told me your mum died?" Finn asked in confusion.
"Well she's not, when I went to that nuthouse with the Russians, Tommy told me I had a surprise and it was my mother."
"What happened?"
—
Whilst everyone was downstairs I was in a bedroom waiting for this special surprise.
The door knocked a few times, they were soft as well, and I strolled over to open it.
I opened the door but quickly closed it again, slamming it in front of the person, outside the door was someone who I had thought was dead. Dead and passed.
I reopened the door and let them in. I stood frozen at the person in front of me.
"Hi, I didn't really expect to see you like this." They told me. I didn't answer back I was speechless.
How?
"What are you doing here?" I asked putting a brave face on, I ain't gonna cry, not now.
"I wanted to see you." she told me smiling, I let my lip wobble but covered it up with anger.
"So you survived then and let me get taken away, you wanted me to mourn your death even though you wasn't dead?" I responded angrily.
"I wanted to tell you but..." she began to say but I interrupted her.
"But you didn't, you hid away from me, that's selfish!" I shouted making her feel guilty.
"I'm sorry but, I'm back now and I wanted you to come home with me and your father." she told me but I shook my head at her.
"Fuck off, why would I, you know nothing about me and who I became, Polly has been a greater fucking mum than you have, they are my family, not you!" I screamed.
She nodded her head in defeat and quietly left.
I don't need her. I won't ever need her.
—
"Rose, shit, I'm sorry." Finn said guiltily.
"It's okay, are you still mad?" I asked wiping my teary eyes.
"Come here." Finn said bringing my into a hug.
"Do you want to just go to bed now?" finn asked kissing my forehead.
"Let's go." I nodded kissing his cheek making him blush immediately.
As we got to our room he picked me up.
"Maybe I should just give you my Christmas present." Finn suggested setting me down on the bed carefully.
"Yeah you should, it better be good." I told him kissing him as he leaned over me.
"Merry Christmas." he said to me breaking the kiss for a second.
"Merry Christmas."

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

The Immortal
There was once a certain man who never died. When ancient trees withered, he flourished. When kingdoms, empires, and nations fell, he stood. When surrounded by immortals, he laughed. And when the world was gone, he remained. This is his tale. I take 0% credit for the title picture. I just pasted stuff together and did the best I could with a mac touchpad.
