《Lombardi - Finn Shelby》One Of The Family

I was stood in the mucky graveyard, it was very dull day, the clouds were greater than ever, probably because of the bad air but also because of the situation. It was rather windy and it seemed like it was going to rain.
Polly brought me along to Freddie Thornes funeral. I stood with all the Shelby's and I had Karl in my arms, he wasn't very fussy but I didn't want Ada to have to carry him around whilst she was grieving.
The priest was talking and I merely joined in feeling awkward that I was at the funeral of a man I didn't even know. I joined in with all the amens and I couldn't help but feel extremely bad for poor Ada I know she loved him by the way she talked about him.
I listened to Thomas's speech and I pulled Karl closer to me, he wriggled about and I feared I would drop the poor baby.
I let Karl play away with his cousins and I stayed around Finn when the funeral had ended. We hung around talking and I watched everyone else's movements when he went to talk with some guy. I watched Ada and Thomas leave talking and Polly quickly walking after them.
Finn was leant against the black car behind us and we both snapped our heads to the guy who was on the motorcycle, it was annoying. The man said something to Arthur and he immediately left to talk to Thomas, must have been urgent.
"I wonder what that's about?" Finn said in a sad tone as I know he felt left out.
"Don't worry too much about it." I said patting his arm.
—
I left with Polly after the funeral, but she didn't tell me anything about where we were going. Her and Thomas left the car and I followed along.
I looked at the Garrison in shock, it had been blown up, there was debris everywhere. I quietly stood behind the rope and watched Polly walk into the ruins, what the bloody hell is she doing?
I covered my head as it started to pour with rain, I really don't want to be here. Who did this and why?

When you know the Shelby's you start to know that it wasn't something it was someone, it's always someone.
Me and Finn were just hanging around the noisy betting shop talking and joking about when John called him to take the phone, I followed Finn not wanting to be alone and leant against John's desk.
I smiled at him and moved to put my arms around his neck, so I was hugging him. He put the phone down and looked at me.
"Did you see the Garrison?" I asked Finn now that his attention was on me.
"Yeah looks shite now." Finn answered back.
"Will they rebuild it?"
"Obviously Rose." Finn said rolling his eyes.
"I'm, excuse me don't talk to me like that." I warned him slapping his arm lightly, after being around Polly you kinda get her attitude.
—
"Do you want to come Rose?" Finn asked making me snap out of my daze.
"Go where?" I asked thinking about the offer. Should I, or am I too lazy to do shit?
"Go find Arthur, Thomas called family meeting."
"Okay sure." I took Finn's arm and sniped his hat away putting it on my head and skipped off so he wouldn't be able to retrieve it.
Finn ran after me and took his hat away from me. We then got to business and found Arthur skipping, he looked a bit violent.
"Arthur. Tommy's called family meeting." Finn said as we walked closer to Arthur.
"Arthur!" I clapped, trying to get his attention as he continued skipping.
"He just beat the shit out of an apprentice." A man said to Finn and I. I stared at the cigar he was holding, grimacing. "I had to take half the kid away in buckets." he added on making me stare in disgust. Poor lad.
Finn looked back at Arthur who had become faster. "Arthur." he started again. Arthur then finally stopped and panted heavily.
"Two thousand." Arthur then looked at the man and looked back at us. Finn pulled at his coat and watched Arthur.
Arthur breathed in deeply before walking past is saying, "Come on."

Somehow I was allowed in the family meeting even though I wasn't family, I guess it's because whatever they said I couldn't really tell anyone else.
I was sat at the table and Finn was annoyingly pacing around. I was glad when Arthur told him to sit down.
He sat down next to me and I grabbed his arm, making myself comfortable. It was rather silent and I hated it. I looked over at Pol who was looking outside a murky window.
John then started asking questions and I blocked him out cause he always asks questions, it gets really annoying so you just learn to freeze it out.
Arthur then suddenly stood up and put a crate of whiskey on the table. He handed a bottle to Finn and he poured some into a small glass.
"Want some?" Finn asked gesturing to the drink but I shook my head. I'm not really a drinker, I was only thirteen should I really be drinking at this age, I'd probably be a lightweight anyway, I've never drunk before.
I then continued to watch Polly's actions when John started talking again making me roll my eyes at him.
I turned my head and played with Finns hand, what I was bored, sitting in silence was boring. But I suddenly snapped my head to a new voice not expecting Thomas to be here.
Esme began talking wanting to voice her words and Thomas talked about 'equal rights for women' and I started listening.
"That was a lot of words. A lot of words." Arthur said reaching to grab a drink and he passed it to Thomas.
Thomas started talking about London and I zoned out, this has noting to do with me so I just went back to messing around.
I wished I could go to London though I remember when I lived there before the accident. I'll probably never go there again, I don't think I want to relive those memories.
—
I was at home with Finn, what do you expect? We're best mates, joined to the hip. Polly has gone out so I needed company. It was late but whatever.
"So Mr Shelby, do you enjoy following people around." I teased Finn putting his cap on.
"Hey give that back Roseline." Finn said using my full first name just to get his hat back.
"No does it suit me?" I asked striking a pose.
"Yes, very beautiful." he said smiling. I then tackled him messing his hair up, I ain't letting him see me blush.
We were very close for the amount of time I knew him, 2 months, wow time goes by fast but it doesn't make John any smarter.
"Hey stop, Rose." Finn complained.
"No, alrighty I better head to bed and so should you Mr." I said jumping up off the sofa.
"Bye Rose." Finn waved leaving.
I headed up to bed and ran straight into bed. God I love him. Wait no I mean as a friend! Yeah as a friend! Best mates.
—
I woke up again like a normal person would and got changed. I headed to the betting shop as I thought Polly would be there.
I walked in to see Esme pushed against the wall with Polly threateningly close.
"Whoa, What's going on?" I asked shocked by the view in front of me.
"Nothing." Polly said before returning to Esme.
"I thought you should know." Esme said to Polly unafraid of her.
"And in this fucking wash house, did they tell you why I went there?" Polly asked getting closer to Esme.
Esme slightly nodded and Polly moved around before putting a knife to Esme's neck. I looked at them shock, do I want to know what's happening?
"You tell a soul in this family, and I swear I will cut you." Polly threatened.
"I don't need a knife to stop me telling secrets given in confidence," Esme replied to Pols threat. "It's a matter of honour." Esme finished.
Polly finally moved away and walked off glaring at me mentally telling me to keep my mouth shut. Esme stayed in her position.
"You Okay Esme?" I asked as she stood there.
"Yeah I'm fine." she said as she sat back down.

In a world where art has power and power is everything, Thando Nkhosi is an MMA fighter trying to stand out and be somebody. At least, as much as one can among 23 billion other people. Life is generally good under the [High King]. That is, until he and his friends are catapulted into the upper echelons of the Inner Planet Federation by being granted a power that may be a bit too much for them to handle, and given a task that seems impossible. Trying my hand at a hopefully unique LitRPG system. No stats or number crunching though. Kinda scifi, kinda fantasy but scifi elements only really become plot relevant after the first arc. Won't be doom and gloom but will get really dark at times. Updates twice a week at minimum (2-3k words), sometimes more when school decides to let me out of the pillory lol.
