"Y/N,when can you come over and spend the night?" My best friend B/Nasks. "Hm..."I hum"I honestly don't know." I admit sliding the bread into the oven. "I have work almost every day,for almost 8 hours a day." I admit"sometimes even 12!" B/N groans and leans on her hand"you suck." I giggle and roll my eyes"hey,if you have anything to say bring it up with my mom." I say as I hear the door ring. I see an older lady walk in,she clearly wasn't from here. Her clothing was to nice to be.
"Welcome to Sweets & Breads. What can I get you today?" I question with a small smile. The lady leans forwards and eyes are sweets before looking up at me"I shall take one of your sweet breads." I nod and get her order together and she quickly leaves.
I live in a small village that has a population of about 150ish. We live in almost ordinary homes like in the cities but obviously not as nice. I live with my mom and my 2 other siblings. My dad left us when my mom gave birth to my little brother Shokumotsu or Shoku. I have an older sister,then my little brother. My mom owns this bakery,we are the best sweet and bread shop in town.
"Hon?" I turn to see my mom walking out of the back room"yes?" She picks up the apron from the hook and wraps herself up with it"go and take a break." My eyes widened"but mom I-"she shakes her head"go. You deserve it. Plus,we are low on butter. So think about this way,think of it as going grocery shopping for me." I nod"o-ok." I take off the apron and hang it on the hanger.

Me and B/N walked around the town. I carried a bag of groceries while B/N had a small bag of store bought candy in her hand. "I don't know how you can eat that stuff." I said"it's nasty." She rolls her eyes"sorry I wasn't raised in homemade stuff." I cross my arms and we continue towards the shop.
"Have you heard that the Hunter's Exam is going to be tomorrow?"I hear someone say"really? I thought that they just had one."
"B/N,what's the Hunter's Exam?" B/N turns to me"you don't know what the Hunter's Exam is?" I shake my head"no...should I?" She nods"the Hunter Exam in short is basically where a group of people come together and go against really hard challenges. I've heard that a lot of people die because of it. And it's really rare for newer people to pass it on the first try." My eyes widened"woah! That sounds like so much fun!" I exclaim"uh,d-do I have to repeat myself?! You could D I E!" I nod"I know." I agree"but I mean,it sounds a whole lot more fun than being here."
She hit me on my arm as I laugh. "TAKE THAT BACK!" I laugh and we finally arrive at the bakery once more. "I've gotta head home. It was nice talking to ya!" B/F yells rushing off. I sigh and push open the door to the bakery.
"I'm back." I say and see my mom doodling on a piece of paper. "Welcome back hon. What all did you get?" She asks getting up from her spot"well the butter obviously then a few snacks and such." I tell her walking into the back room.
"Well,you can put all of that away. I'm fixing to close up shop." I put the bag on the table"huh? Why?" She sighs"business has been slow today. So there's no point in staying open." I nod and hear footsteps down the hall. I turn to see my sister,Ram. "Welcome back." She smiles as I nod"so what are we having for supper?" She asks sitting down at the table"I don't know. Hey mom! What are we-"she hits me over the head"no yelling. I've told you this! And I was thinking about F/Ftonight." I nod with a smile"pleassse!" She nods"alright. I'll get to it."

We sat around the table eating supper until Ram spoke up. "I hear everyone talking about the Hunter's Exam." Ram states as I see my mom nod"yes. They are." I take a sip from my water and set the cup down on the table. "I have a question..."I trail off"what is it?" Mom asks taking a bite of the food"w-well...I wanted to know if I could take the Hunter's Exam?" My mom flinches as my sister chokes on her drink. "DO YOU WISH TO DIE IDIOT?!" Ram screams"R-Ram...keep it down. You'll wake you're brother..."my mom then turns to me.
"Ram is right though..."I nod"but,Hunter's can do anything they want really." I admit"and why do you want to become one,huh?" Ram growls slightly"w-well if I get enough money then I can help us move out of this town!" I admit with a smile"plus,I could maybe fix up this village!" My mom sighs sadly"Y/N..."she trails off"if...if you wish to take the exam...then you may."
My eyes widen as my smile does as well. I jump up and quickly hug my mom"THANK YOU! THANK YOU!" She nods"yes yes. Now please eat up before it turns colder." I nod"so you're leaving tomorrow?" I nod"I'll probably leave early tomorrow..."I trail off"where is it located anyways?" I hum"I think it's in Zanban?" Ram hums"guess that's where I'm going tomorrow then!"

He likes to think of himself as still young, even if he is over fifty. He’s a bit smug about his successful career and is thinking of retiring… until a sadly unfortunate event leads him to the conclusion that he had better immigrate to Mars. Immediately. Apparently, meeting one’s own Angel of Death tends to cause people to make profound changes to their lives… Mars society had better brace itself, because once these three people, plus another three also not so quite stable individuals, collide with each other, the resulting explosion is not going to leave anyone on Mars unaffected. This is another Esmeralda, the Angel of Death, story. It follows on from my previous two such stories, but it is in no way dependent on the previous stories. They can be read in any order. It is fully written and proof read (using Word for Windows, no real editor touched this transcript) and comes to about 247,000 words (about 895 Royal Road pages). It is organized into 50 chapters and I will be publishing them roughly one per day. In my writing, there are multiple characters and multiple points of view. Each change in a point of view is introduced by a header, giving the viewpoint character’s name first, and possibly a title. Inside a Point of View section, dialog in italics represents the Point of View character’s thoughts, while dialog between quotes represent normal spoken dialog. This story is very much inspired by the anime A Certain Scientific Railgun. However I have only taken some elements from the anime, and changed everything I took to make my own story, and so it does not count as fanfiction. Yeah, I know, the book cover page isn’t very good. It’s the best I could do, by tracing over a stock image. The two ladies shown are supposed to be Adalace and Sarsaparilla. Ideally I would have liked there to be two images of this pair, one where they are smiling sweetly and looking cute, and one where they are looking really angry and dangerous. But that totally exceeds my graphics abilities. You will just have to imagine it.
