Deku closed the book and hid it under his desk next to his mothers' spell book. The last thing he wanted was for someone to find either of them. And sure he had a dresser to put it in but, that was too obvious.
Either way, he was done writing, so he quietly stepped out of his dorm. As he expected, there were still some students in the halls, but they of course didn't pay any attention to him. But they were at least a bit surprised when he ran past them. Oh well.
~
After a while, the boy finally came across what he could only think to be a cafeteria. Honestly, Midoriya really didn't think it would take this long to find something new. Aside from the obvious absence of a mystic feel to the place, it still looked pretty cool though. It looked a bit more like a restaurant than a school cafe.
There, he found an odd little girl which looked like a Kitsune with a horn, and an older boy-who looked like an imp-standing with her. And as the outgoing person Izuku is, of course he decided to go talk to them.
As he walked up to them, the little girl noticed him first. "Ooh, Shinsou look!" she called out. The older boy looked up from his book and saw Deku, which make the latter become very nervous. "U-Uh...h-hi...?"
The boy laughed, and closed his book. "So you're one of the new students? To be honest, you seem a lot more antsy than expected."
"Oh uh, y-yeah.." he started. "M-My name's Izuku Midoriya, what are you're names?"
"I'm Hitoshi Shinsou, and this is my sister, Eri." the demon boy explained, and pointed to the little girl next to him who only smiled. "I take it you're still getting used to this place?"

Deku nervously nodded, and asked for some directions to any other places he knew. Turns out, he's not the most open with that, because he sadly didn't give the boy any directions. Accepting defeat, he said goodbye to Eri and Shinsou.
"A little weird but oh well, he probably has his reasons. Maybe I could find some other students in the library..." he started to mumble.
He really needs to stop that.
As he continued to mumble-walk, he might not have watched where he was going.
Izuku somehow made his way to a staircase leading down, and he unknowingly followed suit.
Many winding hallways with different seemingly identical paths, he soon was entirely lost, but he didn't know that just yet.

The Little Black Umbrella
Gillean had just lost his best friend and is feeling utterly miserable and lonely. Being smart doesn't fend off loneliness. If nothing having the combination of smarts AND the lack of forward planning got him into the state he currently was in - rejection and the feeling of being a failure. Cue in the sounds of angelic trumpets. RaRa, his best friend, returns to "save the day". Well. What she thinks of as saving the day that is. Corny ideals, lame ideas. The two get into one last patch of trouble together as they sneak back into RaRa's home. Just what kind of family secrets has RaRa been keeping from Gill. In blood and thunder, Gill finds out. Please read the content warnings (there may be spoilers within though) if you have triggers. Also there is a slight mention of LGBTQ+, so please don't read this short story if even a short mention bothers you. ======================= My first short story (It's short - 5 chapters, 10,000 word-ish kinda short! And also completed *self pats* that I will be releasing in mini chapters (of 500-800 words each) on Fridays and Saturdays.). Happy to hear actionable and constructive criticisms on how I can improve, but please don't be too harsh okay? :) I know it's not perfect. But hey, we all have to start somewhere.
8 144Sir Grace Wachinga, Order of the Hatchet
Grace Howard, a tough street girl in Virginia could become a knight -- if she survives her education. She learns to fight and be a refined lady. She finds good friends, vicious enemies, and finally love and family. The Knight Riding School produces young knights capable of protecting victims the FBI and other agencies cannot. Police policies do not bind them. Carrying swords, knives, and other medieval weapons, they wear bulletproof vests, and use their horses and wolves as fighting and survival partners. I post a chapter about every two weeks, not for the writing part but for editing but because the editing process is so demanding. I give great thanks to those who have helped me learn the art and craft of writing a story, so easily told but written in blood.
8 172The Swimming Pool from Another Freaking Dimension
When the world’s on fire and your garden sprinkler is not going to cut it, there’s only one thing to do: just dig. But the town’s hillbillies are laughing behind your back and your so-called mates are laying bets on you burying yourself alive and venomous spiders are breeding in your 3D printer and those fires are inching closer every freaking day. Just dig, baby. Stranded in a mountaintop suburb monitored by military drones and plagued by wildlife and weather gone crazy, Dezzy and his teenaged neighbour, Sonia, are just trying to save their homes from the next megafires – by digging the biggest, deepest, most badass swimming pool possible. A chlorinated moat at the edge of their derelict suburb that might also provide a refreshing dip in between raging infernos. Only they dig up more than they bargained for, a hell of a lot more. Never mind the secret military base, the burn-scarred locals and their Truth Church, or those birds attacking people out of the blue, because Dezzy and Sonia have bigger things to worry about, things perhaps not of this freaking near-future reality.
