LAURA

It's Friday evening. Laura is freaking out, touching up her makeup and restyling her hair. Michael is coming to get her.

Zara is perched on Jay's laps on her bed. They whisper naughty nothings to each other, laughing to themselves.

Laura's phone rings. "Oh my God, he's here," she cries, reaching for her coat and purse.

Before she can take another step, the door opens and Michael walks in. Jay and Zara stand up.

"Michael! I thought you'd wait downstairs," Laura says breathlessly, accepting the flowers he has brought her.

Zara and Jay watch them in amusement, their arms around each other. Jay's fingers play with the hem of Zara's t-shirt while hers fiddle with the belt of his jeans.

Suddenly, Michael goes down on one knee. Zara can tell that her friend is freaking out, though it's the second time this is happening.

"Will you marry me?" Michael asks Laura, earnestly.

"Yes," Laura replies, her pitch a note higher than normal, pulling Michael up, and kissing him.

"They're so mopey, aren't they?" Zara whispers to Jay, who chuckles.

"We can be mopey."

"Can we?"

Jay kisses Zara and grins. "Only when we're drunk enough."
