LAURA

Michael kisses Laura as he carries her to the bed. She giggles when he takes off his shirt.

He lays down beside her and kisses her again and again, working the zip on her strapless dress. He kisses her neck and her earlobes and her collarbone and her bare shoulders. "You are so beautiful," he whispers with every kiss.

Something stirs in Laura's stomach. Happiness.

She puts her arms around his neck, allowing his trail of kisses to leave behind goosebumps.

Suddenly, Michael's phone rings. He excuses himself and declines the call. Laura turns around, hiding her face in the pillow, feeling shy.

In a second, he's beside her again, this time trailing kisses down her spine.

"Who was it?" She asks him, her voice not higher than a whisper.

"Nobody," he replies, leaning over her to kiss her.

A while later, he stops, and looks at her. "What happened?" She asks disappointedly.

"Laura, we… we need to talk."
