here with you (i'll stay forever).
Angel sat comfortably on George's living room couch, gently stroking the purring cat that dragged himself around her ankles.
It was an unfamiliar house, though it was exactly what she expected his house to look like. Plain beige walls, plain carpet, a sort of neatly-messy.
All his furniture looked as though it most likely came with the house, soft warm tones. It was very George, despite it not being decorated by himself.
She wondered if his bedroom was the same as the rest of his house, or was it decorated how he liked it?
A persons bedroom says a lot about them as a person, whether they're an introvert or extrovert, their favourite colours, it's their own space to express themselves.
"Still no Christmas decorations, George?" Angel smiled at the brunette as he returned to the living room, this time with a floppy-eared dog in his arms, "Its less than a week until Christmas,"
He placed down the auburn puppy onto Angel's lap, dropping down beside her with a soft sigh as Dog bumped his nose against Angel's chin.
"Oh yeah," he hummed, draping his arm around Angel's shoulders before rubbing his thumb along Dog's ear, "I was waiting for you to come over. I thought that we could do it together,"
Putting up decorations was Angel's favourite part of Christmas, hanging up the cherry red stockings along the fireplace, slipping strings of lights around the Christmas tree.
She always wanted to buy her own place, rather than an apartment. Having lights hung along her roof was a dream she always dreamt of.
Perhaps hers and George's future house would have Christmas lights on. They'd live in a neighbourhood illuminated by tiny artificial lights.
"Where do you keep decorations? We can do it now," Angel's sudden excitement and movement startled Dog, quickly opening his heavy eyelids as a natural instinct.
Cat sauntered along the back of the couch, brushing his pebble fur against George's cheek. His pets loved him, they were both much more friendly and loving than Angel's own cat.
"That's the thing," he hummed, smiling as Cat walked down his chest to settle in the small space between Angel and George, "I don't have any,"
All his decorations were at Anastasia's house, that's where they always celebrated Christmas. He never had the heart to step foot back in that house.

Every Christmas since has been George alone in his house, which meant he had nobody to decorate with nor for.
However many invites Dream and Sapnap gave him, he declined every single one. He wanted to be alone, he isolated himself from everyone.
He was too afraid of hurting another person he loved.
"You don't have any decorations?!" Angel's jaw fell agape, though it quickly turned into a smile, she loved going Christmas shopping, "George! We're going to buy decorations,"
George was thankful to not have his old decorations, they all had too much sentimental value, it would put him back into a place he didn't want to be in.
"I have some in the attic, they're all pretty old though," he lied.
"We're going to the shops," Angel was already stood up, laying Dog down in his aqua bed which was covered in silver cat hairs, "You can't have Christmas with no tree or decorations!"
He leant forward, tugging on Angel's hand until she stumbled in front of George, looking up at her with a frown.
"Can't we do it tomorrow?" George threaded his fingers through hers until their palms were flat against each other, gently pulling her to sit back down on the couch, "The shops will close soon anyways,"
They always went out, he wanted to spend the day lounging on the couch with Angel, Cat and Dog. He didn't want to go out into the bitter cold to look for Christmas decorations.
"Nope," Angel shook her head with a sucrose smile, using their interlocked fingers to pull George to his feet, "Get your coat on, we're going!"
He watched her excitedly unhook both of their coats from the coat rack, placing down George's on the arm rest of the couch as she slipped on her own coat.
Despite not wanting to go, Angel's excitement was enough to drag him out the front door. All he wanted was for her to be happy, even if that meant having sacrifices.
Besides, they had forever to have lazy days together on the couch.
With much reluctancy and very shaky hands, George drove the two of them to the nearest B&Q, parking in the space opposite the store.
He couldn't focus on the conversations Angel tried to start in the car, all he could hear repeating like a broken record was, "Don't crash,"

Don't crash. Don't crash. Don't crash. Don't crash!
He wouldn't know what to do with himself if he killed Angel too.
Angel wrapped her hand around George's as they walked into the store, seeming to simmer the messy sugar nerves which spilled throughout his body.
The store was Santa's workshop, artificial snow messily scattered throughout the store, dozens on dozens of Christmas trees and metallic decorations.
Christmas melodies rung through George's ears, melting like sticky toffee around his skull. It was almost aggravating. Seeing underpaid workers rushing around the store with plastered smiles in lime felt elf costumes.
Angel didn't seem to see it the same way George did.
She saw it as a winter wonderland, her liquorice lips parting in a huge smile, running the pad of her thumb along the irregularly shaped baubles.
The baubles rattled in the plastic cuboids as she placed them into the shopping basket, briefly showing them to George before dropping them in.
She knew better than he did, he would simply buy whatever he thought was cool, not necessarily thinking how ugly they would look paired together.
It felt awfully similar. Similar to when him and Anastasia bought their decorations for their first house.
Everywhere.
She was everywhere.
"George?" Angel's voice rung clear over the Christmas songs, feeling almost soothing to his ears, "Do you know where the fairy lights are?"
He didn't know how long she had been stood there questioning him, too busy trying to forget about another girl.
George shook his head, "I'll ask,"
He waltzed up to a man with elf ears hooked over his actual ears, two shades the wrong colour.
"Excuse me?" the man spun around at George's voice, quickly curling his dull expression into the biggest smile George had ever seen, "My girlfriend and I are looking for the-,"
Angel tried to hide her smile at his words, she had been waiting to find out if she and George were official or not. There never seemed to be a right time to ask.
Everything happened all so fast after their confessions in the snow, they never really had time to speak.
George returned, oblivious to the swirling sherbet and sugar bubbling in Angel's sternum, "We walked past them, this way,"
He pointed back the way they had came, down the aisle they had missed because Angel's eye was caught on the golden tinsel on the next aisle.
"Girlfriend?" Angel nudged George's shoulder gently as they walked back to the light aisle, "Is that your way of asking me out?"
He feared that he had made a mistake, that he had been too impetuous.
"Hm?" he hummed, hot sugar flooding his body immediately, "Did you want me to? I thought our whole confession in the snow was pretty official,"
Angel smiled at his reaction, quick to settle the bubbling sugar before it overspilled, "No! No, no, I just wondered,"
She liked what she and George had, a private but public relationship.
"Oh Angeline my love!" George gasped dramatically, dropping down onto one knee in front of Angel, a huge sucrose smile across his face, "Will you do me the honours of being my girlfriend?"
He knew she hated watching proposals, she always said it seemed fake. All just for show. She preferred things to be just between her and her partner, not announced to the entire world.
It was strange how quickly his mood changed around her, she could make him smile simply by the sparkle in her eyes.
"George! Get up!" Angel's cheeks flashed a deep cherry red, her smile never faltering as she tried to pull George up by his hands. He resisted, he wouldn't stand up until she said yes, "I thought you'd never ask! I'd love to!"
He smiled at Angel as he stood up, her flustered face burying into the cotton inside of his coat.
"Is that what you wanted?" George laughed, wrapping his arms around Angel's shaking body as she laughed self consciously into his chest.
"Absolutely not," she tilted her head up to George, her cheeks now a faded pink, "But I'm not complaining,"
Once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes everything.
George managed to meet two people with that power.
Two people who he will forever hold close to his heart.
Regardless of how long they have together.
