It was another rainy day in Konoha when we got the news. That Sasuke had abandoned the village. I had wanted to go with them. The ones sent after Sasuke to save him. However Shika told me I would be best serving here helping Tsunade if trouble arises. As much as I wanted to complain I knew he was right. No one could track as well as I could and besides Tsunade I was the best medic in the village. So here I am waiting with the Hokage while they go to save a fool who doesn't even want to be saved. Yeah I was a little mad. I sat with Tsunade as the rain came down and as she went to grab her glass it cracked. A bad omen. I got a bad feeling something terrible had happened. Like a flash Tsunade was giving orders, assemble a medic team. She then came over to me with a serious look. "I need you to help find our missing team I know you can sense them even from this room so hurry up." I could sense the urgency in her word so I began looking.

It has been easy to find our nin but the damage was bad. Most of the team was nearly dead, including Naruto. I was busy helping Tsunade with each person and luckily they all pulled through. Now I was comforting Shika. He felt terrible. It didn't help that both his dad and temari berated him. He needed it but they could have done it gentler. He stood up and addressed Tsunade accepting full responsibility for the mission failing. I was surprised to hear Tsunade tell him she was just glad we lost none of the team. I had finished helping Tsunade with Naruto and I was exhausted. But I knew Shika needed my support. So I stayed.

Me and Shika were in front of the Kage as she flipped through a folder. "Your returning to Umimura. The intelligence division has had no luck rooting out the ringleaders of the cartel. Shikamaru, you and Shurui will take up the investigation. Your not expected to return till you have the situation under control. Understood?" We both nodded as we were handed the intelligence divisions report. Back to Umimura this time we'll stop those criminals for good. "Your to leave immediately. Dismissed." We bowed as we both headed to our homes to prepare. My first mission as a Chunnin. I hope we can help those people this time.
