Neville Longbottom limped out from the crowd, with the sorting hat in hand.
Not Neville.
"And who are you?" Voldemort asked him.
Neville looked up at Voldemort.
"Neville Longbottom." He spoke quickly.
Voldemorts army let out another echoed laugh.
"Well... I guess we can find somewhere in our ranks for you.... Neville." Voldemort chuckled.
"I-I would like to say something." Neville announced.
Voldemort bit his tongue, and clenched his fist for a moment.
"Yes, I think everyone wants to hear what you have to say." Voldemort replied.
"Doesn’t matter that Harry’s gone." Neville said.
"Pipe down!" Seamus yelled at Neville.
"People die everyday—friends..family. Yeah, we lost Harry tonight. But he’s still with us…in here. So is Fred, Remus, Tonks…all of them." Neville's eyes seemed to darken the more he looked at Voldemort.
This was the first time I had ever seen Neville angry.
It was actually quite scary.
"They didn’t die in vain! But you will! Cause you’re wrong! Harry’s heart did beat for us! For all of us! It’s not over!" Neville hollered, as he pulled the sword of gryffindor out of the sorting hat.
Harry jumped up from Hagrid's arms.
Everyone gasped.
Harry pulled Draco's wand out of his pocket, and fired at the snake.
"No!" Voldemort yelled.
The spell did nothing to the snake.
Harry ran across the rubble, as Voldemort fired at him.
The deatheaters, one by one began shooting up into black clouds of smoke, up into the sky.
I locked eyes with Draco's father.
Something raged inside of me.
I ran up to him.
I didn't have my wand, so with the only option I had.... I pulled my hand into a fist, and winded my arm back.
I showed Lucius the muggle power of a right hook.

As my fist landed across his face, he knocked back, before flying up into the sky with the others.
Voldemort and Nagini, followed as well.
As I turned and began running towards the castle, an arm grabbed me.
Draco pulled me back toward him.
"Here! Take it!" Draco shoved his mother's wand into my hand.
"But... then you have nothing!" I yelled trying to give it back.
"It's for the best, dear." Narcissa spoke directly to me.
I looked up to her, as she gave me a week smile.
"Now, come on, Draco." She turned to him.
Draco looked at me, then back at his mother.
Narcissa blinked slowly.
"Be safe, my boy." She kissed Draco's forehead, before she flew up into the sky.
Draco ran, pulling me by the wrist into the castle.
"We've got to kill the snake, that's the last one!" Harry yelled.
There were people running in all directions.
"Everyone spread out and look!" Ron yelled.
Harry ran down one hall, Hermione and Ron ran down another.
I turned toward Draco.
"Come on, we've got to look!" I told him.
Draco took me by the hand, as we ran around the school.
We ran around for what seemed like forever, until we heard Hermione let out a terrifying scream.
Hermione and Ron were cornered by the snake.
Harry came running from the hall across from us.
I tried casting at the snake, but every spell bounced off its skin.
The snake opened is mouth wide.
Before it could attack, Neville jumped in.
He sung the sword of gryffindor, cutting Nagini's head clean off her body.
That was the last Horcrux.
"Now for him!" Harry yelled, before running off.
Nagini's body turned to ash, and blew away into the air.

We were all too stunned to speak.
Neville quickly turned, and ran away.
"Who's that?" Draco asked, pointing out and into the distance.
Through a hole in the wall, you could see Harry and Voldemort at the edge of one of the tall towers.
Harry grabbing Voldemort, and jumped off the edge.
"No!" Hermione cried.
"Shit!" I screamed.
"Let's go!" Ron yelled, grabbing here by the hand, and pulling her along.
Draco grabbed me by my hand again, and followed Ron's lead.
We weaved through everyone, making it outside the castle.
We ran to were we had seen Harry fall.
There we saw Harry cast one more spell, which turned Voldemort to dust.
We had won.
Harry had defeated Voldemort once and for all.
We all ran up to Harry, and hugged him.
It was over now.
We all pulled away.
Harry walked over, and picked the elder wand off of the ground.
"I suppose this is mine, now." Harry shrugged.
"What are you going to do with it?" Ron asked him.
Harry examined the wand. He stared at it long, and hard.
He took it between his hands, and broke it in pieces, before throwing it off into the distance.
"Oh, look what I had found." Hermione said, digging into her pocket.
She pulled out my wand, and handed it back to me.
I turned to Draco, and handed his mother's wand back to him.
Harry looked at the wand he had in his own hands, which was Draco's.
"Keep it, Harry." Draco smiled at him.
"Thanks, Draco." Harry smiled.
Draco put his arm around my waist, and pulled me a few feet aside.
Draco turned me towards him.
"Would you be mad if I actually did read the note?" Draco smiled, as he spoke.
Embarrassment filled my body, as I looked down at my feet.
"I can't believe you did that!" I scolded Draco.
I felt like I could throw up.
"Now, let me tell you something..." Draco spoke loudly.
Hermione, Ron and Harry, all turned towards us.
Draco placed his hand under my chin, lifting my face to look at his.
"I have loved you ever since I had met you. Anytime I was by you, or even thought about you, I would get anxious. Then, I would get mean, and I didn't mean to take it out on you. I didn't know what I was feeling, or how to express it. I promised you I would protect you, and find you in the very end. Now, I have a new promise for you. I promise to love you, forever and always." Draco's voice was soft and sweet.
He didn't care who was there, neither did I.
"I promise." I replied.
"I promise." Draco smiled.
I looked into his eyes, and there wasn't a single speck of gray.
Draco's eyes were completely blue.
"Now, are you gonna keep staring at me... or are you gonna kiss me?" I chuckled.
Draco placed his hands quickly at the sides of my face, and kissed me.
This kiss felt like the first time I had ever kissed Draco.
And from that moment on, there was no more hiding Draco and I.
We were finally free.
"What's going on?" Ron asked Hermione.
"They're both stubborn, it's complicated." Hermione laughed.

Cosmic Bulldozing Team
"Welcome to the Cosmic Bulldozing Team! CBT for short... references to any other acronyms are purely coincidental." Breve has one exceptional gift: an inborn potential for Resurrection magic. The cost? Every other healing spell she casts is absolutely paltry in comparison to the rest of her race, making her family outcasts within her society. That potential alone, however, classes Breve as a Rank A Healer. By what metric? Well, by the crazy elf lady who’s about to destroy her planet. Wait, what? Here's the low-down: her planet has been targeted by the Cosmic Bulldozing Team, which, as their name suggests, operates in the apparently lucrative business of destroying planets. This comes with the unfortunate side-effect of also murdering everyone who lives there. And Breve would’ve been killed, too, if she hasn’t unintentionally passed their audition for a new healer. Unwillingly saved by the people who just annihilated everything Breve ever knew and loved, she’s dragged into a massive spaceship before, without a moment’s reprieve, being assigned missions to sally forth and commit the same atrocities on other planets. And with Breve's home lying in a pile of celestial bedrock, it seems that cooperating is the only option. And she will cooperate, or so help her, they'll send her back whence she came: into the void of space, where the smashed rubble of her planet now drifts along. "Buckle in, rookie: you've got some planetary destruction ahead of you." (Updates every 2 days.)

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
