《Before The Storm | J. Hale & A. Cullen》0.3

As more and more vampires showed up to the Cullen’s household, the closer Michael got to the little girl named Renesmee Carlie Cullen. He was generally found in the same room as her, even while she was sleeping. He passed the time by reading through all the books amongst the shelves in the room he was given. Jacob wasn’t sure of what to make of the man who seemed to grow productively more protective over his imprint.
She was often seen sitting next to the brunet male as he read, sometimes even aloud to her. The only one who wasn’t put off by his behavior and interest towards the girl was the little girl’s mother, Isabella. Bella was currently standing in the doorway to the living room where the brunet male and bronze haired girl sat. The girl had fallen asleep in Michael’s lap as he had read to her, but when she fell asleep against his chest, he went back to silently reading.
She was glad that her daughter had taken such a liking to her best friend and vice versa. She wasn’t sure how well it was going to go when he had met the girl for the first time, as she had only seen the male around a few older kids, but never with one as young as Renesmee. While Bella knew more about the brunet than everyone at the Cullen’s residence, even she didn’t know many things about his past. He was a mystery to them all, and the thing that seemed to confuse everyone in the house was that the male had a heartbeat. Admittedly, it was much slower than Renesmee’s, but still there nonetheless.
Sometimes it was so quiet and slow that even their enhanced hearing had trouble picking up on it. His blood wasn’t as appealing to them all as Renesmee’s was, as it almost had the opposite effect. Just two days ago, he had cut himself in the kitchen while making Renesmee a snack, and yet, none of the other vampires were tempted by it. Yet even still, Mykie had cleaned up all of the blood in a quick manner and had left the home for a little bit so as to not risk upsetting any of its current occupants.

Edward silently walked down the hallway to the living room and came to a stop behind his wife, snaking his arms around her waist as he placed a kiss on her shoulder. Bella moved to place her hand on top of his, a small smile making its way onto her face as he kissed her shoulder. Her smile slowly dropped as her husband spoke.
“I don’t like him,” he muttered under his breath as to prevent others from hearing. “He acts too much like she is his.”
Bella didn’t take her gaze off the two bodies on the couch as she spoke, the girl fast-asleep as the male slowly started to doze off, his book already having fallen shut beside him.
“You don’t have to like him. He’s the closest thing I’ve ever had to a brother and Renesmee has already taken a liking to him,” She said as she turned around to face her husband. “She might as well be his niece. You’re not going to be able to get rid of him or scare him off just because you don't like him. He can leave whenever he wants to. And do us both a favor and keep out of his thoughts. He likes his privacy, so please, please, do not purposefully push him. He behaves himself unless he feels uncomfortable. Please don’t bother him.”
Edward looked down at Bella with a look of pure disbelief on his face as she pulled away and started to walk towards the kitchen. He grabbed her forearm to stop her, letting go of it when she sent him a glare.
“Bella, you can’t be serious. You're the only one who knows who he is and you don't even know everything about him. How could he possibly be safe for Renesmee to be around?” Bella continued to the kitchen with her husband following her, starting to make dinner for her daughter and the Clearwater siblings who are supposed to be getting there in less than an hour. “You saw how he was with Kate, who’s to say that won’t happen here with one of us?”

She went to answer her husband, but another voice answered before she could get out any words.
“It won’t happen. As long as none of you pose a threat to Izzy and her daughter. I can deal with Tanya. But if Kate comes near Isabella or Renesmee again with the little electroshock thing of hers, I can't promise I will stop myself from protecting them. I am here to help deal with the Volturi, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to harm any of these vamps if they scare or hurt that little girl. As of right now, that protection involves you and that little dog of hers.”
Bella and Edward had both looked over at the doorway in surprise when Michael spoke, not having heard him get up from the couch or approach the kitchen. Before either of the pair could speak, the male was already gone, with the sound of his bedroom door closing on the other side of the house as the only clue as to where he went. Not even ten seconds later, Jacob walked in through the backdoor, the two Clearwater siblings following in shortly after as Jacob went to wake up Renesmee so she could eat with them.
As the three wolves and the Alpha’s imprint sat down to eat, the youngest of the wolves was left to wonder who the cocoa scent belonged to as it lingered in the room and tangled with Renesmee’s scent. Seth didn’t know who it belonged to, but he was planning on finding out before the end of the night.

Star Wars Episode 7: A Corpse Through Which the Force Speaks
The fall of the Empire heralds dark times for humanity. As the New Republic concedes much of the galaxy to alien rule, a group of special forces stormtroopers must find a way to survive the "new normal". This fanfiction sets an alternate course of events in response to general dissatisfaction with the sequel trilogy. In terms of continuity, this story only takes into account the events of the first six movies and Rogue One. Please note: This story comes from the school of thought that the purpose of art is to provoke thought, rather than distract us from reality. I hope that the disturbing parts of this story do just that! This story is COMPLETE.

New kingdoms expand as the old decay. This is a story of those who lived in the times of change. Dear Reader, Thank you for stopping by! This is my first attempt at writing something of more substantial length and would be incredibly grateful to receive feedback and advice. The plan is to post at least a chapter a week and more if I find time. Also, in order to not disappoint any expectations; the story plays in a fictional world reminiscent of the real world 17th to 19th century with some supernatural elements, but no obvious magic or game-like system.
