Gregory's POV
There's an old myth that when a vampire finds his true love they know it almost instantly, that when they find that love something changes inside them. For the first day or so it's as if they are in a small trance, the world is just going on around them and all they can focus on is that person. Their smell is so powerful you want to smell them constantly, and you want to protect them with all you have.
I wanted to believe I was acting strange because I tasted human blood for the first time in many years, but, I couldn't deny it anymore. From the moment I grabbed vivians wrist down in the graveyard and licked her face, ive been different. When we walked to the cows I couldn't stop looking at her, my eyes wouldn't move away. When she fainted I rushed to see if she was okay and when I got close enough her scent overpowered me. She smelled like cherries and the ocean. Clean and fresh.
Now, flying with her I can't help but feel something positive. I keep inhaling her scent. I can't stop. She was so delicate and I wanted to protect her from now on. Seeing her busied from rookery angered me, but, now I'm holding her and she will be okay.
But what am I thinking. She's perfect In every way. She is beyond beautiful and brave. And the biggest thing is— she's human. And me? I'm a teenage vampire who's been trapped the same age for centuries, who has a bad attitude and probably freaked her out. But I can't help what she's my soulmate.
She's my soulmate but I don't have to be hers.
While we fly we both stay mostly quiet. I'm too nervous to say anything. Her tight grip loosens on my shirt

"I trust you wont drop me" she says causally and looks into my eyes
"No I promise I won't" I say back still looking at her
And she makes a small smile and relaxes a little
More almost resting her head on my shoulder
"I promise we won't hurt you or anyone" I speak again. I want Vivian to know I mean no harm to her. That she can trust me and feel safe
"Good. I would hate Tony's only friends brother to try and kill us" she says in a sarcastic tone
The rest of the trip was silent and we make it to their house in no time. The rest of my family was already on an open balcony waiting for us.
We landed and I put Vivian down
"Okay" Tony begins "mom and dad are sleeping. So we have to be careful not to wake them up. We have to go down stairs and then down the basement stairs"
My whole family nods in agreement
"Tony you take them down. I'll stay up here" Vivian says and I can tell by her face she's in pain from her busied side. I'm worried she might have cracked a rib possibly.
"I'll uhh see you tomorrow I guess" Vivian speaks to all of us this time and then quickly turns to her brother as if she remembered something "tony this is the perfect weekend for this to happen actually, mom and dad leave tomorrow before dinner for a golf outing with dads work. They won't be back until Sunday late morning"
"Oh yeah! That's right" tony whispers back "okay follow me guys. I'll be back viv"
And like that we all put our trust in these two humans. I make eye contact with Vivian before I leave the room. She gives me a small wave goodbye. I wish to smell her one more time for the night.

The basement was actually nice. Dark and cold.
"Gregory" mother speaks to me "are you going to go after that girl or can we trust you"
"Mother if I wanted to bite her I could have already" I speak the truth. I don't want to bite her, I wouldn't want to bring her into this miserable life
"Son if you cause harm to them..." my father beings
"I said I won't" I slightly snap.
"Let's go to bed" Anna interjects and grabs my hand "you sleep in that basket next to me"
The moment I put my head down I was fast asleep

Thus is the same in this installment within the series of Origin Point, but instead of outright war, the Ageless speaks to a new audience of Gods, Goddesses, Immortals, and their children of how his past self had to venture into the tutorial world known as Terra where he must fight a War of Attrition. This is so, as he must draw out the God reigning over their world so that he may fight and conquer this deity in order to regain what he desires most. His world.
