《His Angel - Klaus Mikaelson》Chapter 12 - 2x13

The Grill was almost empty at this time of night. I had wanted to go get a drink, after the startling information I had learned.
When I walked in, there was only one table taken. Looking closer, I saw that it was Tyler talking to a blonde woman. Was that Caroline? No, it was Jules...
Judging from the vindictive smile on her face, she was telling him something extremely juicy. I stepped closer, pulling my cap over my face so that they couldn't recognize me.
I sat at the bar and pretended not to pay attention to them when in reality, I was straining to hear what they were saying.
"I know you're a werewolf. And I know your little friend Caroline, is a vampire," she was saying.
"How do you know about Caroline?" Tyler defended suspiciously.
"Kaitlyn told me it was your first full moon, so you can't sniff them out yet," she tattled, and I gritted my teeth in frustration.
"You've talked to Kaitlyn?" Tyler asked in bewilderment.
"Oh yeah, she told me all about you," the blonde said slyly.
That vengeful little bi.....
"Do you know where Mason is?" Tyler questioned.
"He's dead Tyler. He was murdered," Jules revealed. "You wanna know who murdered him? Your little blond vampire did, along with her friends."
"No, stop. Caroline wouldn't..." Tyler tried to say. "Caroline is the only vampire in Mystic Falls. In fact, she's the only supernatural."
"Is that what she told you?" Jules cooed. "She lied. This town is crawling with supernaturals. Vampires, werewolves, witches, and who knows what the Paige girl is."
"Kaitlyn is supernatural?" Tyler said in surprise.
"Not as innocent as she looks huh?"
"Who are you?" Tyler breathed angrily.
"I'm your friend," Jules said firmly.
That's it. I couldn't just sit here and listen to this anymore. I stood up abruptly, the noise in the quiet Grill catching the attention of the pair.
I marched out of the Grill quickly, realizing my mistake. Shoot! I shouldn't have brought any attention to myself. I pulled my cap off and started running down the street.
"You! Stop!" I heard Tyler bellow but kept going.
I heard his thunderous footsteps running after me, and eventually, I slowed. If I kept running, I would definitely be proving my guilt. I needed to show him that I wasn't the enemy.
"Tyler. Listen to me," I panted, out of breath.
He reached me, looking angry and confused. We were in the town square, but it was extremely late now, and no one was out here but us.
"Is it true what she said? I know you heard us!" he demanded.
"It's true," I replied. "But don't blame Caroline for this! She didn't tell you about the others because it wasn't her secret to tell!"
"So I can blame you then?" he threatened, taking a closer step towards me.
"What? This isn't my fault. I don't even know you that well! And besides, would you have believed me?"
"I don't know what to believe right now Kaitlyn. All I know is that I'm angry! And right now, you're the only person here who I can unleash it on!"
"We can talk about this," I put my hands up in surrender. "Tyler, I know you're feeling out of control right now, I know that you feel like your rage is going to consume you, but it's not, okay? Please, just breathe."

The vein in his forehead pulsed as his muscles stood at full attention. It was apparent that he was losing control. And so I did the only thing I could think of.
I rushed forwards and hugged him hard. I shut my eyes closed, and felt his heart rate accelerating and then slowing. He was breathing easier, as he let himself relax.
Finally, I stepped away from him.
"This doesn't mean I forgive you," he said firmly, and I nodded understandingly.
"I think the person you should go talk to is Caroline," I suggested. "But you need to keep in mind that she's had a hard time lying to you as well."
He agreed, and then walked away, allowing me to calm down a little. But all I saw was red. I was so mad at Jules that I could barely think. I had had enough of her annoying smug face and her big mouth!
I stomped back towards the Grill, ready to give her a piece of my mind when I heard her voice from behind me.
"Coming to see me?" she mused snarkily, and I spun around angrily.
"I thought you were only here to find out what happened to Mason. Well, guess what? Case solved, you can leave now!" I spat, but she just chuckled darkly.
"I might have lied about that. See, this town and your friends are all part of a bigger plan. Of his plan."
"What are you talking about?" I demanded.
"Nothing you need to worry your pretty little head about," she whispered, taking a menacing step closer to me. "You know, you're really starting to put a kink in my plans, with your nosy antics."
I stumbled back but rammed into a hard chest. The unfamiliar man clamped a ragged cloth over my mouth, and my eyes bulged as I tried to get free.
I attempted to kick back against his groin, but the chemicals on the rag were starting to kick in, and my moves were sluggish, as I sank into oblivion

1867 Flashback
The time had come. I had sent up a maid who was especially pretty only mere seconds ago and was gripping my bags in hand.
It was currently 22:58, and I was prepared to leave immediately. I crept down the servant's stairs and quickly made sure that they were all asleep. Their headquarters were dark, and so I had to quietly feel my way around.
There were only a few candles lighting the way, and I used those not to crash into furniture.
Finally, I found the trapdoor that let me outside. I was unlocking it when I heard footsteps creak down the stairs. I froze and tried not to make a noise.
Then all the lights turned on, and I heard judging tuts as a figure came into view.
"Sister, sister," Liam chastised murderously, holding what looked to be that old sword in his hand. "What are you doing out of your bedroom, this late at night?"
"What are you doing?" I asked back boldly, and he sucked his teeth.
"That's not how this works," he snarls. "I bet you think that whore would keep me busy long enough for you to escape. But I'm cleverer than that dear sister."
I gulped loudly and stood up, trying to conceal the trap door, even though I was pretty sure he had already seen it.
"What do you want?" I interrogated. "You cannot stop me from leaving Liam."

He chuckled darkly and brandished the sword in front of him. "All I need is a little bit of your blood. The toxin will do the rest for me."
I stumbled back in fear as he stepped forward. "S-stop! Get away from me!"
He smiled maniacally and my elbow bumped against the counter, knocking something over. We both froze, startled by the loud noise as we watched liquid gasoline run across the floor.
The trapdoor was slightly ajar, and the clear liquid dripped through the cracks as it coated the entire floor of the small room.
I looked anxiously at the various candles surrounding us.
"Stop moving!" he hissed, face to face with me now as he unsheathed his weapon.
"What do you need my blood for?" I demanded.
"All you need to know is, that you have power, and I want it!"
Before he could press the blade to my skin, I kneed him violently in his crotch, and he grunted bending over. Then I punched his face as he was leaning towards me in pain. With my hand throbbing, I ran around him and kicked him towards the counter, where his forehead hit the edge, and he passed out.
I panted slightly at my brother's unconscious figure, before sweeping my hair off my shoulders into a light bun. Then I noticed something.
The impact of his body hitting the counter shook one of the candles, and it was teetering dangerously on the edge.
"No!" I yelled, shooting out my hand to stop it, but it flipped over, the flame scorching my palm.
I shrieked and pulled my arm away, the candle falling on the ornate rug. Almost instantly, a line of fire shot around the outline. Encaging me and my brother in the middle. Luckily, the trapdoor was in the middle of the carpet, and I had already flipped it open.
I gathered my stuff and jumped through the trapdoor. Before I closed it, I took a last glimpse at my brother's body.
I took out a comb from my bag and threw it at his head hoping it would wake him up. I didn't want him to die!
He groaned lowly at the thud and sat up slowly. That was all the encouragement I needed. I slammed the trapdoor shut and heard his enraged cry shortly after.
Falling into a thorny bush, I quickly scrambled out and ran towards the carriage, which had just arrived. It was a good thing I had started earlier.
I waved at the driver and then jumped into the back, nestling my bags next to me.
"Drive," I ordered hoarsely. "Please."
The carriage started unsteadily across the cobblestones as I gazed back at my childhood home.
Suddenly, there was a thunderous blast, and the house exploded in dust and fire. I screamed as the carriage was propelled in the air, sending me into plunging darkness.
When I awoke, I would find the dead corpses of everyone I had known, and a mysterious circle of shrapnel around me, causing me to wake in a clean circle and unharmed.
I couldn't find my brother's body, and so I assumed he had been turned to ashes immediately since he was the closest to the fire.
End of Flashback
"Wakey wakey," I heard a gruff voice sing tauntingly, and a dull throbbing pain pulsed in my head as I regained consciousness.
I was in what looked to be a small cage, my legs curled up as I struggled to fit. I looked through one of the bars to see a man with a cropped hairstyle sitting bored in a chair.
"And the sleeping beauty awakes," he said. "Took you long enough. Aren't you supposed to be supernatural or something?"
I glared at the man and sat up, tucking my knees in and resting my chin on them.
"Why are you doing this?" I demanded. "Were you the one tailing me?"
"I'm doing this because Jules told me to. You were getting on her nerves. And no, I wasn't the one following you. That was our other friend."
"Who?" I asked, but received no answer.
I huffed angrily and wrapped my hands around the bars of the cage, furiously shaking it. I rattled it for a good 2 minutes, before the man jumped up angrily from his seat, and stomped towards me.
He stuck his hand through the bars and around the back of my head. Then he rammed my cheek up against the cage, and I yelled in pain.
"Shut. Up," he growled, before letting me go and sitting back down again.
A few seconds later, Jules came in dragging a limp body with her. My eyes widened when she put the female body in the cage with me, as I saw it was Caroline.
"What did you do to her?!" I yelled angrily.
She stirred and woke up, whimpering in pain as she tried to pull the bullet that Jules must have shot in her forehead.
"Kaitlyn?" she gasped in horror as she took in her surroundings. "LET US OUT!"
She screamed furiously and started rattling the cage, as I attempted to calm her down. Finally, her rage settled, and she panted, sitting back down.
"That was nasty," the man chuckled. "I've got lots of wooden bullets. A lot of toys. Now, remember, you heal quicker than your friend."
At that, he gave a menacing look at me. Then, he pulled out his pistol and aimed it at Caroline. I tried to move in front of her, but it landed on her shoulders, and she shrieked hoarsely.
"It's going to be a long night sweat pea."
∆ ∆ ∆
Caroline was sobbing quietly in the corner, while I tended to her wounds, digging out the bullets and taking off my jacket to wipe it up.
"So, how many vampires are in this town anyway?" the man asked, getting up.
"I've already done this with Jules," I noted, and his gaze snapped towards me.
"And I already told you to be quiet," he ordered, turning back towards Caroline.
At her lack of an answer, he took out a water gun and sprayed some vervain at her face. I shot my hand through the bars and knocked it out of his hand.
"Why are you doing this to us?" I hissed, trying to block out Caroline's pained sounds.
"You. You are really starting to get on my nerves. It's a wonder Jules hasn't killed you yet," he growled. "Maybe I'll get the pleasure of doing it myself."
"You didn't answer my question," I said under my breath.
"She's a vampire. You're annoying. Why not?" he muttered nonchalantly. "If you speak again, I won't hesitate to shoot you with something more painful."
He continued interrogating Caroline, and when she refused to answer, he hurt her with one of his weapons. After about 5 minutes of staying silent, I couldn't take it anymore.
"So you're just doing this because of some old rivalry between werewolves and vampires? That's the stupidest thing I've heard all day," his attention stopped on Caroline and turned on me.
"You're a coward," I spat. "And I don't care if you hurt me now, but it won't change the fact that you are nothing but a pathetic weaselly, might I add, UGLY–"
I didn't get to finish my sentence though, because with his jaw clenched, he took out his regular pistol, and shot at my thigh. My scream echoed in the caravan as Caroline flinched.
"Please, don't hurt her," she begged, but he smiled devilishly, about to shoot again when Jules marched into the vehicle.
"Come outside now. We have some unwelcome visitors," she ordered quietly, looking at me and Caroline, an unrecognizable feeling flashing in her eyes.
"You didn't have to hurt them that badly," she hissed as he followed her out.
"Kaitlyn," Caroline sobbed, sitting in front of me. "You're going to be okay! From the looks of it, we've got help. Just stay awake okay?"
My vision was hazy as I gritted my teeth in pain. It was as if there was a thorn in my thigh, poisoning me with its pain as it disabled my leg from working.
"Now are the times I wish I could heal as quickly as you," I wheezed, my body convulsing as I tried to maintain my leg.
"Stay with me," she whispered fiercely. "WE'RE IN HERE!" she screamed, hoping that our friends outside would hear us.
The door swung open, and I lifted my head, hoping it was one of the good guys, but it was the man who walked in.
"You think your friends will be able to save you?" he laughed. "Lucky for us, we just called a whole bunch of our werewolf friends over, and unfortunately for you, they've outnumbered your bunch."
He grabbed a huge shotgun and crouched next to the cage eyeing Caroline with malicious sadism.
"Jules banned me from killing you," he told Caroline. "But she never said anything about your pretty friend."
He positioned the shotgun at me, and in my last desperate attempt to save us, I screamed.
It was as if the sound of my voice had reached out and grasped a higher power, as an enormous white flash blinded the room. I shut my eyes and covered Caroline's as well. The man screamed in agony, as the room got hotter and hotter still.
There was a moment when I thought I would erupt in ashes as well, but then the light ceased, and I tentatively opened my eyes.
The man had completely incinerated, literally turned to dust. I looked frantically towards Caroline, but she was okay, and so was I.
"Did you...." she whispered. "Did you do that?"
"I, I think so," I replied unsteadily, as a wave of nausea rushed through me.
I doubled over to the side and puked my breakfast, lunch, and dinner unceremoniously. My body felt weak, and even though my bullet wound was getting better, I felt light-headed and dizzy.
"Damon! Damon in here!" I heard Caroline yell through the fog.
Her voice was distorted, but I heard the cage door open and Caroline crawl out.
"You go, I've got her," I heard Damon's voice utter as he pulled me out of the small exit.
"I saw a flash through the van, was that you Lyn?" he asked, trying to keep me awake.
"Yup," I croaked. "I have superpowers."
"Yes you do," he tried to laugh. "Okay, just relax, I'm here now."
I think I was standing against a wall, but my knees buckled at my own weight, and I felt Damon's arms catch me gently.
"I've got you," he whispered, slipping his arms under me and lifting me up. "You can rest now."
My eyes fluttered closed, as I buried my head into his chest.
∆ ∆ ∆
The first thing I heard when I regained consciousness was Damon telling someone to get out.
"We didn't finish our conversation," I heard an unfamiliar man's voice say. "I've been thinking, personal feelings aside Damon. I think you and Stefan will do all you can to protect Elena."
"I agree with that statement," Damon admitted, and I opened my eyes slowly, the ceiling above me spinning.
"So, I come bearing gifts," the man said.
I heard a rustle and Damon's intake of breath. "What the hell is that John?"
Who the heck was John?!
"This is how you kill an original," I heard John say secretively. "In this vial, is ash from a white oak tree that dates back to the genesis of the Originals. The dagger must be dipped into the ash and then plunged into their heart."
"How do you know all of this John?"
"Isobel," was the man's reply.
The unfamiliar names confused me, and I slowly sat up from the couch I had been laying on, to realize the voices were coming from the room next to this one.
"Where is Isobel?" I heard Damon challenge as I crept closer to the doorway.
"Let's just say if she accomplishes in whatever she's attempting, Klaus, will never set foot in Mystic Falls."
Suddenly the man walked out of the room, where he saw me and stopped in surprise.
"It seems you had an eavesdropper. Goodbye Damon," he said seriously, before leaving the house.
"Kaitlyn," Damon uttered as he walked over to me. "How are you feeling? I was so worried."
"I'm fine," I waved away his concerns. "Are you planning on killing Klaus that way?"
"I'm going to kill Elijah," Damon told me. "I've already gotten the perfect plan. It begins with a nice family meal."
"Okay," I said hesitantly. "By the way, where's Rose? I wanted to go catch up with her."
"She's been gone all day, mourning her friend Slater," Damon explained, and I nodded.
"Okay, well, I'm going back home."
"You don't want to stay here?" Damon asked sheepishly. "There are many extra bedrooms."
I smiled softly. "I think it would be best if I left. Bye."
