I love the open water,

And what she offers;

Adventure and therapy.

However,

She's scary,

And I can't ever trust her,

Not fully.

A surface so lovely,

In her blues and greens,

And she's cool and hot,

But that's just the top.

The deeper I go,

The less I know.

Dark mysteries foam,

From an endless bottom,

Rising and repeating,

A coded warning.

Their teeth;

Gobbling my mind,

Their speed;

Impossible to evade.

And so I stay away.

For a day,

I did,

And that's the stupidest thing,

I ever did.
