Zachary scoffed while you wondered who the boy infront of you is. He has black hair, lime green eyes and is slightly tanned. He seems around your age. 'Could this be Zach's cousin?' You thought.
Your thoughts were interuppted when your hand was grabbed by the unfamilair boy. He gently kissed your hand. "What a beautiful lady you are. May I know your name?" The boy asked.
"M-My name...What is my name?" You muttered, unable to progress his words due his captivating eyes. He chuckled. "Oh, you asked my name! My name i-is '(y/n)'..." You felt embarrassed.
"I see, '(y/n)'. It's a very beautiful name. My name is 'Neil Raomi' from the 'Raomi' kingdom. I'm Prince Zachary's cousin." The boy faked a smile at Zachary who 'tsk'ed. "It's seems like the Alby family is taking care of you." Neil looked back at you. You nodded with a smile.
"May I ask you for a dance?" Neil held his hand out to you. You started becoming nervous. "Actually I and (y/n) were going to—" Zachary got cut off. "I won't take no for an answer, (y/n)." Neil smirked slightly. You hesitantly grabbed onto his hand.
"Stupid brats." Zachary muttered angrily under his breath and walked away.
You accidentally stepped on Neil's foot as you two were dancing. "Y-Your highness, I'm sorry!" You panicked. "It's alright, (y/n)." He smiled sweetly at you. You sighed in relief.

"Sooo...ummm, Zachary...Did you dance with anyone?" You asked. The ball was over. "No." Zachary muttered. You two sat by the balcony in one of the hallways, staring down at the big garden. "Are you okay...?" You asked softly. "No, I'm not! I didn't like any of the girls at the ball, but one of them is probably going to marry me!" Zachary snapped. You flinched. "They weren't beautiful enough for you...?" You asked. He calmed down a bit. "That's not it. It's not about their looks. I feel like there won't be a genuine love connection. She will only like me for my looks and the same goes for me." Zachary sighed.

"Love at first sight? Prince Charming? Cinderella? No...? But if it's a really nice girl, you will naturally start loving her once she becomes your wife. Right?" You smiled. He glanced at you. "You're so innocent." He softly flicked your forehead. "What do you mean?" You pouted.
"Zach!~!" The high-pitched voice of Olivia made Zachary cringe. He turned around. "What is it?" He asked. "Did you find anyone?!" She asked excited. "No." He replied coldly before turning around again. "Hmmm?" Olivia quirked her eyebrow, unstatisfied with her brother's answer. She walked up to you two and sat down besides Zachary.
"Zach...This is just how it goes...We can't change it." Olivia said. She patted Zachary's head. "Yes, I know..." He trailed off. "Ah, Zach is not ready for marriage~? You're such a baby~!" Olivia teased, pinching Zachary's cheek. "Hey, stop it!" Zachary pushed her hand away. "Aww, (y/n), look! Zach is a big baby, isn't he?" Olivia turned to you. You giggled nervously as Zachary gave you a warning look. "Well, you're a gold digger!" Zachary shouted at Olivia, making her shut up before she cackled into a laughter. "So what? Heh?" She chuckled.
"Cheer up. Let's dance." Olivia stood up. She grabbed your hand. "Ummm?" You gave her a puzzled look. She pulled you with her to the center of the hallway. "Join us, Zach!" Olivia smiled. Zachary rolled his eyes. "I don't feel like dancing again." He replied. "Not that boring ball dance, Zach. Right, (y/n)? No one is watching us here, so we can do whatever we want." Olivia smirked. "Yess!" You started your funny dance. Olivia laughed. She grabbed Zachary's hand. "Come on, Zach." She pushed him towards you.

Zachary walked through the garden. He admired the flowers. From far off he could hear your and Olivia's giggles as you two were on the swings. 'Olivia has gotten closer to (y/n) today.' He thought. He continued walking through the garden till he spotted someone sitting on the bank. Anna.
Zachary walked towards the brown haired female. Anna looked up from her notebook as she saw him. "Hello, Zachary." She greeted him. A small smiled appeared on her face for a second. "Hi." Zachary replied. "Can I sit here?" He asked. She gave a nod. Zachary sat down next to her. He felt the urge to look at Anna's notebook, but looked away.
"I can see you're not in a good mood, Zachary. Mind telling me what's bothering you? As your older sister it's my job to take care of you." Anna closed her notebook and glanced at Zachary. Zachary tensed up. He avoided looking in her green eyes that glimmered with curiousity and concern. "I think it has something to do with the ball." Anna said. Zachary looked at her.
"One, you're jealous. Two, you don't like the idea of marrying someone you barely know." Anna said. Zachary frowned at her words. "Jealous? " He said disgusted. "Yes, sorry for saying this, Zachary. But you didn't like the fact Neil and (y/n) danced together. You got jealous." Anna said. Zachary gritted his teeth. "Shut up, Anna." He stood up, but Anna grabbed his wrist, stopping him. "You will feel better if you talk to someone about your problems." Anna said. She smiled gently. Zachary sighed. Anna let go of him as he sat down again. He scowled a little, looking away from Anna.
A few minutes passed till Zachary decided to talk to Anna again. "How do I...ummm..." He blushed. Anna tilted her head in confusion. "Yes?" She asked softly. "Um...What d-do I have to do to...m-make (y/n) like me more...?" Zachary asked embarrassed. He looked down at the ground, cheeks burning red. 'How embarrassing! I swear, if Anna tells this to anyone-!' "I will help you. It's cute how you got a parent and child relationship with (y/n). And I won't tell anyone, don't worry." Anna said. She patted Zachary's head. 'Why do they keep petting my head like I'm a baby or a pet?' Zachary thought slightly annoyed. 'Well, they care for me...They are nice sisters, to be honest...' He smiled slightly.
"You have to forget you're a prince when you're around (y/n)." Anna said. Zachary snapped out of his thoughts. "...Wait, what?!"

The Triumphs and Tribulations of Kai Jameson
Kai Jameson is an average everyday young man. He still lives at home with his parents after having just graduated from college. He loves playing video games and his job at the local Buy More is tolerable. Of course that all changes the moment the system arrives and the Earth is connected to the Nexus. Turns out Kai was trapped in time for about eighteen months while the people already here got a headstart on him. He lucks into being rescued by some people from a town called Donnyton and learns that if he wants to survive in this New Earth he'll have to work harder than ever before. The rewards are worth it. This is Kai's story, the moments of his triumphs, and the moments when he feels that things couldn't possibly be worse. Thanks to puddles4263 and his story The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound for the inspiration on the world this is set in. If you have never read that I highly recommend it, and if you have read it and enjoyed that story then I hope you'll enjoy mine as well. This is the first story I'm ever putting out for public consumption so reader beware on that. Any constructive criticism is always appreciated, simply leaving a half star review tells me that you're a moron who doesn't know how to use words. I'm constantly trying to improve my writing and feedback and criticism on what works and what doesn't is the only way to do that at the point I feel I am at. Last, I just marked all the content warnings because you never know where a story will take you and I don't want to exclude anything (though there will never be a harem). I am going to release 1-2 chapters per week on Fridays. Thanks and enjoy.
