I can't sleep. It's not that I won't, I just can't. I keep waking up. I decided to get out of bed and go for a walk. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time staying! Maybe walking will calm me down. I slipped my shoes on and walked out the tent. I took a deep breath, feeling the cool air brush across my face. Sighing, I took a step, followed by others until I reached the forest. I gazed at the moon-lit sky, smiling at the cheerful stars.
I hadn't been walking for long when I saw a silhouette of a figure up ahead of me. I stopped in my tracks, observing it. It was tall, and had a slender yet firm build. I knew who it was and I smiled. I quickly walked over, but not too quickly. I've been in love with this boy ever since I saw him. He always makes me feel light, like nothing else matters.
"Peter?" I softly said when I was close behind him. When there was no reply I got a little worried. I jumped in front of him. "Peter?" He looked up from the ground and furrowed his eyebrows. "Y/n? What are you doing?" I smiled a little, "Couldn't sleep. Everything... alright?" I tilted my head slightly to the left. He shrugged his shoulders, "I... kind of. I'm just going to head back to camp. You coming?" Smiling, I joined him.

We walked in silence until we finally reached the camp. Peter stopped at his tent as if hesitating to go in. "Y/n?" I turned at the sound of my name, "Yeah?" "Uh... will you... stay with me?" Peter softly asked, growing shy. "Sure." I replied following him into his tent. We climbed into the bed and Peter pulled me closely into his chest. He sat up and I laid my head on his lap. I took his hand in mine and played around with it. "Peter?" I whispered his name, "What's wrong?"
Peter sighed and I sat up to face him. He looked down at his hands not knowing what to do with them, "I'm just sad I guess." "Why?" I was worried about him. I've never seen him like this. Actually... I don't think anyone has. "Uh... you." Peter looked up from his palms and I felt my heart drop. I didn't know what I did to hurt him, but I wish I did. "W-what do you mean Peter?" I could hear my voice become heavy, a bit down. "It's nothing you did, just I don't know how to say it. I see you and everything is different... It's not like anyone else. I feel happy around you but then I start thinking. You're beautiful and amazing in every possible way Y/n and anyone would kill to spend one day with you. You really can get anyone you want. All the boys feel the same. They're all better than me and I think, 'Why would Y/n ever see me the same way'..." Peter looked back down at his hands. "Peter why would you think I wouldn't? You're the best you and no one can compete with you. I've been in love with ever since day one!" I said with so much honesty it made me blue. Peter raised his eyebrows and looked up at me, "Really?" I smiled, nodding. Within a blink of an eye, I felt Peter's lips crash against mine. Returning the kiss, I wrapped my arms around his neck. His dropped down to my waist, pulling me into his lap. We both pulled away breathless, breaking the kiss. He pressed our foreheads together, pulling me down to lay next to him. He buried his face in the crook of my neck as I ran my hands through his brown hair. "I love you Y/n." he whispered. "I love you too Peter."

Meek
After failing as an apprentice cooper and a town guard, Eli finds his place at the Rockbridge archives. Sure, he's the oldest 'junior scribe,' but he likes the job. And he's good at it, too. Then he completes an apparently-insignificant project, and the brutal reaction shocks him--with consequences that eventually shake the world. Eli gains powers. Rare and inhuman abilities. He progresses slowly, steadily, and not without setbacks. He changes, too. Is he a hero, a villain, a human, a monster? Depends who you ask. Meek is an epic fantasy with elements of progression. The basic magic is simple: five Paths, each with a different powerset. However, complexity arises from combinations, and the protagonist wields a magic all his own. Meek is set in the Valley, the only (as far as anyone knows) human empire that survived a Final Battle against a terrible foe. The Valley is warded against infiltration, but the enemy learned how to warp human souls, to foment discord within. However, another soul is also ... changed. Perhaps even 'warped.' And that soul is starting on a long (long, long) path that might, one day, prove that the Final Battle wasn't so final after all.
