《Where's Waldo x Reader》Chapter 19

After another time travel experience with Waldo you arrive at your destination, the air is hot and you end up having to stuff your various winter clothing into a bag. You were here, you were in Egypt!
"Are we in ancient Egypt or.." you look up at Waldo innocently. He gives a nerdy chuckle and points out to the vast pyramids in the distance.
"Ancient Egypt!" he says in an as-a-matter-of-fact tone, gesturing to the various slaves working on the 4 or so pyramids around the area. "We don't have those now-a-days." Waldo says with a wink. You shrug and you use your hand to shield your eyes from the relentless sun above.
"Anyways.. do you wanna do a picture here or-" Waldo grabs your camera, hops back and takes a picture of you.
"The most beautiful photo we could take has already been taken" he says, putting the camera back around your neck. You feel your face go flushed and you stuff your hands in your pockets.
"You still never told me why those other guys popped up in the first photo" you say with a hint of annoyance in your voice. Waldo turns around and adjusts his glasses with a smile.
"I figured if we had more people in the photo to look for, it would be more enjoyable to have them." he says. His tone feels genuine, a bit more than normal.
"Well yeah! I just thought that.. well things could maybe stay between you and I.." you shake your head "I mean, I'd rather not have to many people involved?" that seemed reasonable.
"You said you just wanted these photos to keep, right?" He asks.
"Well I was thinking.. maybe we could make a children's book?" you notice that your voice is suddenly a lot softer.

"A.. children's book?" He says, his hands gripping his cane a bit tighter than before.
"Yeah! Is.. something wrong with that?" You ask.
"I'd prefer if we-" Waldo is cut short by a man placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Aref! How are you doing?" the voice was from one of the various people working on the pyramids. Waldo turns arounds and looks at the smile, a smile sprawling across his face.
"Steve!" Waldo throws his hands in the air. "How are you doing?"
Steve??? Aref?? What's going on here?
"Not bad." Steve nods. "Well actually, I've been better." Waldo drops his hands and his smile.
"What's happening? I thought everything was alright since I was here last" He says.
"Well, we have a new emperor as of late and.." Steve leans in. "She's a bit mean.." Waldo frowns a bit more.
"Who took over?" he says, his tone shifting from light-hearted and fun to a much more serious tone.
"Maybe I should just.. introduce her to you Aref." Steve says, grabbing Waldos hand. You feel yourself freezing again.
What is this I'm feeling?
You follow Waldo and Steve as they walk towards a pyramid. The construction happening around you was actually a bit dizzying, it felt like there were endless men carry bricks to add to the various pyramids. Steve (still holding Waldo's hand) tugs Waldo into one of the pyramids.
"Oh dear.." you hear Waldo say.
"What! What is it?!" You say, nearly prying your way into the pyramid past Steve and Waldo. Upon seeing who was in charge your jaw drops.
Striped beanie, long feminine brown hair and more striped apparel. You recognized her right away. "Wendy!" You say with a shout.
