《The Alpha and I (Book 1)》24. Alpha Ash

I woke up in a hot sweat and look frantically around the room, Cici isn't next to me and I quickly hop out of bed to find her. I just woke up from a bad dream, I needed to see her safe...I dreamt that I was here and she was bleeding out in the forest, left to die and I had no idea until it was too late. I know dreams aren't real but I am on edge and I just need to feel her here in my arms so I can settle. I look at my phone and see it's 4am, where could she be?
I wonder through the dark house we share and I can't find her anywhere... my heart is pounding and I know Victor is pacing in my head. I can't get her dying breathes out of my head and I feel like I'm going crazy. I go to the kitchen downstairs and see a note with my name on it... I sigh with relief, she probably went for a run after the amount of sleep we had yesterday. I turn on the lights and sit on a stool at the island to read it.
Dear Ash (my handsome alpha),
I'm sorry I didn't speak to you before I left, I knew you'd try to stop me but my heart is set on this so please let me follow through with my plan.
I have left for my fathers pack. I am going to challenge him one on one. I am the rightful Alpha to The Midnight Sky Pack after he is gone. I want to do this to save the lives of the other Pack members who only follow his orders but don't believe in his methods.
I need to save them as well as us, I hope you can understand.

I will be gone for a week or two. I need to challenge him and win and then I will need to sit down with the pack and sort a lot of things out like how they will be joining our pack and our territory so you can lead as Alpha with me as Luna.I will give them the choice to leave as rogues or transfer to another pack who I will make the arrangements with on their behalf. I also need to go through all my dads books and find out what to do with the prisoners he has as I know first hand many of them are innocent.
I need to do this my perfect mate... once I have sorted this I can focus fully on our pack and our lives.
Please, please understand me and leave me to do this!
I will shut off my mind link until I am going to be coming home. I have also left orders for Darius in a note for him about how he can help you prepare there for the wolves I will be joining to our pack.
I love you, my one and only Alpha... you can tell me how stupid I am when I return but for now take care of the pack. Also make sure you sleep plenty for when I return as you won't be sleeping for a while when I get my hands on you!
All my love and my undying loyalty...
Your Luna.
Xxxx
I let out a low growl and mind link Paul and Darius to wake the hell up and come and explain what they know.
I can't believe she would do this... we could have gone together... then at least I would know she was safe.
Victor let's out a long howl for his Maya, no reply came through the crisp, dark night. He was as hurt and offended as I was. Our mates left and didn't trust us to know before they left... what was I supposed to do now?!

A (Not So) Simple Fetch Quest
Oh great hero! The evil Demon Lord has once again arisen to terrorise our lands, and we have summoned you to save our people! No, we don't want you to fight the demon lord! Of course not; we're the good guys! What sort of good guys kidnap people from other worlds and force them to take part in wars that have nothing to do with them? That would just be plain evil! We'd be no better than the demons! Katie, after her summoning by an excessively loud mage suddenly takes an unexpected twist, is sent off on a simple fetch quest, with a promise that she'll be back home in five minutes at most. She doesn't even need to leave the building. Alas, when a goddess' blessing causes her wish for an actual adventure to be taken rather more literally than she expected, she finds herself lost in a dark cave, far away from the sword she was supposed to acquire and far too close to a population of giant bugs. Still, at least she wished her life wasn't in any danger. Among other things. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it. This is a dark litRPG adventure, both in terms of Katie accidentally wishing all the lights out, and also in that she loses as often as she wins, often with horrific and disturbing consequences. Luckily, Katie isn’t the sort of person to let a mere grizzly death or two get her down, and is prepared to try, try and try again to get her hands on the holy sword and finally complete her ‘simple’ fetch quest. Or perhaps—with a few resistance skills under her nightie—she might even come to enjoy losing. Not that she’d ever consider forgoing revenge, even if she did. I’ve ticked all the content warning checkboxes for this one. There’s no explicit sexual content, but there are enough references to justify the warning. Profanity happens rarely, but Katie isn’t averse to swearing when she gets particularly angry. As for gore/trauma, it doesn’t get much worse than the first few chapters, but there will be occasional chapters that have extra content warnings.

Dream of the Abyss
Elisa Mary Grant died in a hospital bed after being stuck in it for six months, and like any other, her soul drifted away from her husk when she passed. For her, death was a release. It merely meant that she no longer have to wake up in pain, breathing through tubes and have doctors flood her veins with dubious chemicals for “experimental treatment”. Free from her mortal constraints and useless body, she felt… at peace, serene, even. Death is bliss, after all, when objectively living sucked to the point of extreme. Therefore, there was no reason to mourn at all and she knew she definitely didn't. ... That was until, on her way for a proper reincarnation, she found herself rudely interrupted and left stranded in the great NoWhere. “Wonderful,” she remarked as she floated in the [Beyond], “Just when I thought that suicide is the answer.” Author's note: Updates every Tuesday-Wednesday, probably some time in between. ... P.S Notes: Contains existential questions and nihilistic themes, rather philosophical. Will be rather sluggish until the MC gets her shit together. P.SS Notes: Story takes time to develop. And maybe uncomfortable. It's not gonna be action-packed or filled with battles, I think. Anyway, it is kinda unusual. P. SSS Notes: It is not LitRpg. Don't be fooled.

So Luna embarked on a magical adventure to find out what misfortune had fallen upon her that she had to fight skeletons, monsters, dragons, and villains to stay alive. "With this Blade of Fate, I will decide my own destiny", she whispered to the man pinned on the wall, her sword against his neck. Disclaimer : I do not own anyrright to the photo.
