《Little wolf》Campings fun, right?

Skadi had subsequently spent most of the day tied to a tree in the middle of the camp. Her captor, Arne, she learned left her be actually. Though it seems a few soldiers wanted what ever reward he'd dish out if they got her to talk.
So every once in awhile a man or women would approach her, harass her for a few minutes then get annoyed and leave.
A never ending cycle really.
Some tried to bribe her, others scare her, and one straight up punched her in the face then walked away. It was not a negotiation tactic. Then again he could have just been crazy. Who knows.
As of now, Arne sat across from her, chewing on a large piece of meat. The man chewed with his mouth open, bit would fall out and into his beard.
Sighing Skadi let her head rest on the trees trunk looking up at the green leaves.
She tried to ignore the loud chewing and occasionally slurping sound, but she was breaking fast. Okay maybe he wasn't as stupid as he seemed. When she lifted her head again he picking food out of his beard and eating it. By God's this man was actually a pig.
The look of disgust was apparently very clear on her face.
"Am I bothering you mockingbird?" he approached her clenching her jaw with greasy hands. She struggled trying to get away from it only for him to grip tighter. "Pretty little thing aren't you," His free hand travelled down her cheek to her neck. He wasn't looking her in the eyes anymore, no his gaze was fixed on something else. Despite her best efforts she started to shake as his hand rested on her waist. Only for him to take it away, instead taking a small knife from his belt and cutting her binds loose. Though certainly not relinquishing his grip on her face.

"Come then mocking bird, you won't speak, ill make you scream." Arnes grip changed, grabbing a fist full of her pale hair and dragging her into his tent. A few soldiers whistled behind them, cheering Arne on.
Skadi knew what he was planning, she certainly wasn't stupid. But she also knew she needed a way out, how was the main problem.
She was scanning the room looking for something, anything that'd get her out. Only to be stopped mid thought by a sharp blow to the back of her head.
Falling to the ground, Skadi could feel two things, blood spilling around her head and her hands. They weren't together, he had let her go. Maybe he'd thought he'd knock her out but she was free. Well somewhat.
Rolling over she seemed to surprise Arne long enough to kick him in a particularly sensitive spot. She stood, wobbly at first but got her bearings soon after.
She ran at him knocking him completely over, before reaching for the knife he had.
It was short bladed but it do what it needed. She stabbed him, in his left shoulder, then again just above his hip, he wouldn't die, probably, but it would certainly slow him down.
He was mewling on the floor, crying actually. Manly. Skadi took this opportunity to knock him over the head with a stool that sat next to him.
Okay now leave, she scurried under the opposite side of the tent hesitating to watch for feet.
When she saw there was none, she stuck her head out. It was night now, good, and Arnes tent was next to the tree line she just had cross a makeshift path.
She had heard Arne stir a bit, now or never.
Skadi dashed across the path into the bushes and ran. It was hard to see through the darkness, even more so her eyes were fuzzy due the blow Arne had dealt her. But she ran like her life depended on it, cause it did.

After a few minutes she heard shouting, but she never looked back. Skadi knew the lands surrounding Hedeby like no one else. She was closing in on the northern walls, she could see the torches that stood on top. Soon enough she burst through the tree line, she was only yards from the gate when something hit her.
Her small body fell to the ground with a thud, and soon her vision darkened.
Thank you guys for being patient, I've been going 100 miles an hour for almost two months now. ☺️☺️☺️

Duality
“Listen closely for this is our oldest tale… In the beginning there was peace and knowledge throughout our land… The creatures of old roamed these lands… Evil had yet to spread through our land… A rift in the very fabric of reality formed… The land burned and melted as the creatures stepped through… As the most advanced civilization… We took the mantle to combat… By the time we were able to gather half the world had already been lain bare… The war covered the once peaceful land in death and destruction… During this time humanity's greatest light arose…” Monologued the old man, red in the face from passionately spewing his praises of a past he had no part of. Written by two authors, this novel covers the tale of a pair of protagonists in a wuxia world. Oh, and maybe an isekai or two. Our goal with this project is to make an engaging and entertaining story, while making a good attempt at a somewhat realistic wuxia setting. We’re aware of the oxymoron…
