《Human Race (Boyxboy) #1》Chapter Eleven: My Angel

I was on a hunting trip, looking for animals to kill. I was bored at the castle, might as well hunt something. I guess it's just something to do; like a past time. The humans were right, hunting is fun. My favorite game is deer, I loved to gift it to the humans, well the fur anyway. The humans in the dome would need blankets for the upcoming winter. The dome protects against weather but vampires don't like heat or the sun. So the dome is mostly cold and sometimes rains if I want it to. Don't give me that crap about how I'm a vampire and I should hunt humans. Oh give me a break, I'm not going to make a humans life depend on a gun. More like my fangs. And besides I don't even kill my humans, we need them. The Vampire race depends on the humans for food, and for survival.

Over the years, many humans have committed suicide, saying dying is better then being a 'slave'. So now we have electronic devices around their necks, making sure they don't hurt themselves.

But as I raced farther into the woods, I saw a human, he was armed, but it's not like I couldn't take him down. He was looking out into the woods, maybe he was a guard or something? He looked young and was wearing some sewed clothing. He looked skinny but not as skinny as he should be for living out here. He was tall but looked quick and lean. I heard the leaves rustle softly blowing in the direction toward me.

He had O' positive, oh and did it smelled good. I know A' positive is my favorite but I can settle with O' positive. But a few seconds later a smaller boy jogged up to him and said the wagon has arrived. Is that code name for something? Or did an actual wagon arrive? Well I'll find out soon.

"Yeah, Riley, Fennel, and Alice have returned." The shorter kid said.

Alice? My Alice? The Alice I need for my Palace? The one who can cure any disease that a human might have? Oh, I hope so; I need her. I might take a look at this little fort. If it was Alice, I could finally make more medicines for the humans. I could cure any disease any sickness. I could have no more dying humans, even if they reciprocate. I could make a way so none of the humans die. We have already lost so many, that the vampires triple in size compared to them.

Unlike most Vampires, I love humans. Well more like need them and love their blood. But same difference. Alice could make cures and antidotes. I needed her. And after all being the supreme overlord of all vampires, it's kind of my job to ensure our population. By ensuring the human race.

I crept a little farther, looking ahead for any humans. I could smell them, and it was strong. No vampire goes into these parts because they are infested with monsters. And Vampires think that if a place where there are monsters, there will be no humans. That is partially true but I guess not in this case.

I wonder how many there are. I know from the smell, there is a lot of them. I just needed Alice. I won't take them in no, I like to watch. It will probably fascinate me. So I crept a little farther, keeping out of site of those guards, avoiding any traps and peeked beyond the woods.

I saw a clearing, a house surrounded by woods. The house was white but worn down, so it looked like a faded grey. The porch used to be green but it was chipping, and now it was a dark grey-green paint here and there. There was a garden, a chicken coop, a pin for pigs, and one cow. And right in the middle of it all was a wagon, with supplies, lots of supplies. How did they get all that? They must of raided something, maybe a car or a train. It didn't bother me, it actually made me quite curious.

There were many humans, maybe twenty here. But I know there were more in those woods. They had a nice set up going on here too. Too bad I had to raid it to find Alice, and hopefully no humans would have to be hurt in the process. I would give her an option, come with me willingly, and I won't tell anyone about the set up here, or go down with a fight and I will tell them about this house and humans.

This place was big, and really nice for being a the darkest time in human history.

But as I kept looking I saw the most beautiful creature in the world. And I have met many beautiful vampires, and non have out did this small human.

He was small in his early teens, with white fluffy hair. A small flower crown was upon his head, making him look every more beautiful. A little bear in his hand with his delicate little fingers wrapped around it. You could give him wings and a halo and he might as well been an angel.

He was gorgeous, with soft pink lips, bright blue eyes, a small button nose, and a small body. He was giggling, which had my heart beating fast. He was going to be mine. Everything was forgotten about Alice, I wanted him. He was perfect the way he smiled. He giggled again and I swear my heart thrived.

No one should be that beautiful, it was impossible for a human. His stupid dog started barking in the direction where I was standing. My angel tried to get the dog to calm down but as soon as he looked up, his beautiful face paled. He saw me.

His small body started to shake but he looked frozen. He was stuck, terrified. It must be the power I permitted.

I stepped forward so I was only a couple feet away.

What do I do? Why can't I move? It's a demon!

A gift of mine is to read any mind of any creature. I could even read the mind of that dog, but it wouldn't give me much. Maybe a few ideas on how to get food but that's about it.

The dog sprang at me, giving my angel the opportunity to run. I did a small wave of my hand, causing the dog to stop and stare up at me.

I ran after my angel, grabbing his wrist. I pulled him back, so I was face to face. I ran my fingers through his soft hair and gripped it tight. His eyes watered and his hands instinctively wrapped around my wrist.

I traced my finger over his flawless face. "So beautiful. How is that even possible?"

A loud alarm starting going off, and it actually annoyed me. I just wanted to look at the perfect angel in front of me? Was that so hard to ask? How do Vampires patrolling not hear this? It was not hard to miss. A bunch of boys started running toward me. They wore clothes a lot like my angels but they were all older. I wonder how they did all this. Those weapons had to come from somewhere, unless they made them? But that would be extremely hard. They circled me and my angel, holding their crossbows at me.

"Let him go, before we kill you." the one that said that was blonde, he was handsome too, but not even close to the angel in my arms.

"You can't kill me, you fool! I'm an Ancient Vampire. Maybe you have heard of me, Orion?" I asked.

Their faces paled and my angel started shaking.

I'm going to die. Why did this happen to me?

I wanted to tell my angel that I would never kill him or even think about it. He meant the world to me now, he was going to be all mine. No one would stand in my way. But I was a little busy, when an arrow shot at me.

I grabbed in between my fingers and crushed it, throwing it the ground. I snapped my angels' small wrist, causing him to scream in pain. His knees started shaking as his sobs racked his body. I wrapped my arm around his waist, pushing him into my body for support. He buried his face in my shirt and sobbed, his small body trembling.

I had to teach these humans that you can't attack me, without discipline.

"Don't do that again, or the next thing I snap, will be his neck."

Oh god, I'm going to die.

"It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you anymore. You're doing so good." I whispered so only he could hear my words.

"Lower your weapons and step back." Using my tone, which causes everything and anyone to do as I say.

The humans stepped back, dropping their weapons. I smiled but realized my little angel was losing consciousness.

"Sleep." And every human fell to the ground sleeping. Well not my angel anyway, he was in my arms. I just stared at his face and was memorized by how beautiful he was. And now he was all mine. I took his broken wrist in my hand, then snapped it back in place. He didn't move or make any acknowledgement that that just happened.

I picked him up bridal style and pulled him back to my chest, and grabbing the small bear that fell. I could hear more humans coming. I should leave now, before I have to make anymore humans fall asleep.
