《Daughter of Mortis》The Lower City

Following her discovery, Ania had grabbed a bag and put in everything she thought she would need. There wasn't much to be taken, other tan her set of clothes from Lothal, the Jedi Holocron, and her datapad. At the last minute, she decided to throw Ion's datapad into the bag as well. Even though he was dead, there was still a possibility that the Empire would be able to steal information from it. She checked to make sure her blasters, lightsabers, and comm were in reach and headed towards the Ravager.
Two stormtroopers guarded her boarding ramp. "We were ordered to accompany you on your hunt," one of them said.
Ania beckoned them aboard with a wave of her hand. She sat in her chair and lifted off, as the engines were already running. Ania swiveled around, facing the two stormtroopers behind her. "Sorry, boys, but no company allowed on this trip." Faster than they could react, Ania had pulled a blaster from her holster and quickly stunned them both. The stormtrooper's unconscious bodies clanked to the floor.
Ania used the Force to levitate the bodies and carry them down to the cargo hold. There were only two ways in and out of it. The door she was coming through, or the airlock. The troopers would remain unconscious until they arrived on Coruscant, she hoped. Then, she could leave them outside the Emperor's Palace and make her escape. She sealed the door in place and locked it, before running back to the control room.
She had already removed the bugs in the ship's system, but she didn't doubt there was a tracker or two installed somewhere. She hooked her datapad into the control panel and began sifting through the ship's diagnostics. Ania soon spotted two red blips on the screen. She pulled the cover off of the panel and searched until she found the source of the red dots. Two trackers were imbedded in the wiring of her ship.
With expert hands, Ania removed the trackers. She threw them down into the garbage shoot and released the airlock. The trackers drifted off into space, sparks flying from them as the pressure crushed them. Ania took her blasters and lightsabers from her belt. The Imperial insignia was emblazoned on all of them. Ania gritted her teeth and grabbed her tool kit out of the galley. She quickly scratched out the insignia and then molded a piece of metal over, until you couldn't tell there had ever been anything on them.
Ania drew out her comm also. She plugged it into her datapad and went through the list of frequencies she had. She deleted them all, one by one, until she came across the frequency with a name on it. Ezra Bridger. Ania sighed and shook her head. She would have to keep his frequency. She might need Rebel help by the time she got out of this. She carefully pulled the wiring out from the bottom of the comm and removed the tiny tracker imbedded in it. She repeated the same process as before.

Ania ran diagnostics on both hers and Ion's datapads, but nothing unusual turned up. Satisfied that she had destroyed the Empire's ways of finding her, Ania slipped into the refresher and changed out of her mercenary garb. She pulled on the familiar green tank top and slid the gold bands up her arm. She kept her belt, pants, boots, and gauntlets. She took the hated garment and stored it beneath her makeshift bunk. She may need it again sometime, as much as she wanted to burn the thing.
Coruscant's surface looked ahead. Ania seated herself again and angled the ship down, heading for the Imperial Palace. She hovered a few blocks away from the palace. Ania strode over to the cargo hold and heard angry shouts from within. The stormtroopers were awake. Ania opened the airlock from where she stood. A few muffled screams echoed as the stormtroopers fell a few feet onto the hard ground. They could run to Vader and the Emperor, but by then, she would be long gone.
Ania ran back to the control room, but was thrown off her feet as a massive shudder ricocheted through the ship! She quickly flung herself to the control panels and lifted, turning the B-wing right side up. She didn't have enough room to extend her wings, so the guns on the ends of the ship would have to do. She urged the ship forward, increasingly aware of the military aircraft above her. She sped in and out of the bustling airways but the ships continued to fire at her. She shielded her eyes as one of the blasts missed and an airspeeder exploded in a fiery inferno before her.
"I need to land!" She whispered. "I can lose them on foot! I might lose my ship, but I'll still be alive." Below her, Ania spotted a cargo bay, bustling with workers. It was big enough for her ship. Ania powered down the thrusters and lowered the ship to the ground. Workers ran to and fro, trying to determine why a ship would be landing in the work yard!
Ania threw a cowl over herself and grabbed her bag. She sprinted off the ship and faded into the crowd of workers. The military ships hovered above and numerous stormtroopers lowered themselves to the ground. They began jostling the workers, trying to find her. Ania gripped her blaster in one hand. Better a blaster than a lightsaber in this crowded area. She spotted the south exit and ran towards it. Some of the stormtroopers must've spotted her because blast shots began to ring out around her. Ania lifted a hand and threw the heavy doors open. Gasps echoed around her, but she had no time to stop. Ania vaulted through the doors and whipped them shut just as the stormtroopers caught up to her.
Her breath was beginning to come in pants and gasps so she slowed, but only slightly. She made her way to a maglev station and hopped on top of it. Ania flattened herself between the metal sidings in the center of the car. She didn't want to be spotted up here of all places, but she couldn't be caught without a ticket in a confined space. She was grateful for the chance to catch her breath.

Ania stiffened as she heard stormtroopers searching the crowds below. Thankfully, they didn't bother to look up. The only things visible of her, were her montrals, which stuck above the metal railing. Ania risked raising her head to view the next station they would be headed to. Ania groaned. They wouldn't stop until they reached the Lower City! Even she wasn't dumb enough to jump off the Maglev. It moved faster than most ships in the entry process!
Ania resigned herself to a long ride. She rolled over and made sure her pack was secure. Then, she closed her eyes and drifted into a blissfully dreamless sleep. When she next opened her eyes, the maglev had stopped. She peered over the railing and caught a glimpse of the signs. She was in the Lower City! Ania jumped off the maglev and cautiously made her way down the street. She quickly recalled what she knew about Coruscant's Lower City.
The Lower City was lacking in stormtroopers, that was certain. There were robot police officers, but they wouldn't be hard to take care of. What she had to look out for, were the gangsters. The Lower City swarmed with them. It wasn't as bad as the Under City, but they were still bad. The smaller crime lords ran the Under City, but the big ones ran the Lower City. She would have to be careful and avoid them, or she could be taken by slavers or worse! Ania knew she might be able to escape, but some of Ahsoka's shared memories told her that even Jedi had their weaknesses.
"Well, Mortis, if you wish to guide me, now is probably the best time," she whispered. Her heartbeat quickened for a moment, then resumed its normal pace. Ania knew she had been heard, but if help would come..was another story entirely.
Ania worked away from the bustling streets and chose to go through alley's instead. It was more dangerous, but the probability of being recognized was slimmer. She kept a hand on her lightsaber hilt, aware of the strange looks being shot towards her. Two particularly large Trandoshans eyed her creepily. Ania lifted her cowl only slightly, but enough for them to glimpse her blaster. The Trandoshans turned away from her with snarls of disgust.
She continued walking, but bursts of anger and fear began to sound. Ania twisted around and heard the sound of exhaust. Two figures wearing jet packs lowered themselves. They landed and stalked forward, blasters at the ready. Ania melted back against a wall, hoping they wouldn't notice her. She noted their armor. Mandalorians! She thought.
The two Mandalorians worked their way closer. They jostled and moved others out of their way. Ania spied an insignia on the sides of their helmets. It looked like a geometric wolf, with diamonds for eyes and a crescent in between the diamonds. The Mandos spied her staring and stalked over to her. Her grip tightened around her lightsaber.
"Well, well, well. What have we here?" One of them said, his accent very prominent.
"I'd say we got ourselves a young one," the other replied.
"Think the boss will want her?"
"Doesn't he always?"
They are part of a gang! Ania realized. She slid her lightsaber into her hand, but kept it out of sight. "I'm not going anywhere with you thugs!"
"She's got a nasty bite," the first Mando laughed.
"The boss'll fix that quick." The second one grabbed Ania's arm. Ania let her lightsaber return to her belt, before grabbing her own fist. She quickly twisted, dragging the Mando's arm back with her own. He released her arm with a cry of pain and she pinned his arm against his back.
"You won't find me easy to catch," she hissed. She pushed the Mandalorian forward, bashing his head against a cement building. The remaining alley dwellers cheered Ania on. The other Mandalorian fired a shot into the air and they fell silent and backed away.
Let's do this without resorting to weapons, if you can, Ania told herself. She began to run. The Mando's lifted off with their jet packs and began to chase after her. They fired blasts but Ania nimbly avoided them, sensing where they would be before they were there. She reached a dead end.
"Ha ! Nowhere for you to run now!" One of them called.
Ania used her momentum and ran a few feet up the wall. She quickly vaulted backwards over the Mando's and ran back the way she had come. The confused gangsters had to stop and turn around. They were growing angrier, that was certain. Ania could see one of the main streets up ahead. If she could make it there, she could use the crowd to avoid the Mandalorians!
She skidded to a stop as two burly figures stepped into front of her, blocking her escape. She backed up, preparing to jump over the Trandoshans, but bumped into the Mandalorians! She was caught in the middle. "Our boss is gonna break that spirit of yours, little miss," one of the Mandalorians said. He lifted his blaster and stunned her before Ania could grab her lightsaber. She fell to the ground, unaware of the faces leering over her.
